Publisher's Summary

Flying the friendly skies has been more than just a job to me. It’s my home.

Ten years ago I ran away from everything I’ve known and vowed never to return. That is, until my flight is cancelled due to weather, and I’m stuck in San Francisco.

Fate is not on my side when I end up in an Uber ride share with the one man I thought I’d never see again.

Zack Hunt was my high school sweetheart, and the boy I walked away from without a note saying goodbye. Except, he’s no longer a boy. No, this man is gorgeous, intense, and heated at the sight of me.

The anger searing off him is nothing compared to the way my heart pounds from seeing him again. Words are said. Feelings are crushed. But when he invites me in to his bar to hash out our past, I find myself following him in, desperate for more.

The line between past and present is blurred when Zack challenges me to a dare - come back home with him to see what I walked away from.

Call me a glutton for punishment, but I do.

Then I challenge him right back to live a day in my shoes.

We drive home to rediscover the past.
We fly abroad to live in the present.
When we stop moving, we realize we may never have a future.

Layover Lover is a second-chance romance, aligned by fate. Can two lost souls really find love again on a layover? Or do they need to keep flying?

He's a really great guy

A terrific addition to the series. My favorite so far. It takes a some years, some growth(mostly on her end) and some distance, but Zach and Jolene eventually find their way home to each other. Well worth listening to if you need a little HEA in your day.

Cute Story

This was a 1st time author(s) for me. I chose it because I love almost anything narrated by Macine Mitchel and this one did not disappoint. This was by far one of the more realistic stories I've listened to, which was nice. I will be searching for more by these authors and narrators.

Nope

I have been with my husband since we were teenagers and if he did what the ml did, I would never forgive him. I don’t get how she got over it so easily. Nope not for me! Hard hard hard pass! I hate books where the guy gets away with everything but the girl does she be little thing and has to pay penance. Yuck! Not the book for me

Good story

I liked the plot and it’s execution was alright. I don’t know, maybe more story could have been told. That’s why my stars are what they are.

Really good story + Really great narrators = 5*

What happens when you run into your high school love 10 years later in an Uber? This book right here! A wonderful story of second chance at love with not a lot of unnecessary angst! Maxine Mitchell and Christian Fox might just be my narrator dream team.

A fresh take on a second chance

This was a great second chance romance and it was a fresh story. I didn’t feel as though I’d read it before. The story, writing and characters were well-done.
Maxine Mitchell always turns in a very good performance...although I do wish she’d tone down the vibrato in her voice just a bit.
Christian Fox continues to amaze. He is so talented. His voice really does become the character. Superb.
These authors are new to me. I will be seeking them out going forward. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Devoured this book in 1 afternoon.

I’m not usually one to write reviews but I absolutely had to give the writers their credit. This book is amazing with enjoyable, fully fleshed out characters who embark and a beautiful journey to revive broken hearts and amend past mistakes. I cannot tell you how relieved I am to read a book with a well liked and well written female lead. She’s not overly dramatic, foolishly in denial or childish as so many are. She’s lovable, fun and romantic yet practical. The male character is kind, sweet and truly the kind of man we hope to date ourselves in the real world.
The narration is also top notch. I’m never disappointed listening to Christian Fox. Maxine Mitchell is a bit newer to me but she did a fantastic job as well.
The name of the book truly does the story no justice at all. Maybe that’s why I passed it several times during my Audible perusing. I’m glad i finally gave in.
Lastly, the length of the book was perfect. It was long enough for the story to be written with depth and meaning but short enough to avoid dull moments and time fillers. Every moment was necessary to develop the storyline further. I never wanted to skip ahead due to boredom. Not once.
I 100% recommend this book.

Sounded so promising !

Quite how the best narrator ever Christian Fox/Zach Villa got to narrate a book with the worst female narrator ever is beyond me. Her forced style, over emphasis on certain words, her loud intake of breaths between sentences is such a contrast to the creamy silky smooth Christian Fox, it's jolting. To make matters worse, Fox only does about 25% of the book. He was my reason to chose this book, and him having the minor role in narration caused this boat to sink completely, as I could not endure another minute of her.

The story started off strongly, and moved along well with good drama and above average content till 3hrs in, when stupid starts to creep in.

I was unable to finish this story. It was like someone had poured Marmite on my Wedding Cake, which is OK if you like Marmite.

I did not enjoy this book.
