Publisher's Summary

The Seventh Book in the USA Today Best-selling Series

Jonas isn't the kind of guy to submit to the expectations of others, even when his life is on the line. So when he wakes up in the cell of a dungeon with torture devices hanging on the wall, he can only think one thing: This should be fun. What he didn't expect, however, is the beautiful but broken female pitting herself against his resolve. For once, the pain of his past is shallow in comparison to another, and he wants nothing more than to extinguish her pain.

When Sasha realizes one of her own has been taken, the gloves come off. Using her ever-expanding resources of both human and non-human magic workers, she sets out to battle the most advanced, most experienced magic worker in the world. Regardless of being completely outmatched, Sasha and Stefan rush to Jonas' aid.

Love

I love this series and Jonas does not disappoint. I just wish these books were longer. Seems like everyone gets shorter and shorter. Looking forward to the next book.

Very good

I enjoyed this book immensely, but it now appears that the series is over. Ms. Breene does a wonderful job with creating endearing characters and enthralling scenes. The entire series is very good, and this book involving Jonas and Emmy continued to live up to expectations. The narrator did a fantastic job with providing unique voices for each character and appropriate tone inflections for each scene.

Jonas

I loved the storyline featuring Jonas, and the battle for controlling territory. Certain deaths surprised me, but doesn't take away from the story. Excellent narration, I would recommend this book and series.

Awesome

I don't know why some people said this book wasn't as good as the rest, because it was GREAT. I felt like I really understood Jonas and connected with him. That's what this author is good at. Yes these books are short, but that's why they aren't drawn out to create "tension " .

Jonas dissappointing

The Jonas book seemed promising of a steamy mysterious alpha male who falls in love. But it was too short & more focused on the magical feuding instead. There was so much easy opportunity for a deep attachment for this book’s character. But the romance was rushed & barely touched upon. Disappointing & too short.

I waited so long to get the real story on Jonas!!!

Oh Jonas! I was so excited to read your story and you did not disappoint! I love you even more now than before. Jonas was a rough and tough character throughout the series but I sensed he ran deeper than that. I am so glad I was right! I am so happy you finally found your HEA! If you haven’t read the Darkness Series you are missing out and this by far was my favorite book of the series! This story was action packed and still had a lot of spice.

Finally!

I love this series ro pieces. The characters are all about nutty and I get that. They feel like my people. But Jonás was a bit of an ass. I know he needed to be but finally, freaking finally, you get to see why. Why he’s a hard arsed mean boy.

It’s also good to see a different side of him. The man he really is shine through. As always, he’s here for a good fight, a few laughs and to torture Charles. I can’t wait for more.

not worth credit

I may have liked this better with a different narrator...I should have remembered from a later book in series I read first. she makes the lead men sound stupid, and the women sound weird. This is not kf breeze at her best, her other sin series and magical midwife series are much better/smarter/interesting- and really great narrators. the storyline in these ones, particularly later ones in series are pretty boring, but this maybe especially so - and the whole "pain is sexy" is just not my cup of tea, and don't see how it could be for anyone with good mental health.
