Pissed me off half way through the book.

The protagonist couple does something so stupid, I couldn’t finish the book.

He won’t sleep with her because his beast will come out unless he “levels down” with sex or violence so he leaves to go to the bar with his love waiting in his room. When he gets back he confirms he slept with another. No woman in their right mind would sleep with someone after that, let alone their first time, and then claim they felt they were in the bad because they took advantage of the man who had just slept with someone else hours prior. I call bs.

U either like it or you don't!

The Black Dagger Brotherhood series is either likable or not. Simple as that. Either deal with all the slang talking or not. Simple.

Now, this one is about Rhage....!!! Ah!!! Rhage... I simple love the fact that his name is his power persay... When he rage he rage...he goes all dragon and that is awesomeness!!! The story was a little hard to get into in the beginning, not because of the slang talking...but the story itself is hard to follow if you have not invested sometime in reading/listening to book 1. Too many characters are introduced in book 1 and they pop up alot in book 2. I would not recommend reading the series not in order.

Each book is about one of the brothers. They are a group of vampires and humans (kinda) who fight soulless humans. Weired, yes I know... but actually the story is pretty good. The passion between Rhage and his woman is pretty good too...

I really don't like male narrators, however, for this series, Jim works. Mostly all of the main characters are male, so a male narrator makes sense. Jim did a good job with all the slang. Must be hard to read...so...good job...

This is a credit. Unless you plan to invest some series time into all the books, I would wait for a free credit, get book one and start from there. Not a buy unless you series want to invest time. Each book is written to leave you wanting more in the end. BDB is either a love or hate series.

Infuriating

Would you try another book from J.R. Ward and/or Jim Frangione?

No.

What was most disappointing about J.R. Ward’s story?

How do I count the ways? Several of my friends rave about this series and I usually like the stuff that they do but I couldn't even finish this book. I made it through the first one and found it ok. Not great, not terrible. You have to be able to get past the horrible slang godawful silly names and the awful narrator but if you can the story is decent and engaging enough to hold your attention. I tried this one to see if it is a series that grows on you but I made it about halfway and something in the story ruined it for me to the point that I couldn't finish. I am going to spoil something here because I wish to God someone had warned me before I got this book but I'm going to leave a big gap here in case you'd like to turn back now and remail unspoiled.

The male protagonist has sex with someone else AFTER he's become emotionally involved with the female protagonist. That's a deal breaker for me. They can use the "curse" excuse until they're blue in the face but I call bullshit. I listened for a while longer to see if he didn't actually go through with it but it appears he did and it infuriated me to the extent that it completely took me out of the story. And it was only made worse by the fact that he came home from nailing somebody else only to IMMEDIATELY have sex for the first time with Mary while telling her how much he loves her. I wanted to scream. And that she would have sex with him knowing he JUST screwed somebody else. They just brushed the fact that his dick had just been inside a other woman under the rug. Maybe this sort of thing doesn't bug other people the way it does me and if that's the case then this may be worth a listen. If, like me, you prefer a protagonist that is faithful (even if they try to use the "he didn't rrally want tk" excuse) then you're probably gonna hate this book. A lot.

I seem to be the only one of all my friends who do not love these books more than life itself. I am not sure why, but I am just not falling for any of these guys. I am giving up.

JR Ward Writer of Erotic Horror Fantasy

I see that people either love this series or they hate it. I'm thinking that they are only reading one book at a time, and not in order. If you Don't like Erotic Horror Fantasy. DON'T READ JR Ward books. I have read the first two of the "Fallen Angel" series and I'm hooked. That was the reason I started BDB. I am enjoying the BDB, but find the Fallen Angel series more to my liking so far. I'm up to book 4 in BDB and each one gives a different perspective of each member of the "Brotherhood". Erotic Horror Fantasy is not for everyone, and that is why I think it is important that you know what you are purchasing. I am enjoying the series so far and will continue. I am very much looking forward to the next "Fallen Angel"

This series is...just..wow...grab your tissues!

Get ready for a tearjerker, this story shattered me into a million emotional pieces! Book 1 was off the charts fantastic, and this one was as well but the storyline was heavy in my opinion. My heart was breaking and then rejoicing for Rhage and Mary at many points throughout this story--it was intense to say the least. This is one of those stories that makes you stop and smell the roses for a bit and take stock of your life.

J.R. Ward has truly crafted a great series. I'd already purchased books 3 and 4 before the "audible hopes you've enjoyed this program" resonated in my ears. The characters are so interesting, you will easily get drawn into this world of vampire warriors and love every minute of it. I highly recommend!!

I love this book

Where does Lover Eternal, The Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 2 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is the best thus far for me. I love the first book but I do not really care for the book #5. I love this because it shows the vunerable side of Rhage and how he tries his best to shield Mary. It shows her strengths as well as her ability to be docile to her man's need. I love the romantic scenes when he tries to hold back only to give in to his need desire and want.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Rhage is my favorite character because he is strong, bold, funny, romantic and loveable. But all in all he's a warrior willing to protect what's his.

Have you listened to any of Jim Frangione’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I really am growing to love Jim Frangione. At first I did not like him but now I am getting to love his style and his cadence/voice.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Rhage wanted Mary and pushed himself away b/c he didnt want to hurt her. And denied himself pleasure!!

Any additional comments?

I love this book I am hoping the series doesnt let me down.

Messed up

The first book was entertaining but this book shows that J. R. has no understanding of what real love is. If Rhage had really loved Mary, he would not have been able to have sex with another woman. People can care about each other but if they really loved each other the thought of having sex with someone else would make them sick. This book started out interesting but nauseated me the moment he chose to go out and have sex with another woman.

I love this book!

This is one of my favorite books in the series! I have been waiting for it to be released in Audio format and was not disapointed! Rhage is the type of guy that most women would love to be with. This story has action and romance. If you enjoy fiction with action and steamy romance this book is for you! JR Ward doesn't disapoint!
