⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I can't remember the last time I have been so equally elated and upset to pick up a new series. I didn't want this book to end. The plot, dialogue, saucy moments, to the narration was everything I could have wanted to happen with these characters. I listen to audiobooks so that I can multi task, but in this case, I spent 8+ hrs glazed over with a stupid grin on my face like a dummy as I reenacted the characters moments in my head. The next book can't come out fast enough. I highly recommend this series!

Holy YES

Good and holy grief. As if the first one didn't completely obliterate my soul, this one finished the job. Beyond brilliant, beautiful, twisty, and so delicately entwined into a half dozen little surprises and shocks at the end that make you gasp. This is by far one of the best series I have ever read. While I normally prefer hardbound paperback (being the book hoarder I am), I cannot recommend this book as an audiobook more vehemently. It is easily the best audiobook composing I've ever experienced. The accents, the tones, the music surrounding certain scenes - bravo. Naturally, this is highly recommended.

I get the seven deadly sins but…

Isn’t this YA book? I’m a 33-year-old adult And I’m not overly religious or anything and I totally understand seven deadly sins and I actually like the first book but what the hell is the smut?! This is basically a soft core porn and I got it in my YA monthly book box fairyloot…at least the first one never even imagined how disgusting the second would be … This is so disgusting it was cringe worthy! if you want to go into porn, the go into porn. if you want to be a writer then actually gain some talent instead of writing soft core porn that I have to skip through minutes of because I can’t stand the cringe, let’s not even go into the fact that this is emotional and mytical sexual abuse that wrath is showing to Amelia ! way to go! giving young adults a role model display disgusting behaviors that we already have way to much of in this real world. get a real job if you don’t know how to write. Honestly be thankful I’m not a teenager or the mother of one because this is honest to God like awful I’m not even gonna lie and I’m into this kind of stuff usually but when it’s labeled for adults not fucking teenagers who are impressionable and moldable at best and molding them into something who just openly accepts emotional and sexual abuse is really messed up. if you’re a parent do not let your child read this I couldn’t even stand it and I’m 33 and like I said I thoroughly enjoyed the first book but I thought Amelia was going to be a heroine not a whipping post for yet another man. And yes I know he was trying to teach her to protect yourself but that is not how you do it fantasy or not people go to years of therapy for this kind of crap. Likely won’t be buying the 3rd book. I’ll be getting my credit back.

A little disappointing.

I absolutely loved the first book.

That being said, this book was a slow burn that I did not find pleasant. The plot was a bit all over the place. Emilia had too many theories she wanted to explore and way too many missions/tasks. It was a bit hard to understand exactly what she was trying to do and which of the missions/tasks was most important.

While I appreciate the few steamy scenes between her and Wrath, I feel that they could have been more tender and descriptive.

Additionally, while the ending did have a few unexpected surprises, it left a sour aftertaste.

All in all, it’s not as good and book one but I will read the next book as I am curious to see how the events that played out toward the end will pan out.

P.S. the narration was just as good as the first book.

Spicy in all the right ways!

This is not a YA book and that what makes it so good! Emilia goes through a lot in this part of her story and I love how it showed her struggles and her growth throughout the book.

And you can never go wrong with more Wrath.

Overall I enjoyed the narrator, story and just general feel of this book. It lost its innocence in all the best ways.

Don't stop!

I wanted to stop this book so many times but I am so glad that I didn't! For me, Emilia is her own worst enemy and I think in this book she's finally seeing that. It's a slow burn but definitely worth it!
