Perfect for children and adults!

The native speaker, who tells different stories, has a neutral, natural Russian accent that is easy to understand. Listening to the delivery multiple times (if desired) will make it easier for children to mimic the accent. This is especially useful for families where children are learning languages that are not spoken by their parents.

Great medium and relevant level

Many of the stories I read in textbooks during my studies were informative and helpful, but I wasn't convinced of my communication skills. I wanted to improve communication with the people I work with and see every day. This audiobook has helped me a lot in building simple sentences and using proper grammar when talking about everyday situations.

Highly recommended

I bought this audiobook for my 3 children. It is not easy for them to learn Russian as there are thousands of words to learn. Thanks to this audiobook, they were able to learn a lot of words while it's funny. The stories are amazing and many have morals so you will get values too!

The best audiobook for learning Russian

I've heard a lot of recordings of speaking Russian and that's by far the best. I learned more than anyone else combined. Not only does it give you a long list of words and phrases and good luck trying to memorize them. It will teach you Russian.

An authentic way to learn Russian as a beginner

What I love about this audiobook is that the teacher uses a fun style of teaching with stories and exercises that includes a Russian teacher to help you achieve an authentic accent. This program is an amazing resource that teaches Russian pronouns and prepositions in a natural and authentic way.

Natural and pleasant

The voice used in the stories sounds natural which makes it pleasant. The questions are like any other exercise, but to answer them you must have paid attention to the content of the story and any new words that came up. Therefore, active listening and understanding are required.

Not the simple introduction I was looking for.

I was hoping for a simple introduction to Russian, that is suitable for children. A bit like Dora the explorer if you will. However, to understand this book, you and your children already need a good grasp of the language. The PDF that comes with it may be helpful to children who can already read and write and understand Russian, but was of no great help to me. I was very much overwhelmed and couldn't follow along, especially as the narrator also read rather rapidly.
If you are looking for a simple introduction to Russian, this is not it. If you or your children already have strong basics, I reckon it's great.

A must buy. Thank you Kristina!

This audiobook is excellent value for money and it’s easy to see that the author has put a lot of hard work into these stories. I tried to find contact details of the author (Kristina Silvestrov) to thank her for her work and to ask her if she is planning on releasing anymore of these great books as they are extremely useful for Russian language learners. I even contacted Audible customer services but there weren’t able to give me any contact details. I hope that she does release more. Please find my review below.

Purchasing the Audible book gives you access to an accompanying PDF, of the written story. This makes the purchase extremely good value for money, and whilst some authors of books include audio with their book, a lot of books now sell both the audio and book separately, which means it can get very expensive. So this PDF is extremely appreciated.

There is a good amount of stories, and not only this, each one also has a good length to it. They are not rushed short stories but in-depth stories. I also like that there are no stress marks on the text. I understand why some learners may want them, however I feel that it is best to learn how to read real Russian without the stress marks and to learn how to pronounce each word, this is very easy to do with the audio. I also appreciate text without stress marks as I copy the PDF text into a reader app that I have that allows me to read the text and to highlight unknown words, to easily translate them.

This Audible book has a separate track for English and Russian. This is extremely useful, especially as ones Russian improves and they have no need to listen to the English (which can waste a lot of time, as it’s or easy in the PDF and if you have a higher level of Russian one would not want to have to listen to English) this is great as one can just select to listen to the Russian. Equally, because of the way this Audiblebook has been set out, someone could reverse learn, I.e. from Russian to English.

Learning through reading and story books (with audio) is one of the best ways to learn more vocabulary and to improve your abilities in that language. I would guess the level of these audiobooks is around A2/B1. (I class myself as A1 and found some of it a little difficult currently but with mass exposure to content around my level through books like this I hope to improve)

The format of the books is absolutely perfect, and I like the layout a lot. And I would recommend anyone serious about learning Russian to try this fun method of learning with these great stories.

I purchased all three of the books from this author and hope that Kristina continues to release more, as I will for sure buy them. I will also recommend these audiobooks to others learning Russian. I hope this review was useful to someone and many thanks to Kristina Silvestrov, Спасибо большое!
