I, Charlotte Valentine, am mostly of sound mind. Typically, I make really good choices. I went to college, never did drugs...I even brush and floss every day. That’s not to say I don’t make poor decisions - believe me, I do. They always seem to involve men - everything from gluing my eye shut to falling in love with my boss. Did I mention he was famous? Oh, Drake Foster, you beautiful creature. My sister told me not to accept the position as his personal assistant. Apparently, she thinks it’s emotionally unhealthy for me to work for the object of my desire. What does she know?

Sweet, heartwarming story
A wonderful, uplifting read about moving forward, letting go of the past and being loved so completely it takes your breath away. Tori & Drew had a magnetic pull to each other. This is a beautifully written magical little gem of a story, which is sweet, heartfelt, heartbreaking, emotional, and with witty banter which all leads to an addictive and all-consuming tale. Brianna Vega does an amazing job portraying the characters, bringing them to life and humanizing them with their emotions, attitude and personality.

Painful pasts and hearts that mend
I really enjoyed Tory and Drew's story. While they both lost spouses, they each felt very differently about their experiences. One is ready for a new beginning, while the other wonders when the time is right to move on.
Yet in every goodbye, there is a hello, and that's what happens for Tory and Drew. They each have wounds to overcome, but they find peace and comfort with each other, and hope for a future.
I really enjoyed the characters in this story. Even the secondary characters provided depth to the narrative, so the focus wasn't purely on the two main characters.
The narrator did a wonderful job keeping dialogue straight and unconfusing by bringing each character to life.
Well done!

Good story, enjoyable narration
I enjoyed the journey this book takes, the healing and growth of both main characters. They each have their own challenges to overcome and they do so gradually in a believable way. There is no sudden switch of character or enlightenment.
The narrator did a wonderful job reading this story and giving life to the words. She made it easy to follow along with dialogue between characters.

Beautiful story of redemption and second chances
Love's Broken Road was a beautiful story of redemption and a second chance at love. Ms. Victoria (Tori) Newel and Drew Dalton are both widow and widower respectively, though their backgrounds couldn't have been more different (she comes from an abusive relationship, he was the "married high school sweetheart" kind). I loved how supportive and encouraging Drew was with her, as well as how resilient and strong Tori was in building a new life for her and her son. There's certainly drama (they're both HS teachers, so it's both from their students as much as their lives), but there's also a beautiful community, new friends, and learning how to deal with some unresolved issues from their pasts in a graceful and mature way.
The narrator was really good with the voices and bringing the characters to life. She did great with all the voices (from kids to senior ones, as well as both male and female). I loved how one could know who was speaking, and how neatly she nailed the nuances: from worry and fear to happiness, excitement, and everything in between.
Overall, a clean/sweet contemporary romance that deals with heavy topics (abuse, bullying, loss of a loved one) in a respectful and graceful way. Perfect for fans of the author, the genre, or for people looking for a community-based story. ~ 5 stars!
