Publisher's Summary

Two childhood friends are playing house - and maybe playing for keeps - in USA Today bestselling author Adriana Locke’s funny, sexy, and unpredictable marriage-of-convenience romance.

To save her Tennessee bed-and-breakfast, Sophie Bates needs a fast-cash miracle. Holden McKenzie, her childhood best friend, needs to prove to a prospective employer that he’s a committed man. Their fortunes on the line, Holden proposes...a solution.

He’ll take care of Sophie’s bills if she agrees to a temporary marriage of convenience. And why not? They’re comfortable together, they have fun, and they trust each other. It’s as simple as saying “I do.” But the off-the-cuff wedding has all of Honey Creek talking - and Sophie and Holden realizing that their perfect arrangement is working too well. If they’re not careful, this marriage could turn into a love story.

Hudson and Sophie

Marriage of convenience equals destiny!! Hudson and Sophie were best friends (at least in the summer) throughout childhood. When Hudson returns home and needs an insta wife he proposes to Sophie in return for helping her keep Honey House. I think both really knew deep down they were meant to be when they both went after the Pay Day in the car lol! But seriously, you can’t fake that friendship and bond these two have that is the ultimate love story! The supporting characters were just as fun especially Dottie and Birdie! Hudson and Sophie are the perfect couple!

Sweet friends to lovers romance

This is a friends to lovers romance done right. Fair notice- I’m a fan of Adriana Locke so I was excited to get this early copy from NetGalley. But this story follows childhood friends, Holden and Sophie, who both need the other for help and therefore decide to go through a “fake marriage”. But even before this, the banter, the laughs, the delightful relationship they have drew me in and I absolutely love the couple. I rooted for them, even knowing that rocky roads were ahead because Holden didn’t want to stay in this small town the story is set in. (The supporting cast making up this small town is great too). Plenty of laughs, swoons and heartwarming moments abound. I look forward to more books set in this charming small town!

I purchased the audiobook for my second read and it was well done, having been narrated by Lidia Dornet and Ryan West. It was a good narration that drew me back into the story and into Honey Creek.

Like You Love Me

Not a bad read (or listen in this case). The story was average, but cute. The performances were good, they did a fine job, but they also didn't make the story any better for me.

If you want a wholesome, safe romance, this is the one for you.

Such a sweet story!

I’m not big on marriage of convenience but I loved this! It was so sweet, funny, and had a great story line. Didn’t hurt that the couple were friends as kids, I loved it all!

I loved it!!

Such a sweet story.

Just imagine, your childhood friend grows up to be a hottie and propositions you with a marriage to save your livelihood and his career... Would you do it? Sophie Bates and Holden McKenzie were faced with this situation and boy was this book great. The narration was wonderful. There was no lag in the story. I found myself enjoying the book immensely. One of the better audiobooks that I've purchased recently.

Like You Love Me checked so many boxes for me

Like You Love Me checked so many boxes for me- sweet and sassy heroine, swoony hero, childhood friends to lovers, quirky small town with colorful characters, witty banter- it was all there! I loved seeing their marriage of convenience develop into more, but I found the tease of the slow burn to be so worthwhile. When Sophie and Holden gave in to their attraction- it was just perfection. I always love the beginning of a new Adriana Locke small town romance series- meeting all the characters and seeing all the possibilities. I am so here for the Honey Creek series! Narrators Ryan West and Lidia Dornet were new to me, but gave fantastic performances that added so much to the story.

Good pallet cleanser

3 star listen
Good pallet cleanser between more intense books.

I didn’t mind the main characters but this book is also more surface level that most I’ve read.

Cute read with an ok narration.
