Her new home is tucked away at the edge of a cemetery, surrounded on all sides by gravestones: Some recent, some hundreds of years old, all suffering from neglect. And in the darkness, she can hear the unquiet dead whispering. The cemetery is alive with faint, spectral shapes, led by a woman who died before her time...and Keira, the only person who can see her, has become her new target.

Publisher's Summary
Readers' Favorite Award Finalist in paranormal fiction.
If the dead spoke to you, would you listen? Or would you close your senses, tune out the whispers, pretend you couldn’t hear. Maybe run. To where? Anywhere. Find me...
Renowned sculptor Allison Weathers doesn’t believe in ghosts. But when a tragic twist of fate leads her to the small mountain town of Dawson Mills, Tennessee, she soon learns that the dead don't always stay silent. Shadows begin to shift in the rambling, old Victorian farmhouse she’s purchased. Voices come from nowhere. She can feel the eyes on her.
Paul Bradford, a contractor who is bidding the renovation work on the house, believes it’s more than just Allison’s imagination conjuring up the paranormal activity. Toni Harper, a reporter for the local paper, concurs. She’s heard snippets of hand-over-the-mouth gossip from some of the town’s deputies who responded to calls in the middle of the night. Ghosts. Or so the former owner claimed in the few months before his death.
The secrets they unearth rock Allison right down to the core. Thrust into a haunted world where the paranormal and evil collide, she has one hope of survival: unravel the sinister history buried for decades within the old farmhouse and find the link to a muddled piece of her past.
Lost Girl by Anne Francis Scott is a paranormal mystery/ghost story with chilling scenes at the fringe of horror.

An eerily spooky ghost story.................
Lost Girl is a difficult story to classify as it blends the perfect amount of spooky paranormal with intriguing mystery. I think even those listeners who dislike the paranormal genre could enjoy this story as the mystery is more the focus than the slight paranormal elements of ghosts and psychic abilities. That said, for those of us who enjoy some woo-woo with our mystery, Lost Girl is an excellent choice. The author's use of foreshadowing kept me listening raptly through many of the chapters, and I definitely missed bedtime.
I liked the main characters right from the beginning, especially Allison, Paul and Toni. Allison is a widow whose mother disappeared under mysterious circumstances that haunt Allison to this day. She buys an old house that was the place of a suicide, and she quickly realizes that it not only seems haunted, but it is tied to her past in highly suspicious ways. Paul is the contractor she hires to update the house, and he feels an instant attachment to Allison. Toni is a reporter and a believer in the supernatural, so she is fully on board to help Allison discover who or what is haunting her house. I loved watching Allison open herself to making friends with Paul and Toni, and it proves fortuitous when her life is endangered, and they must help find her before it is too late. All in all, this was a very exciting and interesting story, and I am looking forward to listening to the next book in the series when it is released on audio.
Lisa L Wiley's narration is excellent. She differentiates well between the characters, and she adds the perfect level of spooky to her delivery to increase the doom foreshadowed by the author. Her performance is flawless, and I would definitely listen to another of her audiobooks in the future.
I received a copy of this audiobook at my request in exchange for this honest review.

The Story Was A Loss
Could have been ok, I guess.
The story & narrator are more steered towards a younger crowd.
I gave up listening, because it seems very childish & extremely simple. The writing is very simpleminded. Lack of serious context & development!
The narrator made me feel as I should be sitting on a rug in a classroom of 6 or 8 yr old kids.
No, I don't recommend the book or the narrator.

Twisty Paranormal Ghost Mystery
I went into this book expecting a paranormal mystery that was light on the paranormal and mystery but heavy on the romance (this is through no fault of the book or synopsis, I am just a sucker for a good paranormal romance so I was leaning towards that). Instead I found Lost Girl to be a very twisty mystery with so many aspects to the story I could never have seen coming as well as a suspect pool that kept growing as the book went on. There was just a smidge of romance also, but it was in no way the focus of the story. There were some dark moments dealing with murder and multiple kinds of assault (mentioned, but never detailed), and overall this had a pretty dark undertone to the story.
One of the main mysteries that this book dealt with resolved, but there are so many more that I need to get answered so there is no doubt in my mind that I will continue on in what I discovered is a series.
The story is told in multiple points of view, with at least four characters that I would call main characters, even though the synopsis only focuses on two, and there were a few different side characters that also narrated the book. I listened to the audio and the narrator did a good job of giving each of the character's their own voice. I would easily listen to the next book on audio and recommend this format for anyone who loves listening to a creepy, suspenseful mystery.

Oddly stilted and overpronounced narration.
The storyline was fine but the narration was so distracting that I had a hard time getting into it. Seemed a bit odd that pertinent clues & background facts were inserted after the fact once that part of the mystery had already been solved. Could have used better editing.

Suspenseful!
This was an enjoyable listen. The paranormal elements of the story are based on psychics, mediums and ghosts, making it believable and spooky.
Anne Francis Scott's writing is excellent, well-paced, clear, and precise. The story is well-plotted, captivating the readers/listeners. The mystery is gripping, involving paranormal and police investigation, eventually joining and expanding further. The storyline is suspenseful, loaded with twists and unexpected turns. As for the characters, they are well- developed and engaging, particularly the female leads, I found them to be intriguing and relatable.
The narration by Lisa L. Wiley is excellent, I'm satisfied with her performance. My only complaint is the male characters, I wished she used a deeper voice.
Overall, the Lost Girl is an enjoyable paranormal mystery, and I highly recommend it. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

eerie, yet so gripping
I was not sure how I would feel about this book. But once I started it, I could not stop. It has a little bit of everything, but it is set in another time. Allison has to figure out what happened and help the ghost find rest. IN doing so, she uncovers more than she wanted to. This story is so gripping. I loved the suspense of it. I could not stop reading until I found myself at the end. I am really looking forward to the next book in this series.
Lisa Wiley did a great narration of this book. She brought out all the eeriness and suspense of the story. Lisa brought Allison to life. She has an easy to listen to voice. I look forward to hearing more narration from Lisa.

Great Start
Allison bought a run-down house out in the country of Tennessee. She starts hearing voice but that can't be, Allison doesn't believe in ghosts. I love ghost stories and it helps if you like the characters. I like Allison, I think she has some magical powers and just doesn't know it. This is my first book by Anne Francis Scott and it won't be the last, i will definitely finish this series. If you like ghost stories check out this book.

Captivating!
This was my first Anne Francis Scott's book, and definitely won't be my last. I just found a new favorite author! This is the first book in The Lost Trilogy Series. This is a great Paranormal Ghost Mystery. The characters are well developed, and intriguing. I loved to follow Allison, Paul, and Toni in their adventure, and I loved to have the multiple points of view. The story is original, filled with ghosts, a haunted house, and a little romance. The storyline is fast-paced, suspenseful, scary, heartbreaking, and enthralling. The mystery unfolds at a gripping pace. Impossible to put it down. Lisa L. Wiley did a fantastic job with the narration. She has a beautiful voice, and a great range of voices. Looking forward to listen to Lost Souls, Toni's story, the next book in the Series. Allison realizes she has the ability to see and speak to the dead. But everyone convinces her she is crazy, and going as far as having her locked up. Searching for a fresh start and looking for any information she can find on her mother that went missing when she was a child. Allison puts herself in danger. Paul the local contractor has heard all the rumors surrounding the house she bought and knows this may be a dangerous place for a single lady. The story is fun, sad and full of mystery/adventure. I enjoyed the narration and think she did a great job with the book.

Paranormal Mystery
I am not into books that have ghost in them but this one surprised me. I was hooked from the beginning and I couldn't put it down unitl I got to the end.
I liked this one because it had a mixture of the two genre I loved and the author, I thought wrote it really well.
Would recommend.

Creepy
Oh so delightfully creepy and scary. Note to self don’t listen at work where your all alone, you may be left jumping at shadows. This was fantastic I can’t wait to listen to more.
