not your average romcom novel
I really liked this book. Great characters and an important topic dealt with in a really approachable way. Also really funny in parts too.

An important topic
Honestly my son told me, is difficult to achieve. We must not only tell the truth, but speak without trying to illicit a response you want. He was speaking about manipulation and coercion. He had already identified that people find it difficult not to communicate clearly and without an agenda. Great book Mhairi and an important topic to discuss.

Touching back story
Touching back story and liked that it touched upon issues of domestic abuse. However the pacing of the romance between the two antagonists was a bit slow to the point where it felt rushed and forced in the end. Great writing as usual but my least favourite so far.

She does it again!
Another amazing book! I thoroughly enjoy this author, her characters, the laugh out loud moments and the longing I feel, when they end! I enjoyed the additional maturity and complexity of this main characters back story in comparisons to some of the others stories by this author :) and another fabulous narrator

Not a romance
This might be a good story, depending on what you're looking for, but I couldn't get to the end. I purchased this because I wanted a romantic comedy as the cover and synopsis suggested this is, but it's just not. This is not particularly light-hearted, nor about two people falling for each other, that part seemed like a tacked on after-thought and was not convincing.
