Second Chances and Forgiveness

This is book 5 in the Caldwell Brothers series and can be listened to as a standalone.
I loved this story of Leo and Shayne.
Their journey through forgiveness, finding love and getting a second chance was very emotional and engaging.
Logan Anare did a commendable audio delivery which brought the story to life.

love, forgiveness, and a second chance

Love Me Again is book 5 in the Caldwell Brothers series. I love this amazing story about second chances. How wonderful it would be to have a family like the Caldwells, they love and support each other and there's always someone to talk to. This story is about Leo and Shayne. Shayne and Leo were friends but Shayne did some really hurtful things to Leo in high school. It's been 7 years and Shayne is back in town and wanting to reconnect with Leo and apologize. The journey isn't easy but I love how they both decide to move forward from the past to see if they can be happy. I love how Shayne's bother Kane is there for him no matter what, especially when dealing with their parents. I'm so glad Leo and Shayne got their happy ending. Definitely recommend this book and series.
Narrator Logan Anare does an amazing job in bringing these characters to life. I would definitely listen to him again.

Loved it

Oh my this book! I loved this book in print and OMG in audio Logan brought this book this town these charters to life for me. Logan had this tone to his voice in the book I don't know how to describe it it was like a glass of fine scotch going down your throat. I would give this book 20 more stars if I could.

Wonderful story

I’ve been waiting for this one and it was worth the wait. Really enjoyed the story and narration

Second chance at love

Leo and Shayne were best friends and more in high school until Shayne screwed it up. The aftermath scarred Leo emotionally for many years but he has worked hard to make changes and learn to love himself. When their brothers meet and fall in love they have no choice but to find a way to be around each other. Of course old feelings come flooding back for both. Leo has to find a way to forgive Shayne and learn to trust and Shayne has to learn to forgive himself and earn that trust. Unfortunately Shayne's parents make an appearance in this story and I have to say I hate them more than the last book. Some people just don't deserve to be parents. Overall a great story.

Enjoyable, but not my favorite of the series

I enjoyed this second-chance romance, but I wish there had been more depth to Shayne and Leo's love. In a story with so much emotion, from Shayne's awful parents to Leo's issues with his weight, I was hoping to see more push and pull at the start of their reconnection. Instead, I'm not completely sure why Leo gave Shayne another chance... it seems like maybe he just got worn down by Shayne's persistence? Whatever the case, I felt like something was missing at the start, and despite all of Shayne's claims that he changed, they never really had the difficult conversations needed to move past what happened. Speaking of missing conversations, I'm a little disappointed that I never got any closure on Leo's eating issues. Sure, his volunteer work with Riley and the other kids implies that he's started to move on, but I wish I knew for sure what was going on in his head. In contrast to Leo's storyline, Shayne went through such a significant journey in this book. I experienced every up and down of his interactions with his parents, and despite knowing how awful they were, I still wasn't expecting them to be quite so cruel all the way to the end.

I liked this narrator's style, but I admit that I was initially thrown off because the previous book is narrated by someone else. It normally wouldn't bother me at all, but Kane and Adrian made several appearances in this story, and it was weird to hear a totally different interpretation of their voices.

Great 2nd Chance

So this one hit all my marks. 2nd chance, years lost, freinds to lovers to enemies to friends back to lovers and of course the big crazy Caldwell clan. They can all stand alone but iI do reccomend reading/listening to book 4 before this one they kind of go hand in hand. Narration is done well.

Second chance to get it right.

I fell in love with this story when I read the ebook version, and I couldn’t wait for it to come to Audible, like the others.

Leo’s story is heartbreaking. I feel his pain. It hurts my heart. Emotional scars left over, from an eating disorder, never fully heal. Throughout the book we see his inner struggles with it. Knowing the right things to do, and having all the tools in your toolbox doesn’t mean you stop thinking about it.

Shayne is Kayne’s brother. We first met him in book four. Shayne and Leo, who is a Caldwell brother, have a shared history; one that didn’t end well. Shayne destroyed Leo, when they were teenagers. As an adult, Shayne returns and runs into Leo. Shayne wants a second chance, but Leo isn’t having it. It isn’t going to be easy. He has deal with the aftermath of his behavior first. Shayne’s parents are a piece of work, too. We first met them in Kayne’s book. Man, I dislike them.

It was just as easy to become invested in the audiobook as it was the ebook. The story tugs at your heart, and doesn’t let go. As with the other books, we get to spend time with previous characters. This is a great family.

I’ve never heard anything narrated by Logan Anare before. He did a fantastic job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed the overall quality to his voice. He did a great job differentiating between characters. I’d definitely listen to his narration again.

Leo Caldwell's Second-Chance Romance

'Love Me Again' is the 5th book in Aiden Bates and Ali Lyda's 'Caldwell Brothers' romance series. This installment focuses on Leo, second-to-youngest Caldwell brother. Leo and Shayne developed a relationship in high school that ended in betrayal and false assumptions. Seven years later Shayne is back in town looking for forgiveness and Leo is not sure he's ready to give that to Shayne. Even with their enduring love, can they work through past hurts to seize their happily ever after?

As with the other book I listened to in this series ('Sweet On You'), Leo's brothers and parents make cameo appearances, but the book is able to stand alone. In addition to the second-chance storyline, there's discussion of Leo's past high school body image issues of which Shayne was partially responsible, causing Leo to still hold resentment toward Shayne. Both men still love each other despite these actions of the past. Leo has overcome most of his image issues but can he forgive? Does Shayne deserve it?

I enjoyed this seeking-forgiveness story. It takes a while for these two guys to get back to a place of happiness. There's no insta-forgiveness. The book is fairly light in the angst department, but includes a few obstacles to navigate along the way. It's a wonderful, believable and well-written story of overcoming your past, the power of forgiveness and a second chances at love.

I haven't listened to a narration by Logan Anare before hearing 'Love Me Again'. He does a great job conveying the emotions depicted by Lyda and Bates' words. I'd certainly listen to more from this narrator.

Enjoyed It

OkLeo is a Caldwell who needs lots of cuddles. So this is a second chance romance, with a soured past. This book deals with bullies, self image, mental health, and forgiveness, but as always it ends sweetly.
This is my first time listening to this narrator, and he did a pretty decent job, I would like to hear more from him.
