As a young Christian man, Matthew Vines harbored the same basic hopes of most young people: to someday share his life with someone, to build a family of his own, to give and receive love. But when he realized he was gay, those hopes were called into question. The Bible, he’d been taught, condemned gay relationships. Feeling the tension between his understanding of the Bible and the reality of his same-sex orientation, Vines devoted years of intensive research into what the Bible says about homosexuality.

But Lee harbored a secret: He also knew that he was gay. In this groundbreaking book, Lee recalls the events - his coming out to his parents, his experiences with the "ex-gay" movement, and his in-depth study of the Bible - that led him, eventually, to self-acceptance. But more than just a memoir, Torn provides insightful, practical guidance for all committed Christians who wonder how to relate to gay friends or family members - or who struggle with their own sexuality.

Best-selling author Jackie Hill Perry, in her much anticipated follow-up to Gay Girl, Good God, helps us find the reason we don’t trust God - we misunderstand his holiness. In Holier Than Thou, Jackie walks us through Scripture, shaking the dust off of “holy” as we’ve come to know it and revealing it for what it really is: good news.

Story
How did the world arrive at its current, disorienting state of identity politics, and how should the church respond? Historian Carl R. Trueman discusses how influences ranging from traditional institutions to technology and pornography moved modern culture toward an era of “expressive individualism.” Investigating philosophies from the Romantics, Nietzsche, Marx, Wilde, Freud, and the New Left, he outlines the history of Western thought to the distinctly sexual direction of present-day identity politics and explains the modern implications of these ideas.

Publisher's Summary
It's the hot topic of the moment. Christians, the church, and the Bible seem to be out of step with modern attitudes towards homosexuality. And there is growing hostility towards those who hold a different view. So is God homophobic? And what do we say, and how do we relate to to both Christians and non-Christians who experience same-sex attraction. In this short, simple book, Sam Allberry wants to help confused Christians understand what God has said about these questions in the scriptures, and offers a positive and liberating way forward through the debate.

A lot of information in a compact book.
I listened to this book via Audible. The author had some very simple yet profound points on Homosexuality and the engagement of as a community. He focuses how this is a sin and not the "great sin". He offers encouragement for those struggling, as he is, and how the church should welcome the gay struggler with a focus on the Gospel and not the person's sexuality.

Precisely and concisely what Christendom needs to hear today
Sam Allberry is the lightning bolt the church needs today to wake up to the reality of how ineffective we have been at connecting the LGBTQ+ community with the Gospel. Our perspectives, attitudes and communication all need to be altered so we are aligned with how Jesus views all of humanity. Not one of us is better or worse than anyone else. We all desperately need a Savior and are called to love our neighbor. Sam communicates this beautifully in the context of human sexuality and identity, with honesty and transparency. Not an easy or popular message to present, but you do it well, Sam.

This has been the most helpful guide to explain God’s view on homosexuality and how Christians should respond on this topic. The Church has a very important job to support people who experience same sex attraction.
If you are someone who struggle with this question, it would help if you first find out who God is as creator. It will help you immensely to understand this topic in context of God’s greater plan for mankind.

I thought this a very helpful book for a wide range of people interested in same sex issues for various reasons. It is helpful to those like me who have not personally experienced struggles in this area , yet feel a concern and gospel responsibility towards those for whom it is a real struggle . It is also helpful for christians and church pastoral staff to enable them to reach out and face up to the need to be open, humble and biblical to those who struggle and long to be able to open up and face the real issues compassionately and biblically.

A concise articulation of the traditional view
Albery himself is same sex attraction and is empathetic in his approach. This is a good short statement of the classic Christian position. Perhaps it would be useful if he pointed to further resources for those who wanted to look into the exegesis of the scriptures in more detail. Nevertheless, lots of good insights.
It would be better if audible could add chapter titles rather than just chp 1, chp 2... they should be:
1 Introduction
2 Getting started: the Bible, marriage, sex
3 The Bible and homosexuality
4 Homosexuality and the Christian
