Publisher's Summary

Harry’s escape from eternal misery leads him to the hostile Skeleton Coast. There he stumbles on a find....

Having caught Barend up in the African bush, the friends reach the barren Atlantic coastline. Alone with their troubled thoughts, they try to console each other, but eventually part ways.

Whilst fishing for his supper in a small alcove, Harry makes a discovery. One that could make no difference to him, or one that brings contentment to his life.

Realizing it is the future he wants, at peace with himself and his ghosts, Harry returns to Elephant Walk. But a year-old letter awaits him, throwing Harry and his family into turmoil. Ensuring his secret discovery is safe, Harry’s decision is made, little knowing the madness could start all over again. With Barend at the heart of it....

In this third tale of Peter Rimmer’s epic historical fiction series, Harry Brigandshaw finds himself torn between his love of Africa and his English heritage.

Another wonderfull story

The Peter Rimmer books never fail to disappoint. It is full of the Africa I knew growing up both in the farming districts and people to the deep gold mines where I worked. The story is so good one can overlook the narrators unfamiliarity with the pronounciations of words and places of the countries.
