Publisher's Summary

Join bestseller Portia MacIntosh for a brand-new laugh-out-loud, feel-good story, guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

Billie is looking forward to a quiet, man-free Christmas. It’s just a shame her family doesn't feel the same way…

With a house full of unexpected (and unwanted) guests, Billie needs to find the perfect escape to get away from the chaos.

So when her dating app recommends a week of singles nights in her area, Billie decides that braving these events has to be better than making conversation with her dad’s new wife, dealing with her mum's mid-life crisis or witnessing her sister flirting with her insufferably arrogant next-door neighbour.

While this is definitely not the festive season she had planned, between disco bowling and boozy bingo, little does Billie know that she may find love this year after all—she'll just have to date and see...

Fall in love with the perfect laugh-out-loud festive story from top 10 bestseller Portia MacIntosh.

So funny

Loved this book, so many laugh out loud moments. I thought it would be a predictable rom com but it really has some great twists that made it great.

totally unrealistic

nobody is this stupid. "I'm here with friends" understandable, vs the foolishness of running between tables. usually I really like this author, but this book was frustrating in the stupidity.

Probably her best book

Going into a Portia MacIntosh book, you know everything is going to turn out okay at the end and usually the bumps in the road are caused by people making stupid assumptions. Not in this book! I almost stopped listening about half way through because the awful just kept piling on to the point I was too anxious about what the next terrible thing would be. It was my personal circles of hell in a book. Well, I’m glad I made it to the end, it was worth the journey, especially the wooden spoon.

Good light read

The mood of the story is nice … not too intense and true to todays dating scene. Portia has had more interesting plots; this definitely isn’t as funny and sentimental as some of her other books

Hilarious

Love Portia's books, and Karen's narration is brilliant. Have listened to previous titles but thought this was the best with clever story, many surprising twists and the writing causing me loads of serious LOL moments.

Laugh out loud funny!

This book is truly hilarious! Had me screaming with laughter so many times. Yes, one scene is definitely inspired by the movie Mrs Doubtfire, but it didn't make it any less hysterical.
I relisten to so many of Portia's books over and over already, and this one will definitely be added to that list. It's just so good!
Brilliant writing, and, as ever, fabulously narrated by Karen Cass.

Easy listening

It’s a light, easy book to listen to. Proper, fluffy chick lit.
I like Portia’s writing, though every single book of hers seems to have the words ‘let’s do it/this’ in it somewhere, and the characters always ‘puff air from their cheeks’ at some point too. But other than that they’re sweet and funny and charming. I didn’t see the twist in this one so that kept things interesting towards the end.
Karen Cass does a good job of narrating too.
Overall, if you’re after something light and fun, and festive (very Christmassy vibes), then I’d give it a go.
