Publisher's Summary

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Tijan comes a new story in her Bennett Mafia universe...

Jonah Bennett wasn’t like his family. The mafia business was firmly what his brothers did, not him.

That changed the day a rival family killed his fiancée.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new listeners, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

Short but so so sweet…

I so enjoyed reading this one. It packs a good story but it leaves me wanting more pages. The story is complete. It was just so good, I did not want it to end. Highly recommend the book and the audible. Loved listening to it as I read it. Now I am going to listen again as I get caught up on duties around the house. HEA, no cheating, no cliffhanger.

Narration Nightmare!

I absolutely adored Tijan and everything she writes. Being an audiobook junkie, I feel like I can confidently say I have heard hundreds of narrators over the years. But this title was absolutely horrendous to listen to. I couldn't take it anymore and at chapter 5 I had to turn it off before it ruined the story for me. I love the Bennett family, so I will make sure I finish this story. But it really sucks to have to ask for a refund from one of your favorites!

As Always, Happy Reading!

5 plus⭐️Story-Narration👎🏻

Let me start by saying Tijan is an AMAZING writer. It’s her choice of narrators that’s my problem. This is like my 8th book of hers I’ve read, many I reread several times (Teardrop Shot♥️♥️), but especially with this book I realized how much narration effects the actual story. I read Bennett Mafia prior to this and that’s when I began to realize the effect of her choice of narrator on her writing. IMO many of her books would be a solid 5 stars if her choice of narrator could have a do over. My recommendation is to read this book if narration gets to you. Most of the time I can ignore the narration simply because I don’t have the time to actually read a book, that being said I can admit that the breathy male narrator was a👎🏻. (But again this story and Bennet Mafia are a solid 5⭐️!)

Wish I'd have read instead of Listened

I have been waiting ever since Bennett Mafia came out, for more of this world, specifically the brother's books. Unfortunately I was a little let down. It seemed like most of the first half of the book, Jonah was pining away for his lost love, then there was a good quarter of the story, where we got mafia and kidnapping and sexy tension. But it quickly flipped to them being separated and both unhappy. If I'm going to have a romance book, I need to feel their love, and other than their aforementioned tension, I didn't get much connection at all between these two.

I listened to the audio book version, and I'm sure that doing this put me even more off their story. The male narrator, who I've never heard before, was overacting and had a weird cadence to his reading, it just didn't work for me at all. I did however like the girl parts, thought she did a great job.

Wish this would have been little longer

It was nice to visit Bennet mafia family again. That said, I wish this story would have been full length novel, not a novella. Story seems at times too rushed. Or then the grief in the beginning was too strong that the new falling in love felt too sudden. But like I said, I enjoyed the story and the visit to the Bennett family world anyway. Narration was ok, male narrators habbit of pushing air out in the end of each line was little annoying, but durable. I recomend this story to fans of Tijan and Bennett Mafia -book.

Jonah (sighs)

I loved Jonah. My only problem was how conflicted he was being sometimes, like make a choice and stick to it. I loved how he refused to abandon his siblings for the life he really wants to lead. Especially knowing they would honor what he decides. I feel like the narration could have been better, but it wasn't that bad.

Such an emotional and romantic story!!

This was so great!! It was very emotional and I thought the narrators did such a great job portraying that emotion!! Benjamin Charles had me in tears when he read Jonah’s part.
Tijan never lets me down, she’s an amazing writer!!!

Cute

I wish it’s a longer book because I love Jonah! I’m glad he has his happy ending. Benjamin and Holly did an excellent job at narrating

at last

I've been wishing for this story for awhile. I didn't disappoint. Jonahs happiness and love are ripped from him in an act of violence. Carson is unwittingly thrown into the lives of the Bennett Mafia.

A great intro to Tijan's Mafia books.

All of the 1001 dark nights books are windows into established worlds written by authors. They are standalones and give you a little sneak peak into a series.

Jonah isn’t in fact Mafia but his family are and he is caught up in the fall out of the family business when his fiancée is killed by a rival family. Carson shows him kindness but a series of “coincidences” throw them together and a fast paced novella is the result.

With plenty of action and a decent dose of steam. This was a great little listen.

Both these narrators are new to me and did a bang up job of nailing Jonah and Carson. Holly gives us the caring Carson who hates being played and Benjamin has this deep raspy tone that emanates power. Another great audiobook from Tijan and a great introduction to her Mafia books. The body count isn’t as high as her recent release CANARY but I still loved it.
