Publisher's Summary

Gunny’s story...

I'm a loyal member of the Demented Sons MC. My priorities were my club and my family. Add in one sick bastard trying to pick us off, and I sure as hell didn’t need relationship complications.

Enter: one hot waitress.

A chance meeting. One wild night. By morning, I was gone. Maybe I'd used her, but she'd utterly ruined me.

Brothers dropping like flies, adrenaline in my veins, she would've been a dangerous distraction - one I couldn't afford.

At the worst possible moment, I made her a reckless promise. A promise I wouldn't keep - because I'm no saint.

She was already mine. Too bad it literally took a hurricane to make me see it.

🔸 HAPPILY BINGE-LISTENED THRU ALL OF THEM 🔸

Well Kristine Allen got me good with this awesome series.. she hooked me in with her hot alpha badass bikers and with the plights of the women who became their beloved old ladies.. and there I stayed riveted and rooted until the very last second of the very last book.

This book, together with the others, brings you into a world where angst, drama, suspense and danger go hand in hand with chemistry, sizzles, sex, romance and the clashing of lives, lifestyle, personalities, feelings and the war on love. And, Gunner (aka Jax) and Avery’s road to happily ever after may have started with one night, no strings or expectations and an empty place in the bed in the morning, but it was going to challenge and change their lives forever. Their road looked bleak at times.. and yes, it did have its emotionally challenging months.. and yes again, Gunner and Avery were the last to see they were absolutely perfect for each other. But, while Gunner and Avery’s emotional train wreck of lust, longing, denial, sexual sparks and guilt was flashing and flaring, there was a dark revenge-fuelled figure who was determined to damage and destroy the members of Demented Sons MC.. by any means necessary.

I loved loved loved venturing into this well-crafted world and getting to know the badass, possessive, sexy bikers who make up Demented Sons Texas Chapter. The dual POV stories are all very different but the brotherhood runs deep throughout each one and their loyalty, respect and love for each other is plain to feel and plain to see. The plotlines are rich, well-paced, climactic, thrilling, tension-filled, angsty, smokin hot, heartfelt, emotional and sometimes heavy and each chapter is drama filled. And this well-developed addictive five star series was made even better by the duet-style narration by two skilled narrators who brought the fantastic cast of characters, the delicious friction, the explosive fireworks and the tsunami of feels to life.. well done Kylie and Eric.. and let’s hope you record every single future book too. (Yes, KA says she IS going to write Truth, Slice, Straight and Cale’s stories YAY big smiles and a happy dance.. but we may have to be very.. very.. very patient for them!! ☹️😥).

WORTH A CREDIT? ❤️ YES ❤️

Gunny & Avery

What a good book. There were two small disappointments with this book but nothing that would keep me from listening. One.... there wasnt much sex in the book. It took place once in the beginning of the book and then near the end. That scene was🔥 Second, I hate when it's near the end of the book before feelings are really shown although this couple lived together for months so it wasnt that bad. It was a good book especially near the end. It was so heartbreaking and brought tears to my eyes. Alan did an amazing job with that scene. He and Kylie did an awesome job. I love listening to the both of them especially when they are doing duet narration which this book was. I wanted there to be more books in the series but apparently this is the last one. I would love to hear Truths, Slice, Straight and Maddie and Kale's story but I'm betting we'll get theirs because too much highlighted on them for there to not be so hopefully a new series starting with them. I highly recommend reading/listening to this series and better to do so in order.

Dreamy sweet guy turned into an unlikable jerk

Gunny was a great guy in Lock and Load. Loyal, loving brother to Lock, supportive of Lock's woman and child while he was captured and good brother to his club. This story turns a dreamy sweet guy into unlikable jerk.

This story turns him into selfish petulant child. Gunny is unable to happy for his actual brother, he regularly hurts him and his wife. He bails on his biker brothers and parents too. His obsession with his brother's wife leads him to sleep with woman that looks like her. He even calls her by her pet name as they drift off to sleep.
Opps pregnancy is predictable plot twist. How does the the woman get past learning she was substitute for his sister-in-law? By allowing the woman to make her up to look even more like her? The new look magically breaks the spell and makes him see and want her? Yuck.

Oh yeah and his brother is totally cool with the fact his brother held such a torch for his wife that he found a look alike to take to his bed. Let's not forget that his wife acts as if she is totally clueless to what it means to see her virtual twin trying to win Gunny's heart and holding his child. Yet she loans her a dress and makes up to look even more like her to help her get her guy? Gross.

Nothing about this story is okay. His sick obsession with his brother's wife, her acceptance of it and willingness to try to look more like her to make him want her. He routinely sexually waffles with her giving her hope for more than selfishly takes his affection away. She is so damaged and alone in the world that she willing to lick his boots to get scraps of affection from him. So much so that she is willing to make herself look more like the woman she believes he really wants but can't have? She's doormat that never grows a spine. Right up to end, she questions if she is what he really wants or if it is his sister-in-law and that is just sad, not the makings of HEA.

Enticing

This one was so much more emotional, Jax had a lot to learn about himself, and Avery had a traumatic past to overcome, but together can they get through what comes at them and the Demented Sons?
This was thrilling, hot, and just makes you fall even more in love with this MC!
