Publisher's Summary

Are you looking for a complete guide that enables you to use Linux and manage shell Linux like a pro? Are you struggling to navigate among all the Linux distributions out there and finding it hard to define the best one for your needs? Do you want to evaluate your learning level step by step?

If your answer is "Yes", please pay attention.

Linux is without doubt the most powerful operating system in the world. Yes, you may think Windows and macOS are powerful operating systems owing to the fact that they control much of the PC market, but I have some stats that will change your perspective:

As of 2020:

  • One hundred percent of the world’s supercomputers run on Linux
  • Twenty-three of the top 25 websites in the world run on Linux
  • A total of 96.3 percent of the world’s top one million servers run on Linux
  • Ninety percent of the world’s cloud infrastructure operates on Linux

The audiobook discusses the ins and outs of Linux in a beginner-friendly style to make your learning process frustration-free, as the audiobook does not assume you know anything about Linux.

More precisely, this audiobook will teach you:

  • How Linux works
  • The architecture of Linux
  • Benefits of using Linux as an operating system
  • Linux distributions, including how to choose your distribution
  • How to install Linux on MacOS and on Windows
  • Master the Linux shell
  • The fundamental Linux commands
  • Some great Linux alternatives to some of the popular Windows applications
  • And much more

Even if you’ve never used Linux before but want to learn it to add it to your skill set and possibly start using it for networking, programming, or even just simple web browsing, you will find this audiobook helpful.

PS: To help you learn even faster, there is a quiz at the end of every chapter.

did not find this book helpful

As an audio book, I did not find this very helpful. it may be better as a real book. I returned it after listening to over and hour of it and just could not take anymore. I did not find this to be very helpful. again a hard copy might be better as then you can see the commands.

This is an excellent

This is an excellent introduction to Linux. It's brief enough to be read in an afternoon and yet has enough detail to actually get a newbie using the command line to manage files, edit text, inspect and stop processes.

I highly recommend it

I am a newb in Linux. Thankfully, Jason's explanations are clear but not "dumbed down". I recommend this book for anybody starting from scratch, as I am.

i liked

I have been using Ubuntu for at least 10 years at home. In those ten years I have never really go through a tutorial for the OS. I relied on forums to help me install and troubleshoot issues. But I decided to read Linux for Beginners and now I feel that I have a better understanding of Ubuntu and good foundatition on which to build my knowledge on.

An excellent audiobook..

This audiobook gave me a lot of data. This audiobook is grand to scrutinize and I think this audiobook is the best audiobook of this subject, and I genuinely esteem this audiobook. I despite everything need to continue with the segment in regards to Linux.
