"A heart-stopping, breath-stealing masterpiece of romantic suspense!" (Colleen Coble, USA Today best-selling author)

EMS helicopter pilot Penny Carlton is used to high stress situations, but being forced to land on a mountain in a raging storm with a critical patient - and a serial killer on the loose - tests her skills and her nerve to the limit. She survives with FBI Special Agent Holt Satterfield's help. But she's not out of the woods yet.

In the ensuing days, Penny finds herself under attack. And when news reaches Holt that he may not have gotten his man after all, it will take all he and Penny have to catch a killer - before he catches one of them.

Best-selling and award-winning author Lynette Eason is back with another high-octane tale of close calls, narrow escapes, and the fight to bring a nefarious criminal to justice.

Frustrating narration

I LOVE Lynette Eason and have so looked forward to this book coming out. While I have just begun the audiobook, the story has already sucked me in (as usual). However, the narrator is ruining the experience! She is talking so low that she sounds like she is whispering. The beginning of the book has intense scenes that almost get missed with the whisper-like nature of her voice. Not only that, but she has a nasal sound and, so far, has made the main female character sound like her voice shakes with every word. The male voices are simply annoying. It is so sad that such a good storyline is negatively influenced by the narrator.

Another great one

I have been an admirer of Lynnette Eason’s books for awhile and this book delivers on all the reasons why. The twists and turns keep you guessing and wanting to find out what is next. I love books that have strong women characters and this book has one in the form of a helicopter pilot named Penny. I really hated to have the book end. This was my first time listening to this narrator and I thought she did an excellent job. Thank you Lynnette Eason for bringing these characters alive.

Keeps you guessing

Prepare yourself for so many twists and turns going about a million miles an hour, you would pray that you don’t get whiplash!!
But in all seriousness, I had a hard time pausing this audiobook. It was one of Ms. Eason’s best!
There are multiple subplots that are well defined and easy to follow without being confusing.
On a scale of 1 - 10, I give this book 10++++

I’m so excited to see that it will be a series.

Horrible Narration

I cannot believe for the life of me that this company would think for one minute that this narrator did any good for this book!!! I want to choke the narrator!! She’s awful!!! Worst ever!! Shame on the producers of this book that allowed someone to ruin someone’s hard work!!! The story Wasn’t bad, the narrator destroyed it!!!!

Don't like creepy voices

The reader uses wierd voices when a male is speaking and a wierd attempt at a creepy voice for the predator. I quit listening after the 17th chapter.

cheesy, not worth the money

The narrator is a female William Shatner?🫤
It's an ok story but it really didn't get good until the last 15% of the book.

Terrible narrator!!

The book itself is really good, but the narrator is terrible. She has a slow, stilted, unnatural reading voice and it’s almost painful to listen to at times. I would recommend listening to a sample to see if you could deal with the narrator’s voice before purchasing. This is one book that would be much better by reading it yourself.

HORRIBLE NARRATOR

I really enjoy Lynette Eason’s books. The stories are always very good, faith based, no bad language and no sex scenes. However, the narrator on this one is awful!!! The story takes place in S Carolina, yet she can’t do Southern accents. She also cannot do male voices. I will not purchase anymore books where Sara Sheckells is the narrator. Charlotte North and Callie Beaulieu are much better narrators.

Jerky narration

The narrator is a bit jerky, taking breaths at wrong time. A bit annoying but a great story.
