Publisher's Summary

"If anyone's body parts go missing, I had nothing to do with it. Laces is the culprit."

Welcome to Hawthorne Asylum. Welcome to hell. This place isn't run by the doctors who make you talk or the orderlies who force you to swallow your pills.

It belongs to them, to the infamous four.

Tabloids, talk shows, documentaries - their faces have been plastered everywhere. Not because of their impressive rap sheets, but because of how they look. And when I arrive, they take notice. Especially their king: Lincoln "Laces" Caster.

He's dark and disturbed. He's controlling and possessive. Exactly the kind of boy I should stay away from if I want to clear my name and get out of here.

From USA Today best-selling author Tempi Lark comes an asylum dramedy romance unlike anything you've listened to before. Due to some strong language and triggering scenes, it is recommended for mature listeners.

decent book

It's not that the book was bad, it was just choppy. I definitely think details matter and a characters back story is key to feel like you truly understand them and understand their choices. The book scratched the surface of the characters back story but honestly it felt more like the intro into a porno than an actual attempt at creating a fulfilling story line. Many times It would switch into Laces POV and I'd be at a complete loss as to why the main character acted like she was. To me it felt completely out of character and an entirely different person between the two POVs. It wasn't a bad book though, and definitely has potential to grow because the storyline had substance. Not the best book I've ever listen to, but not the worst either.

Loved it

Loved it, hated the cliff hanger but I'm sooo glad the story is longer because 4 hours and some change just wasn't enough...yummy in a weird way 😀

I love this book

I had already read the ebook of Laces a couple times, so I knew that I already enjoyed the story. it is completely different to listen to it though, and both narrators did such an amazing job. I absolutely loved how well Samantha and Cooper brought these characters to life, and I can't wait for the next book to release .

Laces

Laces is the first book in the Boys of Hawthorne Asylum series. This book focuses on Gambrielle and Laces. This book is told from dual points of view from both characters which I love, because I feel like I'm in both character's minds.

Gambrielle is sent to the asylum after being accused of the murder of her sister. However we find out her stepfather did it, but he's a corrupt DA, who has everyone in his pockets. During the whole book, she is fighting to get out to prove her innocence.

Gambrielle's first meeting with Laces was hilarious. After that their banter had me enjoying the book. Laces is dark and disturbed, and Gambrielle is the innocent in the asylum. They bond a friendship, but Laces wants more, but Gambrielle is scared to go there. She has trust issues after her stepfather. She's had a rough home life.

I can not wait for the next book in the series! I flew through this one. It was a great book, and I would recommend it.

One sitting kind of read ❤️❤️

The narrators really tell this story amazingly, there voices matched the characters impeccable and made you feel everything needed for a good book. I can say whole heartedly that this book was written very well, I was glued to my screen for the 4 hours it took to read/listen to this book. I can't wait for the rest of the series and such a different consepted (an asylum). It is witty and dark themes but I have read much darker this was a good balanced start to what I hope to be my new favourite series. Definitely give it a try.
