Publisher's Summary

LT has a theory about pets, particularly his Siamese cat. It had been their cat, not just his cat, but that was until he came home one day to find a note on the fridge from his wife saying she had left him.

Recorded live at the Royal Festival Hall in London, this story demonstrates yet again that no one can tell a tale like Stephen King. Available only in audio!

These unabridged selections also appear in the print edition of Everything's Eventual. More unabridged stories from Everything's Eventual are available in Blood and Smoke, Riding the Bullet, "The Man in the Black Suit", and Everything's Eventual.

I thought Stephen King was great, and love to see his humorous side. Very fun book, should make you laugh.

Wickedly Funny

I bought this book because I thought it would be just what I needed to fall to sleep to. Not a good idea! The first part of the book was so funny, I had to stiffle my laughter to keep from waking my husband. Pet owners will love it. And in spite of the humor, Stephen King delivers his usual magic by warping the story into weirdness by the end.

Story Time in London with Stephen King

LT's Theory of Pets is a great Stephen King non-horror story. As his long time readers know, Stephen King is much more than gore. One of the finest straight American fiction authors of our time reads one of his shorts for an audience in London. This audio is a little pricey, even with audible's great discount, for one story that lasts 55 minutes, but it is a must for all Stephen King fans. The introductory remarks by King to the audience get you laughing right from the start and the story keeps you laughing...for a while.

If you are new to listening to Stephen King, I would suggest trying one of the short story collections from audible before coming back to snap up this little gem.

Funny, whitty, with a hint of standard Steven king

What does Stephen King bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He reads this himself and starts off with comedy. Doesn't get dark til the last few minutes but even then, still really good. Not typical King book but if you want a laugh about being married with pets, this is your book.

Love the story, love that Stephen King read it, but still hate the language!

Love this story. Stephen King is awesome reading this to the audience. I love his writing and always have. But I’ve always disliked his gratuitous use of vulgar language. His writing is beautiful on its own, there’s absolutely no use for the “rude” language as he calls it. Just wish he wouldn’t use it at all, but that’s me & not everyone thinks this way. Good story, great start and middle, and disturbing ending. Kind of like the two sentence story we had to read and analyze in English Lit class…never truly know what happens to LuLuBelle and never will.

Amazing 👏

So honestly just listening to Mr. King himself read this short story was worth the purchase. As a short story it was everything I have come to expect of this brilliant author. And while this review may be bias. heck it is bias.. I am after all a "constant reader" 😄
If you are a constant reader yourself and never had the pleasure of hearing him in person. Buy this book.
