Publisher's Summary

I never imagined the protector I longed for would be a mob boss who demanded complete control. I shouldn’t have gone to Lucien’s office.

Once I looked into his eyes, I couldn’t leave. He commanded me to kneel. Beg. Obey. I couldn’t help myself. One taste, and I craved more.

Lucien vowed to protect me from his enemies.... But who’s going to protect my heart from him?

This MM mafia romance is the first book in the Marchesi family series.

Stockholm Syndrome the book/series

There is so much to say about this book! I am not an expert on Dom/Sub relationships. I know that the sub/dom relationship can exend outside of the bedroom, but this book doesn't understand safe words (pretty basic) nor does it care about consent. Putting that aside my another problem with this book is the author never pre-established Peter wanting to be in a sub/dom relationship. So after meeting his boss, and after the first time Peter is asked to obey,  Peter is then all about having someone dominate him. Without the pre-established desire for a sub/dom relationship I cannot suspend my disbelief. I have bought other titles from this author and I have liked them, but this series is too toxic for consumption. This book makes the relationship in the Twilight look warm and cuddly by comparison. I am worried for the people who rated this title well.

Exceptional

Lucian is a tough mafia leader who has a soft heart very carefully hidden inside. Peter is a shy young man who is sweet but has learned to hide from the dangers in life. From the first meeting the chemistry is explosive. Angel and Devil are the slightly younger brother and cousin who certainly brightens up Lucian's life.

On a personal note, I am NOT normally a fan of crime stories like this. Having said that, this didn't get too crazy for me. Death yes, mention of some crime, yes but not the sadistic stuff I can't handle.

I really enjoyed it. I will eagerly await the next in the series.

A steamy opposites attract mafia romance!

Marchesi Family series and can be listened as a standalone.

This was a steamy and sexy opposites attract!
Lucien is rough on the outside but has a soft side he reserves for people closest to him.
Peter is timid and sweet and when he meets Lucien they clash in the best way possible.

The characters are real, raw and well fleshed out and the writing was engaging. The storyline was compelling and descriptive.

I absolutely loved listening to this, especially with Michael Dean's amazing narration and audio delivery.

MM Mafia Done Right

Silvia Violet does MM Mafia the right way. Engaging from the start to finish with all the action action suspense mixed perfectly with feels and heat you have come to expect from her. Michael does another fab job of bringing each character to life. Bring on book 2.

HOT!!

Wow!! I’d been hearing how amazing this series was in audio, so I waited to pick it up until I could binge all 3 books of the Marchesi Family. Everyone was right. Holy hotness, the narration of this is off the charts HOT. Michael Dean immediately pulled me into this story. His voice for Lucien was so perfectly rough and growly and I loved it. He did such an amazing job telling Lucien and Peter’s story. Honestly there is nothing I didn’t love about this book. There is action, dominance, super smoking hot sexy times and a Mafia family you have to know about. I was immediately in love with both Peter and Lucien. Peter was such a sweet and gentle soul, you wanted someone who was going to protect to him and claim him as their own. In comes Lucien, an alpha male Mafia boss who wanted to dominate and claim Peter as his own. Their chemistry was AMAZING. I loved Lucien’s brand of dominance and Peter’s sweet submission. I’m so sucked into the Marchesi Family I can’t wait to listen to the rest.

Weak Character

Good story but all of the boys should not be so weak and girl like. Have listen to many of the books and none of the sub characters are anything but girl like.

Peter is the worst

I like Sylvia's stories. They are hot and usually pretty good. The main couples usually seem to fit and they are flawed but still likable. That is not the case in this story. Peter is whiny and stupid and just so annoying. I mean, every time it was his point of view I was like, shut up Peter! I mean, the storyline is good, Lucien is pretty cool, and the sex is hot. But seriously Peter is one of the most annoying characters I've ever had the misfortune to run across. Lucien should just dump him and find someone less irritating.

Amazing Performance by Michael Dean

This is one of the best performances I've heard from Michael Dean. Dean comes up with an excellent array of difference voices and accents for this varied cast of characters. He also infuses a wealth of emotion, between Lucien's ruthless dominance and Peter's timid innocence, Michael Dean does a wonderful job.

Silvia Violet sets up her new mob family crime series, and introduces the characters. The love scenes between Lucien and Peter contain BDSM, DD, and S&M. There's also violence on page.

Absolutely brilliant

Michael Dean was amazing and made the story come alive.

Lucien was intense and the narrator captured that perfectly. Lucien and Peter were explosive together and I could happily get lost in them.

Fantastic book.

Great Book. Wonderful Narration.

I absolutely loved Silvia Violet's Lucien when I read it, so I was especially excited to listen to the audio and I love how great a job Michael Dean did of bringing the characters to life.

The strength in this book is its characters. the plot is fast paced and really interesting, and the book is really well written - but I really loved the characters. Dean did an amazing job of embodying the characters exactly how I pictured them. Lucien is rough and deep, his voice at times sinfully dark and smooth. I swear at points he almost growls. Peter is definitely quieter and shy, and a great foil to Lucien. This book has a fairly large secondary cast, and I found them unique and not too generic, while not distracting from the main cast.

a great book with wonderful narration - what more do you need?

Peter and the Mob Boss

I love this new trilogy by Silvia Violet and with the guys being brought to life by Michael Pauley, this was an entertaining listen for me. I do like stories about domination and submission, and this was a sweet but exciting tale of a young man who gets caught up in a cousin's machinations and ends up becoming the paramour of Mob boss, Lucien Marchesi. Highly recommended dark contemporary MM romance.

Mafia romance

Great start to this mafia series.
Lucien is the big bad wolf who's oh so eager to corrupt sweet, naive Peter.
Peter is more than willing to submit to Lucian's dark desires.
Sizzling chemistry between the main characters and of course Michael Dean's voice was just sexiness personified.

Loved

I loved listening this book and following Lucien and Peter. It has some steamy scenes while also having some dark ones. But I liked that Lucien learned that he could love Peter. I enjoyed the chemistry between them. The narrator did a brilliant job bringing the different characters to life.

Outstanding

The Narrator of this book had to bring to life some very strong characters and Michael Dean did just that, he took a story that on it leaves a person blown away and brought that world to the listener immersing them within it and creating a breathtaking work of art.

A well written mafia romance

Lucien Marchesi is head of the family, the Marchesi crime family that is. He’s in charge, knows what he wants and how he’s going to go about it. Peter kind of stumbles in to this, completely unknowing about what’s going on, and finds that Lucien decides what he wants is Peter and he knows precisely how he’s going to get him.

I’m 50/50 on mafia stories. I’ve read/listened to some good ones and some equally as bad ones. Thankfully Lucien is one of the good ones. I loved the D/s dynamics and relationship between the men - it worked wonderfully.

Narration wise, Michael Dean always pulls out all stops and he did no different with Lucien. I’m excited to listen to more from this series.
