Story
As a senior non-commissioned officer of Delta Force, the most elite and secretive special operations unit in the US military, Command Sergeant Major Tom Satterly fought some of this country's most fearsome enemies. Tom is a legend even among other Tier One special operators. Yet the enemy that cost him three marriages, and ruined his health physically and psychologically, existed in his brain. Told through Satterly's firsthand experiences, it also weaves in the reasons for his career-long battle against the most insidious enemy of all: post-traumatic stress.

In 2009 Clinton Romesha of Red Platoon and the rest of the Black Knight Troop were preparing to shut down Command Outpost Keating, the most remote and inaccessible in a string of bases built by the US military in Nuristan and Kunar in the hope of preventing Taliban insurgents from moving freely back and forth between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Three years after Keating's construction, the army was finally ready to concede what the men on the ground had known immediately: It was simply too isolated and too dangerous to defend.

Southern Afghanistan was slipping away. That was clear to then-Captain Rusty Bradley as he began his third tour of duty there in 2006. The Taliban and their allies were infiltrating everywhere, poised to reclaim Kandahar Province, their strategically vital onetime capital. To stop them, the NATO coalition launched Operation Medusa, the largest offensive in its history. The battlefield was the Panjwayi Valley, a densely packed warren of walled compounds that doubled neatly as enemy bunkers.

Publisher's Summary
There are special forces. There are US Navy SEALs. There is the select and secretive group of highly trained operators known as SEAL Team Six, or MOB VI as they like to call it.
And then there is Justin Sheffield.
When it comes to talking about the most experienced, effective, and deadly warriors in the world, Sheffield is part of an exclusive group that can be counted on one hand. None have served on more combat operations - more than 1,000. None have taken out more enemies of America and freedom around the globe. None who still draw breath have paid a greater physical and emotional price for serving their country. MOB VI is a volume unlike any seen before.
This audiobook is uncompromising, raw, violent, and real. It is the story of today's most elite warrior - a patriot who fights for his country at the apex of the war against evil and a vulnerable man of faith who continues to battle demons within.

Fast read /listen
I listened to this book in 2, 2 hour chunks. Listening to Justin tell his story was riveting. It was like listening to a family member tell this story around a camp fire. The pace, cadence, and story line was refreshing from most other books.
This is the second book that has mentioned electric brain therapy and how well it works for TBI and PTS. Thank you to all who have served. I hope everyone that needs help gets help, including the wives who stay at home and and raise their families.

Quality of the Audible
Quality of Audible si not good. I understand that on the plus side is that it is narated by the author himself but on the other side, that is also the negatíve.
Author si undoubtebly the one of the few when comes to combat but his voice and storytelling is not the best.
As best in what he does he should recornice that you cant be best in everything.
This would be one of the most interesting book out there if the author would work with profesional writer and narator. This is not insult, i am just saying that as the author worked his all life, professional writers do too.

Great Seal Team and National Security Silent Killer Servant Book
Loved the book. Wanted to hear it all over again immediately. Narration was a “10”. Bad mouthed the regular forces unnecessarily, which was some arrogance as expected from an Elite fighter/killer, but a waste of words given all that he contributed otherwise. Book was worth every Penney. Sermon at the end went too long, but meat prior to that was yummy. God bless our Navy Seals on all teams and all Special Ops Direct Action Teams.

Justin k sheffield himself is like unother audio books read by professional voice readers that don't fit the warrior bread or sound anything like a military person.
I felt he read this from the heart and will be one of my favorite audio books thus far. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a honest shorter story about life before, during and after serving in a SEAL team.

A Great Listen
When I started listening to this I initially thought it was going to be one I'd return quickly because of the authors narration style, however the stories more than make up for it. After a while the author/narrators matter of fact speaking actually grew on me and I was disappointed when I realized I'd nearly finished the book! The book is unapologetic and really he tells it how it is, which is the way it should be. Gave me more of an insight into the teams than most other books.

Amazing!
This is by far one of the better modern war biographies available. The honesty of the brutality of war and the operators “warrior” mindset is rarely discussed so candidily and served as a breathe of fresh air.
Justin’s narration really brings it all together.
I would of loved it to be a much longer story (8-10hrs) as there was some large broad strokes that could of been filled out more but this is purely from a selfish perspective as I want to read more!
Thanks for sharing your stories Justin.
