Publisher's Summary
Having survived the first wave of invading players, Oren now seeks to strengthen his clan. With the Breeder's Den destroyed and most of Goblin's Gorge's resources devoted to rebuilding, his best hope lies in creating an army of golems. But for that, he needs Viridium, a rare metal that can only be obtained from hobgoblin towns, where Oren and his clan of goblins are viewed as nothing more than potential slaves. To make his way in the game, and to defeat his former guild, Oren's ingenuity alone will not be enough. He will need to conquer his deepest fears and tap into his inner monster.

READ THIS FIRST
If you've read through more than 5 reviews then you probably noticed the extremes. people loved or hated. I held off on getting this book for that reason but I'm not really disappointed in pulling the trigger. I think I know why people hated it so to explain,
STORY: The 3rd book goes deeper into the RPG side of the story. the people who hated it for the story most likely are not into rpg games that much I assume. Just like RPG games theres a Main quest or goal and there is 100s of side quest. some side guest further your progress towards your main Quest. This book is exactly that, A side quest that when complete, will get him to where he needs to be. Seems like a dumb and unnecessary quest BUT not all quest can be life changers. The problem here is it wasnt really explained what he was after or why until much later and in the end it seems like a whole lot of effort for something not super important. an entire books worth to be exact.
the ending did feel a bit abrupt and not at all in the direction you thought it would but that could be a good thing.
Narrative; For some AWFUL reason, they decided to go heavy in the YA side and add oddly placed sound effects and theme music. annoying. I like having multiple readers but that's it. quality starts off subpar but picks up after a chapter or 2 bit sound effects are random and throughout. stupid.
All in all it's still worth listening to if you liked the 1st 2 books. If there is a 4th, I'm clueless as to where it's going but I want to find out so obviously the book did its job and keep me engaged.

More Reset please
I must say that I was slightly surprised that this book ended the series. I literally had no idea going in that this would be the last novel, and while I am glad that I got some closure I am sad to see it end. This is a damn good series and I am going to miss it. Want to know what shocked me was how long the first two books are in comparison to the wrap up. Thankfully, this does not feel truncated, and it doesn’t end all in a flowery garden.
In fact, I kept thinking that there was more to come as the book went on. IN fact, I wondered several times how anything was going to be resolved since the other books were over 24 hours in length. Needless to say, Kuznits pulls it off plausibly and entertainingly. Sadly, aside from some liberties taken with a certain shadow, no torture takes place in this book.
The story is set, for the most part in a Hobgoblin city that isn’t too kind to non-hobs and outsiders are treated with less than a modicum of respect. Oren and his team need to establish a trade route in order to help his village survive the upcoming storm of players and along the way we get arena fights, backstabbed deals, some new friends, and a conclusion to the Guy vs the world saga that has been going on since book one. I won’t say who wins.
I have to say that I like that the series did not end on a super happy note and that there were still some questions that needed answered, as it does leave a door open for further novels in the future. The ending, for what happens with the MC is pretty realistic, and in a gritty series where he kept pushing boundaries I’m surprised he didn’t end up pushing daisies instead.
My only complaint is that this book seems like it was rushed to the finish line. Honestly, I was expecting something along the line of maybe 7 books, and that for some reason about midway through Shemer decided he’d had enough and just started wrapping up plot points. Aside from that the book is pretty good. 8.2 stars for a strong finale, coulda been more but there were several things that we readers wanted to know, but never got the answers to.

Sound effects a little overly done at the end
I don't what changed but in the last few hours of the book the narrator went overboard on the sound effects, like adding in pointless music and other crap. It annoyed me enough I almost stopped listening.

excellent storyline
you know I have listened to other lit RPG books and many start to go downhill this is not one of them. the narration performance and story is consistent and keeps on growing I especially like how the environment keeps on expanding in the author is growing this interesting world and the interesting perception of the protagonist. many books such as chaos seed also gloss over what happens to the real body in the real world this book addresses it head-on I love this book I think it is a welcome addition and recommend anyone this trilogy. I also like the hints at the end of the book that will lead into a fourth book. great job

Strange ending to the trilogy
This book does fall off relative to the other 2 in the series. As a LitRPG style book, it follows many of the conventions of this genre, and indeed the world established continues from the other 2 in the series. Without trying to give too much away, I'll try and detail out some of the issues as to why this book has gotten so many negative reviews as compared to the other 2, though you may infer some heavily hinted at spoilers from this review, if not directly outlined....
First off, there is the whole "quest line" as described at the end of book 2- the MC takes a trip to a hobgoblin city to establish a trade route, to eventually try to be able to see the ultimate expression of his sphere golem creations. This whole thing feels little more than a side quest, but fully takes up roughly 2/3rds of the book- it's considerably more tedious and less interesting without the stakes that were in the other 2 books. It's not completely horrible, but it just doesn't hold your interest. Eventually, the "dread totem" continues to build and plan for the betterment of his people and his eventual revenge against his old guild, the "manapulators" in the last part of the book, which is much like the storyline from other 2 books had been headed.
Second, the last big battle in this book is accompanied by a great amount of expanded sound effects, and even a game themed soundtrack that plays alongside the narration during the battle. It's ridiculous and annoying, subtracting from the overall enjoyment of the audio performance as opposed to adding to it (IMHO)- it's just too "over the top".
Lastly, the apparent conclusion to the series wrapped up in the final 2 hours of the book. The V.i. storyline comes to fruition, and the whole plot line of the 3 books takes a radical shift into a new direction. The characters that you invested in over the 3 books are not well wrapped up in terms of their story arc, to the point that you wonder if this really is the end of the trilogy or not. If it is, then it's extremely unsatisfying, as I don't think anyone (with the exception of Vic) winds up with a fully resolved conclusion.
I suspect that we'll get a 4th book in the series perhaps, as this just does not feel like a satisfying ending, but that will be completely up to the author. Exactly what he has planned for this world and these characters from here out (if anything) is anyone's guess.

Good series that falls apart spectacularly
I really enjoyed reading/listening to these books, so it became that much more disappointing by the utter garbage that was an ending. I’m not sure how it can even be redeemed in a 4th book outside of telling everyone to pretend the ending of the third book was a bad totem dream.

Great series, good book, ahhh ending
So big fan of this series and of the length of the first two books.
Characters are entertaining and joyful. It’s a pleasant read and they did a great job enhancement the music and with the extra readers. Throughly entertained.
The book was great till last 35ish minuets then felt rushed. Definitely could of extended the series and done it true justice.
I look forward to listening to whatever new work the author has planned.
As I said great listen, great series, good books.

good book. bad sound effects
Really enjoyed the book and series. while the main speaker can be a little annoying he did grow on me. but sadly there were far FAR more sound effects and auto tuners used in this book which have been a weak spot through the series. without those definitely would have enjoyed it much more.

good narrators, good story, poor audio effects
The story progressed well but the audio effects detracted from the production quality. the narration was good as always but the post production is lacking with too much echo/reverb and inconsistent sound stage. so this is a step back from the production values of the first two instalments. looking forward to the next instalment in the series.

Split into two halves - good start, bad ending
If you are listening to this, it likely means you've enjoyed the first 2 books. The start of this book is more of the same, with the story mostly taking place in a new city, alongside new characters and mechanics. So far so good.
However, after this initial adventure is over, I felt the story was rushed towards its unsatisfactory ending. To me, it seemed an "easy" ending, lacking depth or excitement. It's as if either the author ran out of ideas or decided to move into something new and to end this series.
This book also introduces more sound effects than the previous books. Whilst they don't do anything for me, it does bring something different compared to other audiobooks. Be warned if you like listening to your books at increased speeds though, as it was distort the sound effects.
Overall, if you want closure then book 3 will give you that as it can be viewed as an end to the series. Books 1 and 2 were much better in my opinion. I'm not sure if the author intended this to be the final book, but I will not be listening to any more in this series.

Adequate
The book was just ok, definitely the weakest of the 3. I was surprised at how quickly it ended, I thought this series would go on like the land it definitely had a lot more potential. Seemed the author got bored halfway through and looked how to tie everything up quickly.
Great narration , not keen on the sound effects. Nearly had a heart attack when the first one came with my headphones in

Nope!
Will be a enjoyable experience for most. However In my opinion, this installment felt rushed, so much could have been explored and wasn't, left me wondering if shemer got fed up or just ran out of Ideas. Mostly really missed the detailed settlement development.

An disappointing end to a fun series
I have listened to the entire Life Reset series and this is by far the weakest one of the trilogy. Jeff Hays is wonderful, but Annie Ellicot's voice acting was painful to listen to. I found myself skipping entire chapters just so I could avoid hearing her. This coupled with sound effects that change the voice of one of the main characters of the book made it feel like a chore to get through. The narration at the end was drowned out by over the top sound effects and repetitive music, and leads to an ending that left me feeling dirty and unsatisfied. A true shame, I really enjoyed the first two books but this one felt rushed and overproduced at the same time and crammed in so many extra effects that the soul of the book was lost somewhere along the way.

Decent closing for the story
The story was decent although I liked the first book the most.
The sound effects for the spells and golem, etc. don't really fit imho hence my 4 stars only.
For anyone considering, it is still a well spent credit

Great story for a middle of series book.
The third book of the Life Reset series feels like the third part of any large saga. It reads like it's own small subseries of a much larger whole. The last two books focused on settlement development whilst this book focuses on gaining materials for the clan by completing quests and delving into dangerous battles, both arenas and dungeons.
The plot twist at the end was unexpected and refreshing for plot twists.
The narrator did a fantastic job again at performing all the different voices. The only thing I didn't like was when they used this distorted, underwater voice filter for when the settlement had updates. It only happened a few times but it made it slightly hard to understand.
All in all well done! Can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Sound effects
Alot of uneeded sound effects and the Aussie accent threw me off, I mean as an Australian I can definitely say I ain't never heard an Australian sound like that. But the story is amazing as usual so I'll gladly look past the problems I have.

Compelling and Intriguing
Putting aside the new sound effects and their increased use in this book which I don't think was needed, this book was awesome. Brilliant storyline, was really interested to see where it was going the whole way. Voice actors were really good again but the story was done very well. Excited to see where it goes

Great series, disappointing ending.
I really enjoyed the series and really liked where it was progressing but was disappointed with this book. I am relatively new to LitRPG so these reviews should be taken with a grain of salt.
However, the passion for the story by the writer was evident in the first two novels and then it was still there also a little more diluted in the third. He made a few promises to the reader with certain foreshadowing in the first two books. However the ending of the third book felt extremely rushed, leaving with a particularly unsatisfying ending.
He left the ending open for sequels but I am unsure if I will ever read it, considering the sloppy way it was ended this book.
In saying that I found the world enthralling and the story behind it compelling. I was behind the characters and there were characters that I loved to hate.
I would pass this series onto friends with the warning about the ending, so that expectations aren't high.

Disappointing End or...
For me the premise of him being this high level character is laughable, you are given a small back story of his intellectual ability which is how he achieved his success but as the series progresses it doesn't match up his actions, skill or supposed intelligence which is fustrating. However despite this if you look past this the first and second books set this up nicely I didn't mind this book in sections some bits are just there to move the story and felt like fillers in others I felt compelled to finish all three after starting but was a little disappointed with the ending, it felt rushed maybe to try and squeeze out more? consolation for me is that it does allow you to leave at book 3 if they decide to keep going...

Some sound issues
Sound levels vary from sentence to sentence in some parts which is extremely offputting. It does improve towards the end. The end battle music is actually quite well done and adds well to the atmosphere. Overall a good solid end to this story arc and excellent opportunities for extra books in the future.
