Story
When single mother Darcy’s son falls from a rope bridge at a local playground, life stands still. She clutches his small, limp body, frozen, until a pair of strong hands push her aside, and she watches as George, a local doctor, saves her son’s life. George, with his twinkling hazel eyes, easy charm and lack of wedding band is almost too good to be true, but coffee becomes lunch, lunch becomes dinner, and soon they can’t go an evening without seeing each other.

Ok book, but not a thriller
This book started off really slow, but I stuck with it.It doesn't pick up until around chapter 35-ish. I won't return it because the narration was really good and I did finish the book but it was not my favorite.

Couldn’t stand this! It went on and on and on
Totally agree with the reviews that said how this dragged on with no substance. Literally it wasn’t until hour 5-6 that it sorta got interesting. Even then it would sputter then stop. Such a waste of time. Ending so disappointing after spending hours waiting for something to happen.

Very Well Done!!
Sometimes K.L. Slater writes excellent, gripping stories that I cannot stop reading or listening to. This is one such book! I gobble it up in one sitting over night.
Little Whispers is full of complex characters with a wonderful, gripping, comprehensive story line.
A couple moves into a new neighbourhood with their son after inheriting some money from the wife's mother. They are looking forward to having some more money as the husband has a new IT job. Their son is only eight and he's going to a whole new school, and mom decides to make some friends. Pretentious and down right rude at first, the women from the new school don't seem like they are very welcoming, but eventually mom gets caught up in the web of the gossipy parents.
The husband is spending more and more time at the office and the wife is spending more and more time with her new friends. However, of course.. not everything is what it seems.
This is definitely one of the best, if not THE best Slater book I've heard. I highly recommend it!

Difficult
I think this may have been a good book if there weren’t too significant plots twisted together that never really got into too much depth during the storyline. However it did and unravel at the end of the book. It’s also hard to read a book where by I hate the main character. Getting frustrated with some of the suspense fiction have a weak, naïve, ignorant, whiny women. Look forward to books where the main character is strong and smart.

I didn’t mind the meandering of this book. When I thought it was going somewhere. But now that I know the ending, it just seems long winded. And the main character is whiney.

A train wreck. A boring train wreck at that.
I should have headed the previous review that said you could listen to the 1st and last 30 minutes of this nine hour book and it would be a better experience than listening to the endless minutia Slater substitutes for drama. I've been a fan of KL Slater which is why I ignored the bad reviews but this book is appalling in its banality. Shame on the author and the editors.

Cracking Good Ending
A domestic thriller with the woman as the central character. The first half of the book revolves around school runs and mothers grouping at the school gates, their cliques, who lives in the poshest house etc. Towards the end of the book we discover what was really going on behind the social "one-upmanship". It's about who you can trust and who you should not. A cracking good ending I thought, well worth the wait.
I've come to like K. L. Slater as a writer. There's plenty going on, but not so complicated that it becomes difficult to follow.

Not good.
The story could have been edited to about half it’s length. The main character was portrayed as naive, and the ‘evil’ ones stereotypical; the dialogue clunky. Not a great listen.

some interesting parts, too long winded, below par
Really love a good KL Slater book as she does character interaction so well. I found the main character a little naive and not very interesting. I could not love or loathe any other character
in the book they evoked nothing.
I would recommend one of this author's other books as this was really disappointing. I want my credit back!

What.a.drag
Nothing happens till Chapter 17. Once you get past this chapter it drags on again - without anything exciting happening - until chapter 38. Then you need to force yourself to keep listening till chapter 54. Omg honestly, if it wasnt for Lucy the narrator - who is fab - I would have abandoned this book a long time ago. Boring boring boring. This is my second book from the author, so far I am not impressed. It just drags on and on and on, get on it with it already. But kudos to the narrator, love her.

Enjoyable twisty thriller!!
Loved this audio-book!
Great narration , entertaining characters and a satisfying story!!
It was an easy, enjoyable story and even though I thought I had it figured out at one point , the end was still deliciously surprising!!
Can definitely recommend.

Gripping tale of deceit
This story was slow to start, but gradually started to present more and more unanswered questions to the point couldn't put it down (stop listening) I usually only listen when driving finding it boring to just sit and listen. Not this time. A real thriller.

Hohum
This books wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t great. Overall it was pretty bland. None of the characters were very likeable or interesting. KL Slater’s books are usually a much higher standard than this. Disappointing.

Predictable but Easy to Listen
Good story line, has you guessing but seemed.to and abruptly. Narration was easy to listen to. Good holiday "read"

Kept me hanging until the end
I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. It has many twists & turns which held my attention. Slater has shown her immense talent in this ‘can’t-put-down’ story. Now to catch up on some sleep!

A little too slow burning
A series of unintelligible 'clues' throughout resulting in mass word vomit in the last 45 minutes to explain the plot.
Brilliant performance by Lucy Price-Lewis - she is the shining light of this 90% dull story.

Love!!! Absolutely amazing
I personally really enjoyed this book. I was hooked from start to finish! Half way through I was certain I had an idea of what had was happening but nope. No idea and it was much better than I expected! Really really great and 10/10 would recommend!

Disappointing read
Lead character was very whingy and annoying throughout this book. a very long boring slow start and the twist was short and sharp at the end. A disappointing read.
