Publisher's Summary

“The author and multiple Grammy-nominated narrator whips through this upside-down, utterly debased, genuinely hilarious tale in his iconic, approachable cadence.”–The New York Times

This program is read by author and two-time Grammy-nominated agent provocateur, John Waters. The doyen of deviance and depravity narrates his hilarious novel with masterly skill.

A hilariously filthy tale of sex, crime, and family dysfunction from the brilliantly twisted mind of John Waters, the legendary filmmaker and bestselling author of Mr. Know-It-All.

Marsha Sprinkle: Suitcase thief. Scammer. Master of disguise. Dogs and children hate her. Her own family wants her dead. She’s smart, she’s desperate, she’s disturbed, and she’s on the run with a big chip on her shoulder. They call her "Liarmouth"—until one insane man makes her tell the truth.

John Waters's first novel, Liarmouth, is a perfectly perverted “feel-bad romance,” and the listener will thrill to hop aboard this delirious road trip of riotous revenge.

Is this the Neo-dada?

I love John Waters books, especially when he reads them. This book started out well. I love Marsha’s early adventures but later the story turns very-very boring. Too bad, because Mr Waters writings are funny and sophisticated.

WTF did I just listen to?

Yeah, I get the satire. But.
Ridiculous would be a compliment. I kept waiting for it to come around. Should have stopped listening the minute Richard started talking.

Not for everyone

The description of this book doesn’t really communicate how different it is. I think it will appeal to a limited audience and I’m not a part of it. It is sexually explicit, vulgar in my opinion, and an overall strange plot.

Sick Weird and Fun

John Waters desperately needs some help, but he is one entertaining guy. All you have to do is suspend and sense of reality and enjoy the ride.

I like John Waters but ...

I didn't get it. The narration was great, I liked the storyline involving Marsha, the filth was fantastic. The problem was the incoherent sub plots. I enjoy some absurdity but it has to come from somewhere and end somewhere.

All Hail the Baron of Bad Taste

Hilariously vulgar with eargasms! John Waters is a national treasure. I laughed and I also earned something, who knew that there was such a thing as pet plastic surgery?
