Publisher's Summary

Special Operative Eric Steele battles a renegade group of bioterrorists armed with a devastating virus in the fourth pulse-pounding military thriller from the New York Times best-selling author of Outlaw Platoon

On a remote mountaintop in Western China, Doctor Ai Liang is about to risk everything and defy the Chinese Communist Party. She and her team have created a terrifying new coronavirus, even more deadly than COVID-19, called C-62 that is capable of killing a person in 20 minutes. But her conscience tells her she must destroy the deadly bioweapon before it can bring devastation to millions. The doctor’s heroic plans are interrupted when mysterious commandos swarm the lab, kill everyone in sight, and take off with the C-62 virus.

Meanwhile, Eric Steele is on a cleanup mission, about to exact revenge on the group responsible for killing numerous alphas and forcing the Program to disband. When justice is served, Steele can turn his thoughts to other pressing matters - namely his long-lost father and his estranged girlfriend, Meg Harden.

But when news of CCP plans to attack US forces reach the United States, the president calls for the revival of the Program to deal with this new threat. Steele is back in action and soon learns that the supposed CCP attack is related to a much more complex plot involving a fanatical Chinese Imperialist group - and the stolen C-62 bioweapon. It’s up to Steele and his team to find out who the real threat is and stop them before they can unleash another pandemic in the form of the deadly C-62 virus on the entire world.

One of the best Eric Steele books!!!

The cliffhanger from the prior book is resolved -- and this is a fast paced and wonderful listen.

Oversexed

Just bc a spy is supposed to be a badass doesn’t give an author the “right” to assume his readers want to have his sexual fantasies scrawled across every f-ing page where women appear. Have some respect and get a better editor next time Mr. Parnell.

Fast paced, Great read

This was a fantastic read for a political junkie. I loved the mix of real life politicians and swamp creatures memorialized into fiction. I laughed out loud at the disgusting Eric Swalwell character. It was entertaining, visual and complete. I can’t wait for the next Steele adventure.

Great storyline but horrible narrator

I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline but the narrator was terrible!! A narrator makes or breaks a book so Sean Parnell needs to find another narrator before releasing his next book. KEEP WRITING

dumb way to end it

really not happy with the ending. cliffhangers have no place in this series. and I am sure there will be another. if there will not be another, again a dumb ending.

R C Bray

The story was good. Probably the best in the series so far in my opinion. The only thing that held it back was the narration. Some of the characters were done well enough I guess, but others sounded more like cartoon characters. Bring back R C Bray already. If they had him back, that would’ve brought this entry of the series up to a 5* rating.

Just a recall from other books

This book may say it has a plot but it keeps on referencing back to previous books the actual plot for this book is a after thought.

Cheesy, meandering plot lines

The story isn't well thought out. The narrators mispronunciation of basic military terms is distracting as well. Forced attempts to include references to far right political dog whistles come off as contrived and add nothing to the story (yes, yes, our hero sleeps on a MyPillow, got it).
