MASTERPIECE

Absolute masterpiece which makes investing for 99% of people simple and explains the reasons why best investing is built on patience. 99% of what you need to know about investing is in this book. The other 1% involves getting the right allocation, invest regularly, give it time to grow and voila, a good way to have a great nest egg. I bought a couple of copies for some friends at work who are interested in learning how to invest.

Practical book

Very useful, practical book to read and learn from. I would highly recommend it. However, I feel like I could summarize his whole message into one sentence: it's probably best to stick with low-cost, passively managed index funds that invest in the whole market.
Regardless, here's a few highlighted lessons learned:
- Types of investment, Common Investment Packages
- Costs compound just as returns do. Each fund's returns percentage is higher than what you'll actually get, so keep an eye on those costs and keep 'em low.
- Simplify your portfolio. All you really need are a few passively managed index funds. Active managers rarely outperform the benchmark index.
- And, to quote from the man himself: "The More the Managers Take, the Less the Investors Make." So rely less on middle-man advisors, if you can help it.
There are other great tidbits that you'll find in the book. All in all, I'd recommend it and, again, to borrow something from the book: "Don't take my word for it", follow the other reviewers' recommendations if you want your fair share of market returns.

now I have proffits.

I had been reading this book since ( Sept, 2019) the same time I was initiating my investment life in stocks. With chapter 6 i discovered some mistakes I had been doing then correct the course of my investments. It was enlightening to discover my behavior was playing against me and I should control myself in order to avoid more losses. Thanks to this book now I have proffits.
