Publisher's Summary

Danger and passion fuse in this electrifying GhostWalker novel from number one New York Times best-selling author Christine Feehan.

GhostWalker Rubin Campos' rough upbringing made him into the man he is today: strong, steadfast, and wary of outsiders. When he and his brother return to their family's homestead in the Appalachian Mountains, he can immediately sense that a stranger has taken up residence in their cabin - a woman who just happens to be a GhostWalker too.

Jonquille is deceptively delicate but clearly a fighter. She also doesn't seem to care that Rubin could kill her where she stands. She sought him out, wanting to connect on their shared interest in electrical charges. One of the first failed GhostWalker experiments, Jonquille can produce lightning with her body, but she can't control it.

Their connection is magnetic, their abilities in sync. Rubin knows she's his match, the answer to a lifetime of pain and intense loneliness. But Jonquille came to him with hidden intentions, ones that threaten to destroy their bond before it can truly begin....

Wow!!!

A few surprises in this one. Loved this latest installment in the Ghost Walker series. We get the story of the elder Campo brother Rubin when he meets his paired mate Jonquille. With these two the sparks will fly. Also in this book, part of a long standing question will be answered. As to subject matter we meet someone just as bad as Whitney if not worse. The concept is mind boggling but makes for an interesting storyline. Great story, well worth the wait.

🌻A Bit different, then the previous books!🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

I have loved this series from the start. Of course, the pairing of Christine Feehan and Jim Frangione’s narration could never be anything but brilliant. With that being said, this book was a bit different then it’s predecessors; less romance, more action. After reading many reviews, in the past, that found CF’s writing too sensual ( is that possible?😉), some listeners would approve of the difference. There was only one intimate scene, in this book.

The rest of the story consisted of a new villain and an addition to team four. There were also cameos from some favorite characters and some interesting insights into others. There are also an introduction to a new team of ghost walkers that will likely have their own stories, in the future.

Is this a credit worthy listen? Absolutely, I consumed this book in less than 24 hours and am keeping my eye out for the next book to be released, in this series.

bad narration

The Narrator of this book is the wrong choice.
I love this series and was very excited about this book. I will have to read it myself. Love your books Chrisrine Feehan. I gave a 1 star for story could not finish with current narration.

Good

I was so excited when this book came out. I love the GhostWalker series. This story was like a story within a story. The mane story is of Jonquille and Rubin. The second story within this story is about the people that have been attempted to be made into ghostWalkers. I think the thing I liked the most about this book is that there was a lot more story and a lot less description of sex.

Not one of her better books

Disappointed with this one, didn't like the end, wanted to know more about the old man in the mountain, also the last was a dud don't worth the price, I have read every book in this series and find that her latest books are just not as good as the first 9 books,

Always Perfect

I can never get enough of this series. Can’t wait for the next book. Interesting how the “swamp man” was written in 💜 it.

solid 3.5 stars

Read on it's own (although it may be confusing without some background) the story itself is interesting with a reasonable pace. Jim Franjione has good inflections and each character has distinct voices, so its easy to tell them apart and the narration quality is consistent.

⚠ The rest of this review is my own personal note and reminder for the next time I do a Series re-listen.... you don't need to waste your time reading any further, it's going to be harsh - 17 credits and more than 200 hours into a series, I want to remind myself how it really was.
-----
As part of the GhostWalker series it's 3.5 stars.
📖 Story comment: • Pace was OK, but there was nothing that really got me "pumped" to keep listening . • I didn't really connect to either of the main characters, and it took me a while to warm up to Rubin. • The whole "pairing to use lightning" was a little far fetched - even for the GhostWalkers. • There isn't enough interaction with the rest of the team, although some members of the other Teams did make an appearance in this one.
• Team 4 being dubbed "perfect", has made the characters abilities too strong so the stories are becoming unrealistic. I would prefer this series was wound up, not introducing new characters and a new villain, The last few books haven't been as good as the first half of the series. This is probably a good exit point for me.

🎧 Narration: I can enjoy a weak story if the narration is good - but from the beginning I set the audio speed at 1.2x and doubled it up through the sex scenes. Franjione's narration style is too passive and doesn't intone the right underlying level of strength and tension the GhostWalkers should have.

📌 Where does it sit on my personal scale? 4 • I miss the quality writing that was the beginning of this series - and it needs a different narrator.
• 1 not my thing • 2 didn't like the narration • 3 didn't keep my attention • 4 was good, but once was enough • 5 enjoyed it • 6 will listen again if i'm in the mood for the narrator • 7 goes on the "re-listen" list • 8 kept me up past bed-time • 9 recommended to family/friends • 10 own it in multiple formats • 11 keep a copy with me at all times

Good if you’re a Feehan fan

I’ve been following Feehan since her early Dark series books which I’ve enjoyed, but over time they’ve gotten very wordy. It’s only a problem when there’s nothing happening plot wise or action wise. Or when she repeats something three or four or five times etc. We’ve got some of that going on here, but not oppressively so, which leaves the reader able to enjoy another Ghost Walker story. I do enjoy her creative mind and the storylines she is able to come up with.
Frangione is his distinctive self and does a great job of narration.

Great story and new characters brought in

I was disappointed that there was hardly any sex between them, usually her books have them making love several times and very hot. However, the storyline was great, lots of interesting new characters. Always wondered about Gator & Wyatt’s other brothers. Looking forward to hear their stories as well as more from Team 3 that seemed to have been forgotten. Wonderful series.

Won’t listen to anymore of Christine Feehan audio

I’m struggling to understand why Christine Feehan would want such a monotonous narration of her books. The female is completely lost as a strong woman. the narrative is very so monotonous, the normally exciting parts of the book all flow into rather boring monologue.
I’ve been listening to audiobooks for over two years, this is the first disappointing audio of one of my favourite authors. I won’t listen to one again, such a shame.

Brilliant

The Queen of erotic paranormal romance strike again with GhostWalker book 17 Lightning Game. In this book GhostWalker Rubin Campo returns to his childhood cabin with his brother Diego only to find that someone has been living in their cabin. He waits quietly to catch the culprit and finds Jonquille who just happens to be another GhostWalker. They share an intense interest in lightning and Jonquille has sought him out to get his help. What follows is an intense journey of learning and understanding for them and just to top it off there is a team of soldiers trying to obtain Jonquille and the fight is on. There are many surprises along the way with this story and for once I have to say there was not enough of the scorching hot interactions between the two main characters but, nevertheless another triumph as a novel.

lightning

Wow this was certainly a great story. I just loved these two that have once more been paired by Whitney. I just loved the healing powers both characters had including the lightening...superb.
I look forward to the next in the series as more Ghost walkers are discovered.
5 stars around for another wonderful exciting and truely addictive series
