Where's the ending????

So, the interviewer (the boy) goes "down to the corner bar where his car was parked" and then Audible goes to the music and says I hope you have enjoyed this audiobook ????? Wha??!! I have listened to audiobooks for several years now and abridged ones on many occasions but this one is ridiculous! Where is the ending??? The attempt to shorten the book is alright considering they wanted to do so but what the heck??? There is no ending! Audible...you messed this one up! And why is the unabridged version NOT available?? Thanks but no thanks..I want my credit back!

Disapointed with Reader

I loved this book when I originally read it years ago. After reading all the rest of the Vampire Chronicles, I was anxious to revisit this one. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. The reader came off like an old Dracula movie, not the all too human vampire that Lestat was in the book. In addition, the abridged version left way too much out. If an unabridged version comes out with a better reader, such as the man who read The Vampire Armand or Memnoch the Devil, I will gladly trash my copy of this version in favor of a better rendition.

Disappointed

I loved this book the first time that I read it years ago. I was very unhappy, however, with this abridged version, and the sound quality was far below what I have come to expect from Audible.

My all-time Favourite Anne Rice story

If you could sum up Interview with the Vampire in three words, what would they be?

Riveting, fantastical and sumptuous.

What other book might you compare Interview with the Vampire to and why?

I would make a comparison on the way Rice captures the age and time of Paris, New York and the ol' South to the way Dicken describes it in his 'Tale of Two Cities'.

What about F. Murray Abraham’s performance did you like?

I think the narrator was great.

Who was the most memorable character of Interview with the Vampire and why?

Louis, but of course. His character reveals itself in its true form throughout the book and its his emotional tale that pulls at the heart strings in this first installment in the trilogy.

Too much missing

The story is ok for an abridged version but it's missing a lot of good stuff.

Not the full story

This is not the full book. Do not waste your credit. Highly disappointed. Will be returning.

Thought provoking

I originally read this book while onboard ship during Desert Storm in the persian gulf. This story conjures images and arguments and passions for many facets of life. The characters are very rich and interesting because of thier attachments to family and homes of long ago. These characters are developed and well defined and true to thier own individual natures. Not so much a "dracula" tale as an exploration into how different personalities would respond if released from thier earthly ties and given neverending life at a grisley price.

This is a very abbreviated version

The full audiobook is 14.5 hours long. This one is 3 hours long. I can’t say I missed the 11.5 hours they cut out of this version, but it’s good to understand what you are (and are not) getting with this version.

OK

Story is a modern classic now. Narrator was lovely, but not the right choice for this story.

Interview with a Vampire

Disappointed to discover that this was abridged as this was not stated in the information. Enjoyed the story and felt the narrator was very good

short changed

Having read the full unabridged version of this title, I felt short changed by this audio book. I really don't see the point of butchering books this way.
