Ok, Kristy Marie just wow, this story was amazing. I just loved it with everything in me. I cried for the last hour and a half of this book because the emotional pull was just that strong. From the moment I started, this was one I just did not want to put down. You get cameos from the rest of the Commander in Briefs crew (highly recommend you check it out) which was such a delight because they have formed this incredible bond that never fails to entertain and warm your heart all at once.
Timeaus Lambros, completely stole my heart. He’s seriously the kind of guy you fall for without him even trying. Infuriatingly broody and sexy, to know him is to love him and love him I did.
Milah Iglesias was simply a treat. A feisty beauty with just that little bit of crazy but I was all here for it. Her inner thoughts had me literally laughing out loud.
Together he and Milah were just *muah* chef’s kiss perfection and hot steamy magic on the page.
Their story wasn’t one of a second chance romance but it was one of second chances and boy was it beautifully crafted.

I was so excited for this audio and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Teddy Hamilton is a favorite and every time he narrates it is audio bliss and this story was no different. The last book I listened to with Stephanie Nemeth-Parker was one with an English accent and the seamless transition to a Latina accent for Milah was done flawlessly. These two were the icing on the cake.

If you’re looking for a book that’s going to be more than a read, this is the one, it is going to make you feel. And I mean ALL the feels.

Love It!

I have read and loved every book from this series. Listening to them now just makes it even better, because now I have a voice to go with the characters I love. This is Tim and Milah's story. Tim is having a hard time accepting he has lost his hearing and Milah is a language teacher who just learned her class has been cut due to budgets and she risks the chance of being deported if she doesn't find another job. When these two are paired up to work together the sparks fly. This was sweet, funny and heartbreaking. I loved the emotional storyline and the banter between the characters. As always these guys leave me wanting more and can not wait for more from this series. I think Stephanie and Teddy did a great job giving a voice to these characters.

Stubborn Hero Meets Sassy Heroine

Timaeus Lambros is my favorite kind of book boyfriend - a broody male with a chip on his shoulder. While Tim is a loving “uncle” to baby Aspen, he still has lots of demons that become his shadow. This former piano prodigy turned marine starts off the book by fully losing his hearing. His support system comes up with the idea to get a job so that he can try to integrate himself into the hearing world where he meets his sassy co-teacher Milah Inglesias!!!

Milah is a strong Latina lady!!! While she longs to be an interpreter, her true passion is high heels and giving people a strong side eye. Teaching children foreign languages, she learns that the grant that funds the program is in the process of shutting down and she is afraid of what the future is holding for her...Milah needs to find a new job or she will be deported back to Costa Rica. So the presence of broody, but oh so hot, Tim Lambros in her classroom isn’t something she is looking for.

Tim was such a freaking alpha. Oh Lord, did Teddy Hamilton narrate Tim to the fullest :fans face: The ever growing sexual tension between Tim and Milah was so fun to experience all over again during the audiobook. Milah was perfect for him, and so was the choice to have Stephanie Nemeth-Parker narrate Milah. She stood her ground and didn’t let Tim stay in the background. When you have a stubborn hero, sometimes the best course of action is be just as stubborn lol. Loved the banter and loved that they showed their crazy.

Spirit Character

Spirit characters? Yes, they exist. Mila is my spirit character. My kind of weird and crazy… Stephanie’s narration is on point, especially with the sarcasm.

I loved this story. It was funny, serious, about love and passionate. The narrators were perfect. Awesome job Kristy Marie.

Tim is everything 🥰

I did an eyeball read of this story back in 2020. I saw the Facebook ad and the synopsis pulled me in. I loved that Tim is deaf because it’s a different kind of hero that’s underrepresented. Tim stole my heart from the beginning and from the first 2 books. Mila is a Latina firecracker and such an amazing person. I love Tim and Mila together. I love this family that was built from the first book. A bunch of lost misfits who all fit together.

Teddy Hamilton was the perfect choice for Tim. He portrays Tim’s feelings and personality perfectly. Stephanie Nemeth-Parker is a new to me narrator. I loved her accent for Mila and she did a great job bring Mila to life.

“Your mouth drives me crazy, and I can’t even hear you,” he growls. Review: This is the 5th book (a novella and 4 books) in The Commander in Briefs series. I haven't gotten to read this series yet, but it has definitely been on my TBR. Milah is a sassy Foreign Language teacher at Bleckley Elementary. She loves helping the kids, but her job is in jeopardy. Timaeus is a broody ex-Marine who has recently lost his hearing due to a genetic condition. He is struggling to accept his new life as he knows it. At the suggestion of his counselor, Tim is forced by his loved ones to get a job to show that he has accepted his new life and is moving on. He hates if anyone knows his situation and doesn't want anyone to have to change how they communicate just for him. Enter the fiesty Ms. Iglesias from Costa Rica. These two were instantly attracted to each other and Tim loved to get under Milah's skin making so much sexual tension. My heart broke for Tim. I can't imagine losing my hearing and missing out on the laughter and voices of my family and friends. These two had such a connection and Milah just knew what Tim needed. Milah helps bring Tim back to life in so many ways and the extra connection with Oliver just warmed my heart. I cried over the last chapter and the Epilogue. It made me just so happy. I loved the bits we got of the other characters from The Commander in Briefs series. I've seen them throughout other books and fallen in love with their chosen family. Can't wait to read their stories. I listened to the audiobook by Teddy Hamilton and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker. I've listened to Teddy before and enjoy his voice. He does a great job. Stephanie was new for me. She did a Latina accent which really brought Milah to life. It threw me off at first, but I loved it! It was perfect!

5 He’s a Fighter Stars!!!

Updated to reflect my thoughts on the audiobook....

Having just finished listening to this story, I'm reminded of how much I loved reading this book when I first discovered Ms. Marie's writing. The narration by Ms. Nemeth-Parker and Mr. Hamilton was spot on for these characters. I fell in love once again with Tim, Milah and Oliver. I felt every scene finding myself laughing out loud in my car at some of the antics of the CIB characters and I also cried at some of the most poingant scenes that were the driving forces behind this story. I highly recommend this book and series!!

This is my first book by Kristy Marie and what a great introduction to her writing. This book touched me in so many ways. Tim and Milah are both fighters for what they want. The difference though is that they’re fighting for different things. Milah is a is a sassy woman that’s having Tim forced on her as a co-teacher in her class and trust me when I tell you it’s the last thing either of them want for a variety of reasons.

Tim is a man that is alpha to the core and he’s part of a “family” that is self-made and they’re pressuring him to be more social outside of their little group. Especially as he’s fighting the battle of his life….losing his hearing. And he’s not taking it well….until Milah crashes into his life and makes him have all sorts of thoughts that are definitely not classroom related!

While these two were opposites I loved their banter back and forth. She’s somewhat shy but is drawn to him and manages to spout off to him when he makes her feel uncomfortable because that’s what we do when we don’t want to admit something to ourselves.

This book is filled with laughter at all the right moments too. It’s a tension breaker that is definitely needed at times because his family does not let him get away with ANYTHING!! There’s also moments of angst that had my heart weeping as we learn more about Tim’s life. Milah for her part has a plan, but there’s a major wrench thrown into it and she’s got to figure out how to continue to live the life she’s built for herself.

Ms. Marie is a talented author and really drew me into this story and all the characters. The cast of secondary characters is rich and hearty. Providing moments of tenderness and hilarity. I wanted to be part of this family that’s for sure. I loved how there are little moments of the past as we learn about Tim’s past providing the much needed details of what drives him today. Of course, this too changes the more he’s around Milah and feelings grow for her. Watching their relationship develop and become a deep and unbidding love was truly beautiful. It heals so many internal wounds!

Overall, I’m so glad I took the leap with this book because I love reading new to me authors. The only drawback for me is that I think that the previous books in the series need to be read prior to this one. It technically could be a standalone, but there were several moments reading this book that I felt like I was missing something because I didn’t have the full history of the other characters who’s books came before this one. I think having that history would’ve richened my reading experience.

I’m definitely going to go back and read the previous books in this series because I’m now an official Kristy Marie fan and want to read all her words and immerse myself in the fabulous worlds she creates with her words.
