Having survived the first wave of invading players, Oren now seeks to strengthen his clan. With the Breeder's Den destroyed and most of Goblin's Gorge's resources devoted to rebuilding, his best hope lies in creating an army of golems. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. Another Amazing Book by Shemer Kuznits
Let me tell you. I had extremely high expectations of this book, I was scared it wouldn't live up to it. All my fears were without merit. This book went beyond my expectations!
With Mr Kiznits' writing, Mr Hays narration and supporting roles of Ms. Winkel and Ms.Ellicott, we have an amazing book that deserves 5 stars.
I must say I rarely give books 5 stars, as to me that is an indication of a rare near perfect book. This book is well deserve of that coveted 5 star review! Kudos to everyone involved!
Thank you for such an amazing book!

Decent
Pretty good story following along the same lines as the first. It's an entertaining listen and worth the credit. If you're a fan of the genre you'll like this book. I'm glad there's no harems or anything like that.
I'd have given it a five star rating except for a few things that bugged me.
- Star Trek - Every so often the author disappears into Star Trek metaphor land that to me is like speaking a foreign language, and I have no idea what meaning was supposed to be conveyed with the Star Trek references.
- MC forgets his own abilities. Example: "I promise in my god's name I will resurrect every single soldier that falls in battle." 10 minutes later after the first engagement.... Talks about losing friendly soldiers and the importance of maintaining numbers. No resurrections. Seems like some abilities are intentionally forgotten to make things harder for the character.
- Too much laughing. Sometimes the narrator decided to add laughter which sounded kinda forced. Sometimes it's because the text indicated that people laughed, chuckled, etc, other times it was just added at a point where apparently they imagined people laughing even though it wasn't written. Once in a while was okay, but after a while I started getting a mental countdown after certain words before an awkward laugh was inserted.

I've reset my life again!!!
This is this week’s Soundbooth Spotlight, and man was it fun. Practically 22 hours of goblin goodness to gnaw on. Orin, the MC who is trapped in the game world, is a goblin Dread Totem who is running a goblinish village. The book plays out a lot like the original world of Warcraft orcs vs humans game. He creates new peons who do jobs assigned to them, builds and upgrades vital facilities for the advancement of the tribe, and fights off invaders with his limited militia. I enjoy this aspect more than anything. Granted, I like watching Orin level up and get new powers, but I really love to hear how he adds a new building or upgrades one. Like I say, Tamer by MSE has my attention because the characters are building a fort. The book really deals with a ton of things happening to Orin and his village after the events of the first book. It seems that no matter what Orin does nothing is going to prepare him for the trials to come.
Orin is in deep trouble as his ex-guild members are looking for him, and he has limited time to prepare for their arrival. To top it off new monster players have begun showing up, and it seems that one of them is a traitor. Somebody is going around ganking hapless goblin workers, and stealing vital potion supplies. The urgency of the need to expand, gain experience, and leveling his troops is palpable. To top it off, Orin now struggles to retain his identity as a player. He is sinking more and more into his role as the Dread Totem and losing bits of himself in the process. One of my favorite bits that got added this time around is the mandibled brain eating seneschal that made me envision a hobgobliny Predator. He was a fun character, and Kuznits uses him quite effectively to demonstrate the importance and dangers of reputation in a very slick way.
Another impressive thing is the way that SBT handled this book. Last go around, Jeff Hays did the whole thing himself, now he’s added some of the Sound Booth ladies into the mix, but quite wisely keeps himself on the voices that he did the last time. Annie and Laurie both bring their A game and the sisters of Soundbooth supercharge the story with their sublime storytelling. Jeff is the man, handling more characters than a juggling guillotine operator during the French revolution, I just don’t know how he does it but he has impeccable pacing and knows how to wrap a chapter or add life into a battle scene. He definitely infuses a sense of urgency into everything that Orin does, and lets his smugness play out oh so very well that you cringe when Orin says something so snide that you know whatever it is is going to come back and bite him on the rump. One thing that sort of surprised me was that Jeff didn’t figure out a way to sound fx to the shadow magic. I would have loved to have heard a light wind to a full breeze blowing when Orin used his shadow powers, but that is really just my own personal desires, SBT really nailed the book down and provided some top notch high quality narration.
My final score on this book is 8.3 stars. I like that Kuznits doesn’t spit out shorter books, and that he knows the proper thing to do is to put his MC through the wringer as often as possible. The narration is on a nuclear level, and the overall story is a fun fast paced ride of leveling, struggling to become stronger, and preparing for a point when PC’s will invade the village. This is slick and smooth, and will sucker you in for more hours than you realize. Get this book and enjoy it.
Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. Getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.
If this review helped, please press the YES below. Thank you immensely!!!

Can't Get Enough Life Reset
I admit that I listened to the first book in this series three times and read the hardcopy as well. I was worried that the second book may not live up to my expectations. I should have known better! Shemer Kuznits does as wonderful a job with this instalment as with the first. The series has amazing world building and very memorable characters. I'm very invested in the story and can't wait to see what comes next. Jeff Hayes (along with Annie and Laurie) did a wonderful job with the narration, as usual!

Endless details abt town dev & Earth Racism
I wanted to like this book series and tried to make an exception for all the mundane details about building up a town. There are some interesting and complex aspects about the story that I usually like in a story that not all stories that I've read have. However, in Book 1, the author's main character referenced a satirical movie about college students who were Black being called a "Black Ghetto movie" because he quoted them saying "Run #itch run" was problematic for me. But I wanted to give it a chance anyway hoping that would be the last of it. Then in this book 2 while continuing to listening to long drawn out details about developing the town, I hear "I've always wanted to call someone Blackie." and at that point I decided no.
The humans in these worlds are hardly ever Black, but he still felt the need to say racist things about Black people, who are not included in his story. The amount of focus and effort to continually add statements specifically about Black people in an offensive manner to make the character sound, I don't know, more human, more relatable (?) is offensive. But it is very likely that those type of references do appeal to certain people and these references aren't a problem for them. It always amazes me how sci-fi/fantasy stories can almost always accept aliens and other fantasy characters that look, behave and believe differently, but some still can't accept difference from earth. And usually, the characters ARE from earth. And yet many of these stories focus on living in harmony with the different races within the fantasy world(s).

great sequel
there were some areas that were absolutely frustrating in that oren (or the author) seemed to forget what tools were available to solve problems. There's also the part where the company stops helping and in a way becomes a hindrance; I'm not a lawyer but I'm pretty sure some of their actions could be seen as voiding their contract and leaving them open for crushing lawsuits.
all in all though, the book was a great continuation of oren's plight and wrapped up with some rather spectacular battles. the extra voice actors was also a really nice touch, albeit a little jarring at first.

Another great job by the writer, and reader. This series has it all, building, character skills and traits, and chaos! Just as good if not better than the first story, alot of development and Shemer really goes into the mental state which is a very well done aspect that adds a ton to the story. definitely recommend

A few cliches but otherwise great
I enjoyed the store and overall had a lot of fun. there were a few spots where things got a bit bogged down in cliches but overall it was great.

Once again
The outstanding performance of this story coupled with the story line was absolutely magnificent!I can't wake for the next book!
Faithful fan of—not only—soundbooth theater, but of Shermer kuznits.

I really enjoyed the audio book.
I really enjoyed the audio book. A new spin on magic and the way the system works.. I highly recommended the book. I hope the author is a fast writer...

disappointing
I quite enjoyed the first book of this series and while this book has some good elements it is overshadowed by childish perverted humour poor, goblin sex and sexist stereotypes. It is quite embarrassing listening to the author put so much effort into describing the sexual performance of the main character and his goblin companion over and over again. Seriously what was the author thinking?!

It is a good lit rpg but...
I just can't take the stakes seriously even though the writer really tries to emphasize and flesh them out. Vatras is an absurd character and the book suffers a bit from the constant enchanting bits.
The first book was quite good and perhaps a bit better than this one.
Overall there are better lit rpg stories out there such as the infinite world and the dungeon lord series

Great Series really well narrated
The series is really good and having the mobs be the good guys in this case is brilliant. Narration from SBT is what you would expect and works well with the humour.
Shemar does great with the writing and it shows as you listen just wish everyone did this well with their audios

Astonishing followup to book one!
Sheet Kuznits once again delivers an amazing storyline, which is narrated beautifully by Jeff Hayes.
The buildup, suspense and storyline is executed in a well thought - and planned manner. You can see how different parts of the story ties together in an overaching story, leaving you hungering for more.
Well done and bravo :)!

A self absorbed fantasy
The book is written for the author. Not the reader.
The main plot is dismal.
The main character is a douche.
The romantic stuff is pitiful.
However... The narrators are fantastic.
Otherwise it would get one star. Possibly less.

decent but not as good as the first book
while a decent ride, there were far too many times when the MC acted out of character or too dense to see the blatantly obvious just to further the plot and artificially force tension. along with the lack of consistency in battles, as it seems impossible to tell whether its a slow or fast paced combat system when he just stands there getting hit multiple times without doing anything, again to artificially force tension and push plot along

Darker in tone compared to book 1.
Althrough the plot is a bit contrived and forced. The long runtime and amazing voice acting by jeff hays makes it a worthwhile purchase.
A few things that the novel can improve on in book 3 would be consistency in the game logic, like having a level restriction limit on the sacrificial dagger like being within 50 levels of the sacrifice target otherwise deal times 10x damage or something, otherwise where is the merit in being high leveled.

A Great Follow Up
Keeping on par with the first book, the second continues to deliver and really pulls you in to see where the story is going and your almost driven to find out more. The voice actor continue to deliver.

Enjoyable
Great story so far. Thorough enjoyed it. By the looks of it the next few books are cut from 20hours to 15. I hope they stay true to the story and don’t rush it.
