Publisher's Summary

Are you looking for a more exciting way to learn Spanish?
Are you bored to death of the same old study routine?
Want to make learning Spanish so fun it’s addictive?

If you answered yes to any of these questions then keep reading....

Studies show that the number-one cause of why people quit learning a new language is....

Yes, you guessed it! Boredom.

Language students typically give the same reasons for why they quit:

“I just don’t feel excited about it anymore.”

“I’m bored to death of the same old routine.”

“My textbooks are painfully boring!”

Out of all the obstacles they face, boredom is the language learning killer.

So, what’s the solution?

It’s simple.

Read the next line carefully and try to picture the scenario in your mind. What emotions do you feel when you read it?

“The housemaid's scream is as sharp as the shards of Venetian glass surrounding the corpse.” (Spy My Shadow by Elspeth Antonelli)

If I asked you, “Who screamed?”, “Why did she scream?”, and “What surrounded the corpse?” I bet you could tell me in a heartbeat.

But why so easy?

It’s because it’s so damn intriguing

Emotions like suspense, intrigue, and excitement intensify your concentration, help you remember and retain what you learn, and most important, help you maintain consistency and interest in your language studies.

This book will help you do just that!

Included in this book:

• 12 original murder mystery, thriller, and detective short stories in Spanish

• Exciting stories short enough to listen to in one sitting

• A multiple-question comprehension quiz after each story

• Summaries of each story in Spanish and English

• A Spanish and English vocabulary word list after each story

• Standard Castilian Spanish in every story

• An exciting plot and mystery in each original storyline

And no need to worry! This book is written with beginner to intermediate Spanish vocabulary. It’s specifically written for beginners and intermediate students in mind, and is perfect for any Spanish learner who’s familiar with the basics.

If you’re looking for an exciting, thrilling, and captivating short story book to learn Spanish in a fun and easy way, this is it!

Hats off to the creators, what a great book!

I take Spanish classes once a week but I also like to listen to Spanish audiobooks/courses pretty much every day while in my car and when I exercise. For me, I find that listening to an audiobook is much more engaging than studying a textbook and it helps me to learn faster. I’ve bought other Spanish short storybooks in the past that weren’t very good but this one is refreshingly very well made. My hats off to the creators! The storylines kept my interest throughout the entire audiobook and it included useful vocabulary and great study material that was just what I needed. I just finished listening today and I’m starting again from chapter one to help improve my listening and comprehension skills even more. Great overall experience. Highly recommend!

Great Listen

I'd consider myself to be at a B1 level after about a year and a half. This is one of the best books so far. Interesting and well read. Scott, por favor, escribas más como eso.

Helped Improve my Spanish listening and reading

This is definitely one of the best short storybooks for learning Spanish I’ve come across so far. The Spanish wasn’t too difficult to follow and the storylines were surprisingly really interesting, entertaining, and well-written. (The last story was my favorite. I’ve always enjoyed a great cliffhanger ending.) I originally bought the paperback version of this book and enjoyed it but I also wanted to listen to the stories in Spanish so I could read along to practice my pronunciation. I like how the narrator reads and enunciates clearly so that it was easy for me to follow along. The word list at the end of each story was great because I like to make my own flashcards with the new vocabulary I learn. Overall, a really enjoyable audiobook that helped me learn new vocabulary and sentences and helped me work on my reading and pronunciation. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is also learning Spanish who likes fun murder mystery type stories.

Great stories!!

Enjoyed listening to these fun stories. Would have liked a PDF to read but not available apparently. When listening, the questions at the end are hard to do as it’s hard to remember what letters were selected. Maybe the answer could be the letter and then the wording of the answer.
I had to slow it down as couldn’t keep up with it. It’s not really for beginners. I’m b1 level and found it hard but could generally follow the story. More became clearer with each listen.
Great to have such fun stories with a repeat detective and his cat!
