Starting the Ketogenic Diet - An Informative Guide
An audio presentation that serves to guide the listener in the various types of Ketogenic Diets, their differences, and specific approaches. In general, the book entails the scientific, physiological changes the body assumes to produce weight loss in this dietary method, the type of foods to be consumed, macronutrients with desired ratios, and food suggestions. The book provides a good basic approach to a popular diet trend that is often misunderstood, but by no means is all inclusive in its three hour presentation. Gives the listener the fundamental concepts necessary in understanding the diet with adequate guidance to inform without overwhelming individuals who are new to the diet plan.
Narrator Mike Cranes does a good job of narrating the dietary lifestyle even though at times the information is somewhat “dry” and difficult to present with any significant emotion. I would recommend this audio to any “Keto Beginner” as it addresses the Ketogenic Diet approach with variations for individual tastes and dispels much of the myth associated in this dietary lifestyle that the diet industry has perpetuated.

This is where you should begin...
Although the Ketogenic diet is gaining in popularity, it is still very much h under the radar in a broad sense. This book looks at the science behind the Keto plan, and explains why and how our bodies are designed to be fuelled by fat, rather than the carbohydrate narrative that is a popular mainstream opinion.
Over the coming years I expect the ketogenic diet to become more mainstream, as people come to understand the logic, and begin the realise some of the health benefits that are outlined in this book.
Some great ideas for meal plans are included here, and some good advice on how to keep the focus in the early stages.
Overall, this is a superb place to start for anyone who wants to take the first steps towards a healthier body.

Informative
I have been wanting to go on this diet for a while but I thought I would read about it first before making a decision. And this book is a good start. It explains things in a scientific way so you understand why you are eating what you are eating.
It also advices you on how to stay focused the first few weeks which is understandable becuase they are the hardest and it also has recipes to try.
I really liked it and it was easy to understand. I would highly recommend it.

I enjoyed the science included, as someone that has studied sport science and nutrition I like the theories and facts and to have the health benefits presented.
When anyone is looking at transitioning to a new diet they have to believe that the foods are easy to obtain and preparation achieveable which this book makes you realise it is.
Also you want recipes that are flavoursome and tasty to keep you interested and not downhearted that you following something strict, meal plans are explained to show you that.
Also mentioned is the mistakes people make so you know to be wary.
A very factual book that I listened to via audio.
I would certainly recommend it to anyone with a interest in this diet.

For a beginner to the Keto diet this really is a must listen. In clear, concise, language it takes you through the whole subject in a no nonsense and highly informative way. The narration is excellent, at just the right pace. It covers the pros and cons, comparisons to other diets and gives an honest appraisal. At the end are some mouthwatering, easy to make meal ideas.
