Publisher's Summary

Romance and old secrets beckon in this small North Carolina lake town.

When her parents die in a tragic accident, Molly Bennett and her siblings pull together to fulfill their parents’ dream of turning their historic Bluebell, North Carolina, home back into an inn. Staying in town would be temporary - three years at most - then they plan to sell the inn, and Molly can get back to chasing her own dreams.

Adam Bradford (a.k.a. best-selling author Nathaniel Quinn) is a reclusive novelist with a bad case of writer’s block. Desperate for inspiration as his deadline approaches, he travels to the setting of his next book, a North Carolina lake town. There, he meets his muse, a young innkeeper who fancies herself in love with his alter ego.

Molly and Adam strike up an instant friendship. When Molly finds a long-lost letter in the walls of her inn, she and Adam embark on a mission to find the star-crossed lovers and bring them the closure they deserve. But Adam has secrets he isn’t ready to share. Past and present collide as truths surface, and Molly and Adam will have to decide if love is worth trusting.

Great story, but narration needed more variety.

I loved the story, as I love all Denise Hunter's books, but I didn't like the fact that the narrator couldn't change voices between male and female characters. The brother and the male protag. sounded just like the girls in the book, very girly.

Lake season

The narrator had a sweet voice, but I had a hard time telling which person she was at times. A great story though, I loved how it weaves into the ending.

What an awesome story

What an awesome story, I loved it. It’s kind of 2 or 3 stories in one amazing story. The characters are so real, I stopped for s moment to pray for them. Just a split second but that’s how real they are. The location is so perfect for the setting too. Everyone will Love this story and then want more!

Good start for the series..needs more narrators

Nice enjoyable romantic story, a pleasant read due to no graphic sex or language. It does however need additional narrators. One did not cut it. There are male & female characters and just one female narrator who does not distinguish between them did not work for me. I have always found it so much better when a male voice is doing male characters, Kudos to Ms. Hunter for telling a very nice story in such a tasteful way. How refreshing!! I look forward to the next books in the series (still hoping narration will be better),

Great Story, Bland Narration

The reader makes all of the characters sound like teenaged girls. I couldn't tell sometimes if a man or woman was speaking.

Lake Season

I almost gave up on this story, but I started all over and was able to get totally involved with the story line and the characters c

There were some seriously coincidental elements in the story, but it worked for me.

While I acknowledge that being recorded while reading can have its challenges and I don’t wish to be unkind, I found this reader’s character voices way to high pitched. I kept thinking of little mice (squeaky) voices. To me that was so off putting I almost quit the book, but the charming story got me through it.

Very nice story over all.
