Publisher's Summary

The cats are back!

Her brief return to Earth is at an end, and Florence Valentine is ready to start rebuilding her dungeon.

Florence and Doug have big plans for their new home, but all is not well in the world of Aerkon. A bargain struck with the lich Berikoz may cost her more than she realized, and it seems like everyone wants to see her new home destroyed.

Liches, dungeon pests, evil adventurers, and powerful guilds stand against her, and Florence’s allies are few and far between. Will Florence, Doug, and her kitty defenders be strong enough to protect everything they’ve built?

Very VERY Good

It took the personalities and lessons of the previous book, and progressed, and like a human being, no one fixed everything at once. the stellar voicing continues, and goes further in this by far Andrea Parsneau could've carried this entire story on her back, thankfully it was a cart, and she only needed to drive it!
All in all, this was knocked out of the park!

Needless Filler

This review is probably going to sound quite negative, so I do want to say that I did enjoy the book as a passive listen and don't regret buying it. However, the book was largely a long setup for the next book, and a needless one if that. The first book had the novelty of an elderly woman core, her choices in dungeon design, and her interactions with some interesting adventurers to make it a novel book. In this one, we get nothing new and a repeat of Florence building a "home." There are a few adventurers, but no real connection with any of them except one. There are also a few of the usual bad actors wanting to destroy her core to try to make the book exciting, but it was hard to feel invested in them this time around. The only exciting part happened in the last chapter, and just when it was finally going somewhere new, the book ended. The sad thing is, I think the author probably could have written it so his next book was this second book and skipped this filler altogether. Oh, and the licking skeleton guy is only in one percent of the book so don't expect any excitement from him. My advice is to wait for the third book and then read the two together unless you just want to be left unsatisfied.

Drop in writing quality.

The narration was as fabulous as Andrea Parsneau always is. Her range of voices is simply spectacular!

I loved the first one. But this one, the writing downgraded sharply at the end. Using ‘Plot Stupidity’ to force the desired endgame. Witch I personally consider the greatest writing faux pas, and an authors declaration of surrender to the frustration that often accompanies writing.

more of the same

superb voice acting again but the story really suffers from the limitations it placed on itself. you're a dungeon that can't go anywhere and the first book already did the house building and various flood of invaders. the end may have resolved this problem but the second book itself didn't have much that was new and interesting to offer.

some plotholes, but a fun story

it's a solid entertainment story if you want to listen to a karen cat lady become a dungeon, just expect some plotholes, and some dumb decisions.

cats

the cats are back with a lot of twists and way more action. Florence valentine is back in her stuck up ways and she ain't changing but definitely growing. if you enjoyed the first one don't hesitate to grab the sequel

Great story, but sadder then i like

I loved the books. I'm a cat nut and gamer so I was really enjoying it. But.. the killing was a touch to graphic and it wasnt that bad, but for some reason upset me some. But i had to skip the last 3-4 chapters, To wordy and to sad, had a great build and the end is nice, but I just feel let down. Loved Andrea Parsneau, and would love to hear more stories she reads.

Even better than the first one!

The progression in this one was terrific and had me on the edge of my seat. My only complaint is the next book isn't out yet.

Excellent second book.

Looking forward to the next book in this series. It is an intriguing story and left enough of a cliffhanger to leave me frustrated over not be able to directly buy the next book, but I'll have to wait until when it arrives. I can recommend this so far and has not been disappointed.
