Giant monsters are attacking, and no city is safe!

When Drakon, king of the Kaiju, attacked his home, Eric’s life changed forever. With buildings crumbling around him and giant monsters battling for dominance, he thought he was a dead man. Saved by the sacrifice of another, Eric inherits a rare and powerful gift - the ability to transform into a Kaiju.

Bonded with an AI control system and pressed into working for the United Nations, Eric stands as one of humanity’s last defenders against the Kaiju threat. First, he’ll need to grow in both power and stature if he wants to protect the Earth, defeating Kaiju and absorbing their skills and abilities. Power is not without cost, and the Kaiju he vanquishes linger as ghosts in his mind, each eager to take control of Eric’s body.

Not everyone has mankind’s best interests at heart, and Eric will need to uncover secrets behind his strange new life if he’s to survive. He’ll need every level and fantastical power he can get if he’s going to take on Drakon and cling onto his humanity.

Awaiting book 2!

In short, think of a universe similar to Pacific Rim, but instead of piloting giant robots, you transform into a monster, absorb the monsters you defeat to get stronger and unlock abilities. Monster movies I've watched only helped to fuel my imagination with the descriptions. Book is very enjoyable and I am anticipating book 2, whenever that is. I just hope there is many books in this series. There is a good deal of action in this book as well, rather than waiting long periods to build up to one.

Pros:
- In terms of the leveling up system, think of a simple one as compared to other LitRPG books, Just helps explain how the character gets more power. But you don't have to worry about 5-10 mins of reviewing menus every few chapters.
- Narrator does a fine job of using different accents and voice levels, making it easier to keep track of different characters.
- This different style of LitRPG story is refreshing from the more common books that get repetitive after a while.
- I usually think of books around 12hrs in recording length to be short, but the story progresses constantly with everything that happens. I hope future books keep this up, especially with the quantity of all the monster on monster fighting.
- Thanks to the author for no harems or sexy time scenes. I honestly don't remember any foul language, so I think is kid friendly.

Cons:
- I have no issue with the voice of the main character, but there are times it sounds like the character is yelling when the narrator tries to maintain the accent. I could only tell this when comparing the volume of the character compared to other characters, but I still enjoyed it.

Winning story!

Amazing read! Can't wait for the sequel! Most RPG based stories tend to focus more on status than story, but this one has a great narrative.

Enjoyable First time

My first lit RPG, absolutely wonderful and fascinating. An enjoyable story, and very well read. There was some slight inconsistency with the narrator's choice of using a voice effect, either forgetting to turn it on or off at times when switching characters, but it wasn't much of an issue.

I sincerely hope someone can make this setting a real Tabletop RPG, my friends and I would absolutely play it. Mixing different Kaiju abilities and getting bigger and stronger, just sounds like fun.

Pacific rim and Godzilla fans won’t be disappointed

Awesome giant monster madness! Giant monsters coming up from the center of the earth via gateways, evil corporations with ulterior motives, funky ancient science that takes certain people and can allow them to harness the powers of the kaiju and transform themselves in order to defend humanity. The MC is very relatable, the plot is well done, battle sequences are awesome. The level up and power gain system
Is quite unique. Loved it! I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher

Kaiju Plus Game STATS for the win!

DUDE!

I love the idea of fusing Kaiju and Gamelit. The fact that this book was an utter joy just proves to me that this was a thing the world needed. Highly recommend this listen

Kaiju with a Twist

Its a pretty good story about how humans come to be able to change into Kaiju. Big Multi-national corporation backing a probably stolen bit of ancient tech that allows humans to change into Kaiju. The Kaiju are a bit more varied than Godzilla and crew, which is fine. Glad the science for it was loosely glossed over, as some authors really try overly hard to prove they are more than a geek with a great story idea and dive way to deep into that. Its a fun romp watching Eric figure out all the things he can do and the secrets he learns from talking to the echoes (thats what I thought of them) of the Kaiju he has defeated. All in all a fun listen and I hope he gets a sequel out soonish as they leave a great lead in for the next story.

surprisingly fun and engaging.

if you're after a LitRPG story that isn't too stat heavy, but has enough game.like elements that don't distract from the story then this is for you!
if big monsters doing battle with rpg undertones is your bang then this is for you.
if character development is important to you this has a good steady scale to it.

I am looking forward to more of this series! and the narrative skills if Graham Mack bring Tracy Gregory's work to life in a way that delights my geeky british mind. a fun story for those who love giant monster films!

“Come on ya flappy git, let’s see what you’ve got!”

Thoroughly enjoyable romp. Really easy to listen to and full on Kaiju battles with a great twist on the typical levelling up mechanics.
Really well narrated too with good character voices. Really well suited to this novel!
I really hope there’s more to come!
This is my honest opinion on a free review copy.

A very good Kajiu/Litrpg combo.

This is a really good and original take on the Kajiu genre. The book opens up straight into the action, some people don't like that, but I do. Lots of scope for the story to continue and a great narration as always by Graham Mack.
