Publisher's Summary

The debut crime thriller series of the year!

An intruder shot dead to be seen rising from the grave, a young reporter's body found with a face contorted by fear and a long-forgotten mansion lying in the midst of an ancient Norfolk marsh.

The ancestral owner of Long Gore Hall arrives from overseas with an ambitious plan to renovate his crumbling family home. But when he shoots an intruder only for the body to vanish into thin air, DI Tanner is left grappling with a story of a ghostly apparition, one that will instantly kill anyone who dares stare into its hollow, unforgiving eyes.

Set within the mysterious beauty of the Norfolk Broads, this fast-paced British detective series is a dark cosy murder mystery with a slice of humour and a touch of romance which will have you guessing until the very end, when the last shocking twist is finally revealed.

Long Gore Hall is a totally addictive gripping crime thriller, the eighth in a chilling series of serial killer books, ones which will rapidly convert followers of L J Ross, Faith Martin, Joy Ellis, Damien Boyd and J M Dalgliesh into David Blake devotees.

Well written!

The characters were delightful and quirky. I loved the cheeky Brit's sense of humor. Well done!

Can't wait for the next one..

Very good mystery, which I never figured out, I had to be told at the end. I did feel sorry for Lawrence Hambleton.

A smidge of romance and the F-bomb was used 18 times.

As for the narration: Jonathan Keeble is an awesome narrator. I've listened to all 18 of his narration of the DCI Ryan Mysteries, by LJ Ross, and have loved every one of them, as well as all 8 of these DI Tanner books.
