Publisher's Summary

Aislinn Hennessy pens tales of courage, loyalty, and true love, but her heroes of old are pure fantasy - figments of her imagination. She long ago gave up thinking a knight in shining armor would sweep her off her feet, but then, she never expected to run him off the road, either.

Sir Dougray Fitzpatrick has buried one wife and vows to never love again, but destiny has other plans for this 16th-century Irish lord.

During a battle, a mist separates Dougray from his men and casts him into the future. Dougray must return to Dunhaven and to his century, but Aislinn follows him into the mist, leaving him no choice but to take her home with him.

Conspiracies, feuds, and unexpected violence are commonplace threats, but along the way, Aislinn and Dougray discover a surprise neither one expects: a chance for love even when they're lost in the mist of time.

Author's note: Enjoy Dougray and Aislinn's story again or if you're listening to Lost in the Mist of Time for the first time, enjoy the magic!

Time a Travel to Ireland

Wonderful story! Great characters vivid details with time travel to and from the future. Doug art has already lost a wife so he has no intention of falling in love. Ashlinn travels back to his time. The result is an enduring story of finding love despite the obstacles. Andrew McDermott was definitely the right choice for the narration. I’m really hoping for another book as I’m not done with these characters yet.

Wow!

This is not my usual genre as I don’t do much love and romance. It’s quite long at 20+ hours- I listen at bedtime and have to go back to the point I last remember before falling asleep sometimes, this narrator is excellent!

I loved the setting, the characters, and the story but especially the performance! I’m glad I gave this a go.

NEED MORE!!!

This is one of those amazing stories that draws you in at the beginning and has not let go by the end. Just WOW!

This book is for many different types of people. it is definitely a romance novel but not a smut book. Lots of historical fiction and Irish history. Many battles for the warrior class.
Really just a very well written and very well narrated story.

As others have noted, I hope this story continues in some way. The concept is well set up for a series even if the main character changes.

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

👏🏻More! More! More!👏🏻

Lost in the Mist of Time by Karen Michelle Nutt is a wonderful time travel romance story. Paired with the velvet voice of narrator, Andrew McDermott, and this is a BIG WIN all the way around!

The characters are likable, which will endear them to your heart. The conflict between the hero and the heroine throughout most of the story is a little much at times. Finally, they get it together and declare their love for each other by the last quarter of the story.

I hope the author is planning a second book to follow Conner in a time travel adventure of his own. 🤞🏻

love overcomes greed

I thought it was so ironic and funny that in the beginning Dougray believed in time travel and Aislinn didn't and needed proof!!! I liked that both main characters were strong and would cut their nose off to spite their fsces. Many try to sabatoge the couple, but the fates win out and finally the attraction can't be denied and the union is consummated. Still others have their own agendas and work to derail the couple. So much betrayal close at hand. smh!! This couple endues a lot emotionally and physically but get a hea. I enjoyed the conclusion. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.

Time Travel Romance + Ireland = Perfect!

I really enjoyed this time travel romance set in Ireland. The Narrators voice was absolutely perfect and the story was a good twenty hours so I felt like I got plenty for my credit. The clash of the personalities was really well written and I hope to listen to more by this author and narrator. The villain of the story didn't detract from the difficulties between Ashlinn and Dougray. I'll be honest there were points in the story I cried, 10/10

Characters Become Ridiculus

Short Review: the story is too long and frustrating. The main characters start well but become frustratingly less intelligent, less insightful and less thoughtful. After 7hrs., I gave it a chance, I skipped through 45 chapters.
Minor Spoilers:
There are a couple reviews pointing out our heroines unwillingness to blend with the time she has been dropped into, I disagree with their premise. Our hero did not adjust or blend to this time, the heroines family was accommodating and understanding, assisting him. This time is extremely different from several hundred years ago. The world has become a much smaller place and most of us are more accepting of people who are different. Not so for our heroine, she is dropped into a time known for its punishment of all things unaligned with their ideas of normal. Furthermore she is given no guidance, sympathy or assistance to adjust. Our hero after showing himself to be an intelligent, thoughtful man in present time, becomes a thoughtless, brainless, frustrating dolt in his time. This is where I began to have a problem with the story. Our heroine is a successful author, she has shown herself to be intelligent and insightful in previous chapters. However when she and the hero are transported back to his time they both become unintelligent and thoughtless, lacking common sense. This story became so frustrating I stopped listening after 7hrs. , with 45 chapters to go, and began skipping through. I have listened to books that needed to be 20+ hrs. long. This one did not but it would have been frustrating as a shorter book too.
I would have liked the narrator if he would have narrated the book the way he stated the chapter numbers.

The thing with time travel stories

So, there’s a reason I haven’t liked many time travel romances I’ve read, Diana Gabaldon being the exception, is that these women go back in time, knowing how women were treated and what was expected of them in history and still act completely silly and defiant. There are ways to show the woman’s strength without making her stand out ridiculously and putting her in utter danger.
In this particular story, the heroine had time to understand her situation before she was in any real danger. Even the hero knew her plight and was super understanding, yet she paraded around like a man, making demands that were not acceptable for the time and did everything in her power to completely stress out everyone she came in contact with.

With all that said, the story overall came together, but it took a lot of trauma for the heroine to get her shit together and stop acting like a selfish child. When the hero was stuck in our time, he tried to fit in. But she could not. Ugh.

Good story, annoying heroine and the narrator ended everything in a question which is slightly annoying. But overall, it was a good story.

Dissappointed.

The story was spoiled for me' the reader rendering left me irratated , his voice for the old lady sounded like Yoda. Because of the reader sounding as if he was just reading and not performing, it was difficult to connect with the characters.

enjoyed the story

Enjoyed the story but AJ is soooooo annoying. All she did was fight with Dougrae.. She picks up fights on everything he says or does. She is soooooo aggravating I didn't know if I was going to finish it as I thought i had another 10 hours of her irritating and annoying character. She wasn't pleasant at all. But I persevered and after another hour of listening she started to get a bit better and the plot kept me going. In fact the next 7 hours were brilliant
The narrator was good I liked his Irish accent.

Can't believe believe this could a film.!!!

I love the having really Irish reader who convince you are part of the journey . Yes I think writer was dead inspire by" Golden Hollywood" flims storys but yet get way in making it her own, think 1920s -1960s such Brigadoon (1954). Been worn that you to hear right to the very end. But yes this turn in film even though most based mixture of "Golden Hollywood" storys. Now got me listen to more Karen books as well reader Andrew.

Engaging time travel fantasy in Ireland

I thoroughly enjoyed this time travel fantasy which includes mystery, history, traditions, customs, action, intrigue and betrayal as well as romance. It has a sound storyline with highly descriptive narrative and the characters are well developed. Both Aislinn and Dougray have endearing qualities but likewise annoying ones. They are both extremely stubborn and, whilst they have the ability to communicate well with others, they struggle to do so effectively with each other so it takes them a long time to realise that the passionate love which they have for each other is actually reciprocated. Andrew McDermott’s narration of the Audible book is excellent and really brings Karen Michelle Nutt’s book to life.

Enjoyable

This book snagged interest from the start. Not only that it held my interest till the end. Longer books tend to drag for me but this book did not have that problem. I am already downloading another book from this author in hopes of liking it just as much.
