Publisher's Summary

Last night, he was a sexy stranger I couldn't get enough of.

Today, he's my new boss who I can't seem to please.

Bad luck seems to follow me. Last night, I grabbed a drink at the bar near my new workplace.

I met the most sophisticated man when he “stole” my table. We bantered and danced, and I went home with a stranger for the first time in my life.

The next morning, I find out my hot one-night stand is my new boss. Gone is the playful, charming man from last night. Luke Maxwell is all business, acting as if our night together never happened.

He’s impossible to please, but I’m determined to succeed. This job is my chance to prove myself and put my past—and my ex—behind me. I’m not going to mess this up.

But then we go on a business trip together and end up stranded for the night. Instead of discussing our project, he kisses me in the elevator and throws a jealous fit, claiming I’m his.

Apparently, I’m not the only one who can’t forget our evening together after all.

I realize reviews are subjective, and I don't enjoy being negative, but I know I depend on others honest reviews to make good choices. In this case I can't give a recommend. I've said this before in others reviews - narrators can make or break a story. This story is ok - not great - but ok. So it was definitely the narration that killed it for me.

Jacob Morgan narrating alone could have raised the level of this story. I've never listened to any of his stories that he hasn't added depth and quality enriching the experience. I will often choose a story he's narrating for that reason alone.

I've tried many times but this will likely be the last story with Savannah I will buy into. Her overwrought drama is so overdone as to be ridiculous, the breathy (attempt at sexy?) voice and slow cadence pull me right out of the story. It's frustrating to have to change the speed with each chapter change. Her male voices are awful. Again it distracts from the story every time. Sorry to sound so critical but I'm peeved I spent $ on this one. Buyer beware I guess

I need to quit Layla Hagen

Jacob Morgan is amazing but even he couldn’t save this train wreck.

I liked the idea of this family of six brothers but I really need to stop hoping the books will get better. Awful, pointless dialogue, no deep character development, unrealistically cheesy fairytale plot lines and female characters that are always the same annoying combination of sweet, nice, prim, naive and narration by Savannah Peachwood only makes them more annoying, because her voice only makes them sound too overly sweet and plain and with nothing else going on. I also hate how suddenly the characters are SUPER IN LOVE after two chapters, having met each other twice and had two dates and know basically nothing about each other. I would say by biggest issue with Layla Hagen’s writing is she narrates things very simply (e.g. “I ordered chicken saté, Like ordered the venison. We decided to order dessert later.” I mean, it adds nothing. And there is so much pointless detail. In the same breath, “I was astonished.” Or “I was stunned.” The descriptors don’t match either the narrator’s voice or the happenings in the book. “I threw my head back and laughed.” (At something that was not funny). I listen to Meghan Quinn novels and laugh hysterically out loud. I don’t crack a grin during Layla Hagen’s books because her contrived stories aren’t funny, they’re just over-the-top fake sweet. And they speak in overused clichés: “Let there be light!” Etc. So bad. She is an awful writer and I should have quit her three books ago.

Contains spoilers.

All dialogue is terrible. Story line goes like this: Man swears off relationships, woman swears off relationships. They meet and have a one-night stand, and then the next day he turns out to be a famous millionaire CEO of the company where she has an internship. Then she needs a mentor and surprise! He is the mentor. Then she enters a contest and wins. It’s all too-good-to-be-true fluff and one of my huge complaints is she didn’t even include the one-night-stand scene. It’s them in the bar, then skips to the next day. Just a complete swing and a miss.

Sexy & Sweet story

I loved Luke and Megan’s love story in Kiss Me Forever by Layla Hagen who once again gives us a sexy and sweet romance with no drama and lots of love and heartwarming moments. I was hooked on this couple from the moment they met and had their one night stand. They had incredible chemistry and I enjoyed how their relationship developed throughout this book. Luke was sexy and swoonworthy like all the Maxwell brothers are and the way he mentored Megan so she could achieve her dreams made me smile. My heart also melted at the affection and love he has for his niece, Paisley and how serious he was about building her the perfect playhouse. I loved that Megan was a strong and intelligent heroine who wanted to fulfill her dreams in architecture and also help out her aunt financially. I also enjoyed seeing her spend time with Luke’s family and getting to know them. Savannah Peachwood and Jacob Morgan did a wonderful job narrating this book as usual and they brought the characters and story to life. I liked how they were able to bring each character’s personalities to the forefront and convey all the different emotions they experiences. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audiobook and I’m looking forward to Travis’ story next.

I love this series ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Once again Layla Hagen makes me happy. If you are looking for a contemporary romance with low drama and just the right amount of heat, this is your go-to author. I have not been disappointed by anything she has written so far. Looking forward to the next two Maxwell brother stories and then the cousins (I hope).

Easy weekend listen

I am a fan of Layla Hagen’s family series and this book is just what I expected and wanted. Familiar characters from past books, a big family who is involved in every story, likable main characters, just enough steam, very little angst or drama and the perfect length. These are comfort books that I know won’t leave me in a book hangover and will make a relaxing weekend that much better. Jacob Morgan and Savannah Peachwood were outstanding as always and kept me focused on the story and enjoying every minute.

Wow

This series has been amazing, loving every brothers story. They had, what they thought, would be a one together, then she walked into the office to find him sitting behind the desk that sat her boss. Though they tried to fight it the chemistry became to much. She won a competition that would take her to another country, but she knew that she loved him to much to go. A great series.
Narration was awesome too.
