Publisher's Summary

The first in a wickedly seductive new Scottish historical romance series from New York Times best-selling author Suzanne Enoch.

Happily-ever-after in the Highlands just got a whole lot hotter.

London socialite Amelia-Rose Baxter is nobody's fool. Her parents may want her to catch a title, but she will never change who she is for the promise of marriage. Her husband will be a man who can appreciate her sharp mind as well as her body. A sophisticated man who loves life in London. A man who considers her his equal - and won't try to tame her wild heart....

Rough, rugged Highlander Niall MacTaggert and his brothers know the rules: the eldest must marry or lose the ancestral estate, period. But Niall's eldest brother just isn't interested in the lady his mother selected. Is it because Amelia-Rose is just too...free-spirited? Yes. Brazen? Aye. Surely Niall can find a way to soften up the whip-smart lass and make her the perfect match for his brother for the sake of the family.

Instead, it's Niall who tempts Amelia-Rose, despite her reservations about barbarian Highlanders. Niall finds the lass nigh irresistible as well, but he won't make the mistake his father did in marrying an Englishwoman who doesn't like the Highlands. Does he have what it takes to win her heart? There is only one way to find out....

An Amazon best book of the month in romance.

Slow to start

The story itself had a great potential but was very slow to start. I prefer a story that moves at a more flowing rate.

Reader ruined story

I’m sorry, but the reader’s voice was whiny and so annoying I could barely finish. The story was good enough, but not good enough for me to listen to another if it’s the same reader

Meh

Underwhelming somehow. The narrator ruined it unfortunately. I liked the characters well enough. I hoped for more tension between the main two characters

Bad narrator

This was the first book ever that u could not finish because of a bad narrator. The narrator that does the other two books in the series is fantastic it’s a pity that I have to skip
This first book in the series.

Excruciating

I had hopes after reading the reviews this would be a decent listen.

The Narration was excruciating to listen to. After a while I dreaded turning it on. The narrator didn’t help this poorly written book one bit. At best she was windy and whiny.

The story line, I found to be lacking all the way around. If you enjoy a mother who is vindictive and controlling, then you may be able to muttle through this calamity.
