Story
Towards the end of the 19th century and for the first few years of the 20th, a strange invasion took place in Britain. The citadel of power, privilege, and breeding in which the titled, land-owning governing class had barricaded itself for so long was breached. The incomers were a group of young women who, 50 years earlier, would have been looked on as the alien denizens of another world - the New World, to be precise. From 1874 - the year that Jennie Jerome, the first known "Dollar Princess", married Randolph Churchill - to 1905, dozens of young American heiresses married into the British peerage....

Her role as Alexis Carrington Colby in Dynasty brought her to peak stardom, a role which might have been created for the tempestuous, strong-willed, and passionate woman that she is. As might be expected, in this memoir, she tells the truth; from her romantic adventures - sometimes desirable, sometimes disastrous - with some of the most famous and interesting men in the world, to the inside story of her fascinating and erratic acting career. Publisher's Summary
In 1983, at the age of 75, her career cresting, the four-time Academy Award-winner opened the door to biographer A. Scott Berg, then 33, and began a special friendship, one that endured to the end of her illustrious life.
Here are the stories from those countless intimate conversations, and much more. In addition to recording heretofore untold biographical details of her entire phenomenal career and her famous relationships with such men as Spencer Tracy and Howard Hughes, Kate Remembered also tells the amusing, often emotional story of one of the most touching friendships in her final years. Scott Berg provides his own memories of Katharine Hepburn offstage: quiet dinners in her town house in New York City; winter swims (she swam, he watched) in the Long Island Sound at Fenwick, her home in Connecticut; weekend visits with family members and dear friends...even some unusual appearances by the likes of Michael Jackson and Warren Beatty. Finally, Kate Remembered discusses the legendary actress's moving farewell, during which her mighty personality surrendered at last to her failing body, all the while remaining true to her courageous character.
Kate Remembered is a book about love and friendship, family and career, Hollywood and Broadway, all punctuated by unforgettable lessons from an extraordinary life.

A treat for Katharine Hepburn fans
This is a wonderful story of a friendship with this remarkable woman. I've always admired her, and truly enjoyed A. Scott Berg's insights and stories. It is made even better by the masterful narration of Tony Goldwyn. When he quotes Katharine Hepburn, you don't have to know who the book is about to recognize the "voice".

Worth a listen
Although it begins a little slowly, this is a fascinating look at Hepburn through the eyes of someone who knew her well in later life. It's not the usual celebrity bio, in that it focuses on Hepburn's strong friendships and her relationship with her family as well as the Hollywood years. The narrator does a good job of evoking the voices of Hepburn and others.

TRULY HEARTWARMING
I don't usually read nonfiction but this one caught my eye because I simply adore Kate Hepburn. A. Scott Berg did a wonderful job of bringing out the real Kate Hepburn for everyone to know. I don't think anyone can go wrong purchasing this book. It was over before I knew it and I found myself wanting more of the Hepburns and Mr. Berg to write it.

A "must listen" for Kate fans!
This boigraphy flows very well and narrator was engaging. The author depicted the real Kate to be just as strong as the characters she played onscreen. Author did not emphasize any significant event or traits that shaped Kate's personality and character from which one could learn and model themselves, however it was a pleasant listen that I think any fan of Kate would enjoy.

Why Do I Bother
I keep buying these kinds of books and am always dissappointed. I love Hepburn as an actress. But this author seemed to be trying to say "See how wonderful I am because I knew her." He wasn't wonderful just for that. And as much as he offered personal insights, it is not a thrlling biography. Watch her movies to be entertained by her, rather than reading this book.

Fascinating look at Hepburn’s final years.
Hearing well regarded actor Tony Goldwyn narrate “Kate Remembered” brings authenticity and a bit of excitement to Berg’s words. I was caught off guard when I heard Goldwyn narrate Hepburn’s words in a Hepburn like tone but he pulls it off! Highly recommend.

Too much Scott Berg
I enjoyed this book for the most part however the author pushed himself into the book too much. He tries too hard to let everyone know about his opinions and his friendship with K.H. more than he focuses on K.H. herself. The narrator did a great job, and makes the book more enjoyable than it would have been without him.
