Suspenseful scifi mystery at its best!

Loved it. No matter the genre, Hystad keeps the twists and turns coming throughout. Highly recommend this one.

What a waste of time

This story never really went anywhere. Very boring story. Narration was poor. No character differences so hard to follow. Also very little vocal inflection. Made an already boring story, hard to listen to. Probably should have given up on it but couldn’t believe the story would just never lift off.

Surprisingly good!

I kept wondering if there were aliens or weren't right up till the end of the book. Nice way to keep the suspense going. I'm not even 100% sure right now what really happened, but if it could've been aliens then it definitely was.

Excellent narration by Melissa Thompson

A wonderful retelling of a strange event that occurred 20 years ago. The haunting memories of a young woman coincide with a trip to a childhood lake side cabin where stories of strange lights and missing people are more that just stories to those who've seen them.

Another jewel

Such a good story! Nathan can do no wrong imo.
I wish I had more free time to binge the rest or his work, but having audible versions are a convenient alternative to reading. Melissa Thompson did a great job.

Excellent book! Enjoyed it from start to finish.

Lights Over Cloud Lake is an amazingly good thriller centering on possible alien abductions. The character development and plot twists were thoroughly satisfying. I listened to it as an audiobook, and loved the narrator. Very easy to listen to.

A whodunit with an SF twist

I was drawn in by the characters right away, but it was the mystery that kept me hooked until the end. A really solid listen.

Clouds over cloud lake...

Honestly, I may not be the ideal person to review this, as the concepting and execution are irritating. The endless riffing on clothes, hair, and attitudes may be entertaining to some, but not me. The story arc meanders wanders and ultimately was fulfilling. It's not bad per se, just not compelling in many ways. I have listened to other offerings from this author in the past, and I honestly have to note that this is not one of the better ones.
Likely recommended by fans of this author, but it wasn't for me.

rather predictable

The story line becomes rather predictable. performance is OK but all voices are the same making it rather unclear at moments who is speaking and not giving the already weak characters any real personality. It also barely counts as Sci-Fi, just using the concept of alien abduction as a pretext for the story .
