Fist-sized cockroaches. Bird-sized wasps. Spiders, millipedes, ticks, all swollen to enormous bulk with vicious appetites to match. And other things, creatures that should never exist. Publisher's Summary
When evil dies, it doesn't always stay dead.
Six outlaws, barely a day ahead of their pursuers, find shelter in a freshly deserted New Mexico town. With no water, and one of them gravely wounded, they realize too late they're trapped inside the lifeless town.
As they soon discover the grisly truth behind the disappearance of the townsfolk, the outlaws find themselves hunted by something far worse than anything they've faced yet - an unspeakable evil that seemingly cannot be killed. When the malevolent creature targets them in turn, the previously tight-knit group begin unraveling past the breaking point. Thinking it to be a Strigoi Morti, a monstrosity that can only be harmed while feeding on the living, the surviving few are faced with an agonizing choice. Who will they sacrifice so the others may live?
Spine-chilling, poignant, and action-packed, Iron Dogs is an instant classic for horror, thriller, and western fans everywhere.

Just In Time For Christmas
I appreciated the author narrating his own written word. There is an obvious personal connection to the text. A story that captivates. Although it is a story, maybe best released before Halloween, it is better lye than never, and can’t fail as a gift for the horror lover in your life.

Good, could have been better
The story was pretty decent, got better as it went on especially at the end. Would have given this book a higher rating if it wasn’t for the narration. The author did a passable job narrating, my issue with The narrating was with the voices of the main group of characters and the author over emphasizing in some spots. In my opinion the main group of characters sounded very similar to each other. Where the author chose to emphasize some of his words and statements came off as overdramatic at times. The other reason for the rating not being higher was the awful sound effects that were inserted into the story. This was a book for adults, not children. There were the sounds of hooves beating when horses were running, gun shots during gun fights, doors creaking open, supernatural sound effects, etc. these in my opinion were just distracting from the total experience and brought things down a notch. On a positive note, the characters were varied enough in personality and dialogue so that you could easily tell them apart. It was an interesting twist on western and supernatural. The author also kept you guessing at the ending enough so that it wasn’t quite as easy as you think it would be to figure it out.

Just An Awesome Story
I can honestly say while listening to this book, I never knew what to expect next! Neil Chase does a fantastic job at keeping his readers/listeners guessing at where the story goes, and then blows their mind completely when they get to that point.
The story was a quick listen but only because I couldn’t put the book down. I wanted to soak up every minute of it. Everything is perfect in this book, pace, timing, tone and characters, just everything seemed to come together to form a fantastic novel.
I was completely enraptured by this book and have urged some of my friends that they needed to read/listen to this book.
Authors like King and Koontz better look out, there is a new guy on the scene who blows them out of the water! Neil also does his own narrating, which is top shape.... I am definitely putting Neil Chase on my watch list of rising authors.

Everyone needs to listen to this!
Again, I was looking for something different to listen to. This book was so far from my usual books that I wasn’t sure how it would go, what my feelings and personal thoughts would end up being once I finished it. I LOVED IT! This book was beautifully written and was such a whirlwind of suspense, sadness, action, and OMG moments that it was hard to put down (or pause on my phone).
I’ve never been a fan of music and sound effects in audiobooks but with this one? WOW! I ended up messaging the author (who sent me the code) to let him know he did an awesome job with this production. The fact he narrated it himself, again, WOW! He’s definitely a natural speaker and added so much to the story, the accents, the emotion. It all came together in this—insert positive adjective here—package and I’d love to read more stories that he’s written/narrated again.
Here’s a quote from what I sent the author: “I usually have no problem imagining what’s going on in each scene, creating a movie in my mind. But with yours? I’ve never had a “movie” like this before. It’s been such a wild ride! I tend to not be a fan of music and sound effects but the ones in this book were so beautifully incorporated without distracting and/or taking me out of the story.”
Anyway, I loved the quotes at the beginning of each chapter; some were really cool/interesting.
While there were times when I got a smidge confused because the author chose to keep the story in the past tense even when a character reminisced about a past event, instead of using past perfect, it so did not deter me from wanting to leave a 5-star review.
Seeing that there are only nine reviews on Goodreads for this book, one that came out over two years ago, has me really wishing I had friends to suggest this book to, unfortunately, I’m a hermit. I will get my husband to give it a listen; he’s the one with friends. :D The idea that such an awesome book is out there without being read/listened to is so sad. I’ve encountered only a select few of these kinds of books.
In the end, if you couldn’t tell with all I’ve said, this was a great listen and I’d highly recommend it to others.
I received a free audiobook code in exchange for an honest review.

Thrilling mixture of story, music and sound
I loved everything about Iron Dogs. The story pulled me right in from the start, from the exciting shootouts to the mystery of the town. I found myself rooting for Cole, Frank and Red the most, and Ivan brought great comic relief at just the right times. The Strigoi is a unique and terrifying monster and I had no idea how the characters would deal with such an unstoppable foe. The final showdown is epic. I loved all the attentions to detail in this world, and it truly came to life in my mind's eye, especially with the fantastic music and sound effects! This is my new favorite audiobook. Will listen again soon!

So good!
I was looking for something different, and boy, did I find it! The story pulls you in right away doesn't let go till the very end. And what an ending it is! There's so much suspense and action crammed into this book, it's hard to believe. It's fun and it's scary and it's touching at just the right times. And with the music, it feels like an actual movie in your mind. Why is this book not a best-seller?

Really good Western.
Usually when books are not rated by the authors they don’t come out so great, but and I am dogs Neil Chase does a phenomenal job as a narrator. It starts somewhere in Texas with a union man who is now a bounty Hunter and he’s looking for 6X confederates who were hell-bent on thieving and murder. Not all were bloodthirsty, , But in a gang what one does all pay for. Frank, Cole, Virgil, Ivan, Red and the newcomer Billy he’s also a hothead. The ambush Max the northern bountyhunters and his men until all were laid out on the ground and they have to get to getting, because the Pinkertons would be on their way they were already on wanted posters so they had no time to waste. Heading towards a little town in the desert of Texas they two were ambushed by a bunch of cannables. They were six of them in about 50 cannibals. All of them were crazed and all of them were hungry I won’t spoil it but I couldn’t believe how they got out of that situation. They finally get to the little town and it’s desolate no one is there absolutely no one or is there. When checking in the Mercantile and the barbershop who was also a dentist they sometimes hear creeks above them but find no one or maybe they’ll see A shadow out the side of the right, but find nothing after inspecting where they thought it to be. What it is is definitely OMG moment. I’m going to stop here because I don’t want to give anything away but OMG is this book great I’d love that! Story
In the beginning, the gods destroyed the world. Five hundred years later, things haven’t gotten much better for humans. The demigods that were left behind to guard over humanity have been using them as fodder for an endless civil war between themselves, and the humans just go on dutifully slaughtering each other, battle after battle. It’s not all bad, though. Perry McGown makes his living off those bloody, stinking battlefields. He works on a crew that reclaims all the spent shell casings. But if anyone found out that he was a deserter from the war, he’d be executed for heresy.

Story
Ten years after the collapse, Huxley has built a good life again. He has a loving wife, a farm with fields of golden barley, and a daughter with a strange and wonderful gift. Then the slavers come. Working out in the fields during the attack, Huxley returns too late. His daughter has been taken, and his wife is bleeding out, her last whispered words about a man with a scorpion tattoo on his neck. Where do the slavers go? Huxley has no idea. He knows only that they head east, and so will he, setting out on foot across the desert of the Wastelands.
