Leadership is a term that people perceive very differently. Most think of CEOs, managers, and coaches and while that is of course true, it is much more than that. A leader is a person who goes in front of new projects, ideas or trends, and who can direct others towards a common goal. It doesn’t even have to be on a big scale. Remember that teacher who sparked your interest in mathematics or literature? Or your father who motivated you to do your homework when it was difficult? Leaders can be found everywhere in society, and you don’t need a big title to become one.

As an executive coach, I use books as neutral way to get a person to think things through more deeply. Self-deception is a tough subject. It is not the role of a coach to make such judgments, yet it may be appropriate to provide material to challenge a person.

If you are looking for the latest fad- this is not the title for you, just time tested, proven through experience, biblical insight from a man who has lived it and observed it. What l like most from the book is the focus on what Jesus Christ said, and showed on leadership while training his disciples. Edwin gave me insight into the quick fix mentality in the midst of the anxiety world I am involved in with family and multiple ministry settings. I want a pill, bandage in the form of a painless quick fix. I am driven to film rescue and save. Most other leadership books only touch the peripheral symptoms of bad organizations/leaders. This books gets to the heart of it: chronic anxiety and the herd mentality that ensues.
