Publisher's Summary

Among the Space Wolves there are as many sagas as there are warriors. Though none quite like that of Lukas the Trickster.

Renowned and reviled in equal measure, the Jackalwolf has ever stood apart from his brothers, passed from pack to pack by embittered Wolf Lords. But as a new enemy invades the icy reaches of Fenris at the height of the Helwinter, Lukas finds himself facing a foe who may rival even his legendary cunning - the drukhari corsair, Duke Sliscus.

In the battle between wolf and serpent, who will emerge triumphant, and who will lie on red snow?

I hope for a sequel

A quality 40k title with an interesting character that moves at a steady clip. Never felt it drag on once through the whole experience.

Amazing

As much as this is an audio drama, it is also a comedy, Lukas' behavior is so funny and rash. My favorite part was when he was playing around with his new heart that was a grenade. Lukas was so fascinated and didn't seem to care if it may blow up while the Wolf Lord and Iron Priest were not so enthusiastic at Lukas' new curiosity. A great audio drama to listen to while painting Space Wolves.

Well written, not crazy about the narrator

I got to chapter 7, and could not listen anymore. The narrator has a quality to his voice that is jerky and I find myself focusing on that instead of the storyline. Tried to return but for some reason this book was not eligible. I’m stuck with it

Good

Great characters, the drucharii storyline is however too different in both spacing and storytelling from the space wolves for my liking; when they become intertwined are when the story shines however.

best 40k book I've ever read!

I've read all of the Horus heresy, Age of Sigmar, and current on indomitus crusade, none come close to how well this book is written & paints both sides. the villain certainly gets built up well while Lukas gets to really mess with the enemy, great book, loved every minute of it!

Movie worthy

Title says it all. This could make for a fun film. Lukas, you the man…or should I say you the Jackal.

Lukas the social justice warrior 😳

I was really surprised at the level of philanthropy and socialism given to Lukas character, in a quasi fascist society like Warhammer it was the last thing I expected to see, the book itself was very enjoyable and at times quite amusing, John Banks narration was superb and lifted the characters out from the book

If Kevin McCallister was a Space wolf.

I was put off this book for ages because of the top rated comment "Social justice warrior" as if that's a good heroic thing to aspire to be lol. Most associate SJWs as idiots so I certainly didn't want to read a story glamorising them.

However, I took the risk in the 2 for one offer as it did have a 4.8 rating. I'm very glad I did. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very funny at times and had some very interesting characters and a great story. definitely worth a listen. As the title says it has a home alone feel at times but with bad ass space marines which was fun.

Awesome

I’m fairly new to warhammer lore. Some of it can be confusing if you don’t know much about the universe but this was pretty straight forward to follow. You don’t need to understand the inner workings of the imperium and it’s military to follow along (god it’s complicated) so I’d recommend it for fans and for more casual fans that just want to read about crazy, angry, drunk, Viking, man-wolf, super soldiers, monsters and sneaky sh**s all scrapping and murdering each other.

Great insight to DE and SW culture

Enjoyed the story and how it told the back ground to Dark Eldar and Spacewolves culture and fluff.

Enjoyed it a lot and recommend to any Dark Eldar fans also

Lots of fun. Cunning characters.

I enjoyed the plotting and scheming of a plethora of characters in this book. Their insights and considerations and how they use them for their own purposes, like jokes, military strategy, and murder. It is also the first novel I've gone through where several dark eldar characters have a prominent focus, and I appreciate the opportunity to learn a little about what makes them tick.

Amazing story

Amazing story I actually had a hard time guessing at the start of the main enemy was a dark Eldar or rogue trader but it’s funny but it’s never leaves the Weight of the situation or how grizzly fenris the home world of the space Wolves are its a must read

A very fine edition to the Vlka Fenryka

This tale was a great rendition of the late saga of the Vlka Fenryka before the events of Dark Imperium. Lukas represents the chaotic and fun nature of his chapter whereas the Serpent Duke Slyscus all that is fun and horrific of the Dark Eldar. A great hunt and story.
