Publisher's Summary

The Kundalini is the vital energy or force in us all. Also known as the sleeping goddess, it is represented as a coiled serpent at the base of the first chakra or root chakra. When the energy of kundalini is triggered, it spreads along the spine via a central canal called Sushumna Nadi. Sushumna is described as a channel along the spine, from chakra to chakra, all the way up to the crown and up to the top of the head. There are many similarities between our physiology and the functioning of kundalini energy.

The Sushumna channel can be compared to the central nervous system. The task of this canal is to connect the energy flow from the first chakra to the last. Likewise, the function of the central nervous system is to relay the signal between the brain and the rest of the body, located in large parts of the spine. Kundalini is the feminine, imaginative, evolutionary strength of infinite wisdom that lies within us all. Typically depicted as a snake turning about three and a half times, Kundalini lies at the base of the spine asleep.

But no regular physician will ever find evidence of Kundalini. It's not something like a bone or a muscle in our physical body.

Nope, Kundalini resides with the chakras and the nadis in the delicate body. The subtle body also contains our energy, mind, and energy patterns plus any emotional blocks. This is where we live - the mental and emotional models that drive our lives.

Picture the chakra system on one electrical circuit, which runs up the spine in length with lights in each chakra. When Kundalini goes up and down the backbone, it moves through each chakra and gives everyone an opportunity to do everything.
