Publisher's Summary

Is it an accidental pregnancy if it’s purposefully planned?

Autumn Kulis wants a baby. It’s that simple and that complicated because one thing stands in her way: She doesn’t have a man in her life. And at almost 40, she isn’t getting any younger. On a two-week trip to her brother’s lakeside cottage, a plan forms. Make a list of three men. Sleep with each of them. Allow nature to take its course.

Only, a certain someone gets in her way.

Logan Anders goes with the flow of life. Divorced, single dad, he works hard and occasionally plays harder. When his college roommate invites him to Lakeside Cottage for two weeks, he hadn’t remembered his best friend’s little sister being so hot. Nor was he a fan of her plan to find a baby daddy. He’s determined to make her list, then tear it to shreds leaving him the only man horizontal with her.

A crush revealed exposes the desire for her brother’s best friend and a simple proposition could be the second chance they both need to really live.

It’s The Big Chill of 2021, including a reunion of friends gone awry when someone wants to get pregnant and someone else wants to be the one to give her everything.

Welcome to Lakeside Cottage, a new adventure in over-40 romance and second chances at love by L.B. Dunbar.

Pass me tissues

First of all. The narrators are PERFECTION for this story. I already read the book, so the story was familiar but I was pulled in once again, reaching for my tissues.
Listening to it read by these narrators, magnified an already amazing story.
This is one I will re-listen to again in the future.

Logan and Autumn

I loved how this book focuses on the older characters at 40. This sets a more established age with less young adult stupidity, or does it really? Lol Lakeside Cottage is a great family retreat and nice place to reunite with your friends and loved ones. There is so much more to this story than the birthday celebrations for the buddies. We have raising kids, wanting babies, single parenthood, forever love, new love, sex, emotion and camaraderie. I highly recommend this book.
I loved the great narration!

Perfect narrators!!

New author for me. I've really started to enjoy these "adult" romances. This one was great and had lots of sexy times (I approve) - something that you don't necessarily see when reading stories with ~40-year-old characters. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Loved it!

OMG!! I am a mess! This book was AMAZING!
Our couple struggled to get it together they were going to be sex only but NOPE they both caught feelings. Actually the feelings were already there, they just weren't ready for them.
Honestly that wasn't the only love story in this book and that was something I LOVED. We had sibling love, parental love, and Oh My! the love of four men who are life long friends. So many touching heartfelt moments showcasing all the levels of love.
I finished it a sobbing mess! My heart was breaking for some characters yet filled with joy for others.
I can't wait for the next one in the series!

Really enjoyed this one!

This was such a well-written story. The entire vibe between all the characters and the dialogue between them really pulls you in and makes you feel the closeness of this group of friends. Lots of feels in this one. Not just surrounding the romance and relationship between Logan and Autumn, but in the events that occur with the other characters, as well. SPOILER follows (stop reading here if you want to avoid a spoiler.) Having lost my husband at a very young age to cancer (27), that part of the storyline was tough, but very well done in my opinion. The reactions and feelings were believable from all angles, and pretty realistic based on my experience. There is a lot to love about this book. The story, the writing, the heat level, and the narration are all excellent.

Great Story!💜

I enjoyed the reality of this story. It was well written with the struggles of getting older and having to make life changing decisions. Some were happy and others were sad but all were for a better life. It was funny, charming & heartbreaking but every aspect of this story was full of heartfelt emotions and the importance of lifetime friendships.
The narration was absolutely fantastic. Both narrators performed brilliantly. That said sometimes in duel narration, one narrator reads faster than the other so the flow of the story changed a bit. This did not change how much I loved this book and can’t wait for more. This is book 1 and can be read as a standalone.
I highly recommend this book.

Loved it

OK as I'm an older woman and most times you don't find stories that are older they're always have to deal with college age or maybe you know in there 20. It's nice to finally listen to a story that actually has to do with someone who's older because let's face it these days there's lots of people who are older who are single, This story absolutely deals with life, The female character is upset about her last boyfriend did not working out and because she's older you know it's more upsetting, But her brother's friend and comes to visit and he was someone chatta crush lot and the story goes from there. It was definitely a fun lesson the narrators did an excellent job of keeping me in the story and not even realizing I was listening I was just so enthralled with the story. And that was definitely the narrators doing. This is worth a lesson

So bad. Just so bad.

Seems to have been written by a bored person who decided to become a romance author on a whim and stretched a worthless, contrived novella into an 11-hour audiobook. The way she did it is by repeating everything over and over. The same discussions. The same inner worries. The CONSTANT, REPETITIVE inner dialogue is so obnoxious. Immature, emotionally stunted 40-year-olds give mixes signals and contradictory words to one another over and over. Really stupid. I wanted to quit this book a quarter of the way in and hate myself for sticking it out because it’s hours of my life I will never get back. This was a new author for me, will not go near this author ever again. Not even the narrators, who I like, could save this for me. At one point it sounded like Aaron Sherlock was speedily rushing through his chapters and I can’t blame him for wanting it to be over.

Life doesn’t end at 40

Are usually don’t write reviews, but this was an amazing book. Yes, it has your love story which is great but it also evolves other lives around these two people which makes it much more interesting. The connections the daily struggles That life offers but at the end of the day we’re also grateful for!

Narration let book down

I love books by this author. This story is a roller coaster of emotions and well written. It’s a shame the narration was lacking. Aaron is amazing however I couldn’t listen to Kelsey’s voice. Her narration is quite forced not natural. I’ll stick to the kindle version.
