Publisher's Summary

Book one of two (duet)

Fausto

I am the darkness, the man whose illicit empire stretches around the globe. Not many have the courage for what needs to be done to maintain power...but I do. And I always get what I want. Including my son's fiancée.

She's mine now, and I'll use Francesca any way I see fit. She's the perfect match to my twisted desires, and I'll keep her close, ready, and waiting at my disposal. Even if she fights me at every turn.

Francesca

I was stolen away and held prisoner in Italy, a bride for a mafia king's only heir.

Except I'm no innocent, and it's the king himself—the man called il Diavolo—who appeals to me in sinful ways I never dreamed. Fausto's wickedness draws me in, his power like a drug. And when the devil decides he wants me, I'm helpless to resist him—even if it means giving myself to him, body and soul.

He may think he can control me, but this king is about to find out who's really the boss.

Mafia Mistress is written by a USA Today best-selling author. It's the first book in the Italian Kings duet, not a stand-alone.

If you like feisty heroines, heroes who are a little bit cruel and a lot filthy, and plenty of heat, then welcome to Mila's twisted world. Don't say you weren't warned!

Smoking hot mafia romance!

I have read/listened to a lot of Mafia bucks… A lot. I was completely enthralled with this book and the narration is impeccable. This book is the perfect mix of alpha mafia king, super steamy scenes, and a legitimate mafia story line. Moving on to book 2 with haste! 🔥🔥🔥❤️

V E R Y DISAPPOINTING

I bought this book so obviously I wanted to love it.. and up to the 20% mark it was going great but from then on sadly it went downhill because there was just so much damn sex.. or talking about sex.. or thinking about sex.. with ‘hard’ or ‘wet’ being the main theme to the weak plot. It’s very much ‘sex’ driven angst leading the way and I really don’t know that this feared, badass, big, scary Don actually took care of any Mafia ‘business’ at all. Also, I like my dark anti-heroes to slowly grow, to show they care, to realize their women matter to them but Fausto is unapologetic that he’s only using Francesca for her holes. Well, that comes across blunt, loud and clear with absolutely no remorse and an often talked about “when he gets bored” end-date!! And, it wasn’t until the last chapter, that things started to get more interesting leaving things with an OMG of a CLIFFHANGER. However, a fairly weak unloveable heroine, an asshole user of an unloveable hero and a plot that was based on sex (and it did get hot in there!) and not much else happening means I’m done.

Worth a credit? For me it’s sadly a no.. I’ve got way too many excellent five star Mafia stories in my library to compare this disappointing listen to. Which also means that I don’t want to waste any more of my time on this couple.. nor am I continuing to the danger and tension part that may or may not start following this cliffhanger.. or to the grovelling part (which he needs to do on his knees!!). I also didn’t think Antonio’s voice fit the hero and it didn’t draw me in at all.. or make me swoon. But, like ice cream, just because this wasn’t my particular flavor - you however, may have just found your next creamy delight.

Could not stop listening!

So many readers have read or have been reading this and it has been on my TBR for a while now and I finally decided to jump in. I am so glad I did. I loved it. Could not stop listening! Forbidden, steamy and angsty. And that ending! I am jumping right in to the second audio now!

Happy listening!

Loved this!

I was recommended this book by a fellow booktoker and I am so glad! The story hooks you and the heat keeps you that way. The narration was good, I listen at 1.9x so sometimes the male accent got a little muddled but, I still loved it. This mafia romance is a bit different than ones I’ve read before and I really enjoyed that. Can’t wait to continue the series!

Wow

Wow! This was an amazing book from beginning to end. I loved Francesca from the beginning. She is strong and she knows what she wants. I liked that she didn't just give in to everything. But she didnt come across bratty to me. Fausto is a bit tougher for me to love. He is one of those men that you kind of love to hate. I cannot wait to see what happens in books 2. All I can say is...Let the groveling begin.

it's really 👍good

I really enjoyed it and will be purchasing the next book hopefully it's just as good. only complaint I have is that it was too short and could have been 1 book instead of 2. In my opinion also I wish the heroine wasn't such a pushover all the time because of the good sex it was annoying! Other than that it was very entertaining listening to the chemistry development of these two characters and I love the sex 👌🏼🤗🤭

Mafia Mistress by Mila Finelli

Tropes/Themes:
-MF contemporary romance
-Mafia (Capo x Mafia Princess)
-Arranged marriage
-Age gap
-Fiancé’s father
-Captor/captive
-Widowed hero
-Dual POV
-Book 1 in the Italian Kings duet (ends in a cliffhanger)

This story starts off with Francesca (Frankie) getting forced into an arranged marriage with the son of a mafia king known as il Diavolo (the devil). However, after getting whisked away to Italy to live the type of life she was hoping to stay away from, she quickly finds herself falling for the devil himself (Fausto, her fiancé’s father). Long story short…this book was a hot mess but I was kind of here for it. This had so many of my favorite tropes and, while there were definitely some cringeworthy moments and instalust, this was a wild and fun ride. I definitely plan on picking up the next book on the duet, however I don’t have the urgency to pick it up like I was hoping I would. I think my excitement for book 2 was slightly hindered by one of my least favorite tropes dropping near the end.

CWs for forced marriage, torture, murder, homophobia, surprise pregnancy

Story: 3/5
Audiobook: 3/5 (the Italian accents were ROUGH)
Length 10h52min

Meh

I tried, but I couldn't get into it. I'm all about the slow burn, but the characters were wildly unlikable. I love me and alpha asshole, but this guy really sucked. The female main character was obnoxiously annoying as well. I get her independence and her want to do things her own way, and while I understand 18-year-olds still need to figure themselves out, her complete lack of self-awareness was off-putting. This was my first foray into this author's work, I don't think I'll return.

Boring

I find this book boring and like every other mafia storyline. And I had hoped for more steam
