Story
Some people are ordained for greatness. Those people usually have a lot of drama in their life. Drama I happily do without. I live in a forgotten corner of nowhere for a reason: there is safety in anonymity. I have enough problems just trying to get by. But when Kieran, a sinfully sexy demigod at the pinnacle of power, crashes into my life, suddenly my whole world is turned upside down. He’s harboring a deadly secret, one that could destroy all he holds dear. He thinks I’m the key to his salvation, and he wants me to help him claim vengeance. He also wants me with a passion.

Broke, almost homeless, and recently fired. Those are my official reasons for answering a wanted ad for a skeevy-looking bartender gig. It went downhill the moment they asked me to do a trial shift instead of an interview - to see if I'd mesh with their "special" clientele. I think that part went great. Their customers were complete dickheads, and I was an asshole right back. That's the definition of fitting in, right? I expected to get thrown out on my ass. Instead, they...offered me the job?

I had no idea how those words would change my life. Or how they’d changed my life already...until the day the most dangerous man I’ve ever met waltzed onto my farm and left us a death sentence. In an invitation. My younger brother has been chosen for the prestigious, secret magical school hidden within the folds of our mundane world. A place so dangerous, they don’t guarantee you’ll make it out alive. If he doesn't go, our entire family will be killed. It’s the same invitation my older brother received three years ago - the same place where he mysteriously died.

Story
The day after my 43rd birthday, my husband announced he was trading me in - his words, not mine. The news was unwelcome at the time, but honestly? I needed a good goosing to get up and find my way to the door. So I was freed from the giant manual of expectations authored by my ex. That was the good news. The flip side was less happy. Due to living in a state not friendly to discarded wives, I was also relieved of the financial "security" I'd spent a lifetime accruing.

It's no easy job being the town nutcase. Ella knows from experience. She's grown up in a quaint little place with people who pretend the extraordinary isn't happening around them. They ignore the bumps in the night and won't talk about doors closing by themselves or items moving mysteriously. They also won't talk about the old woman who haunts the streets. Those who do are fibbers, begging for attention. But Ella knows it is no lie - when the lightning cracks and the rain thrashes, someone goes missing: a child, lost to the night.

I am Levy Michaels. Once my kind were the hunters - now we are the hunted. Supernaturals are out of the closet but I have to stay hidden because of the type of magic I possess. I’m a legacy. It sounds like the title should come with reverence, a trust fund, or at the very least a cool backstory - instead it comes with a death sentence. I have to hide in plain sight and pretend to be just human. I’m pretty good at it.

Publisher's Summary
Jessie's new life adjustment is well underway. The tough alpha Austin has joined her team, and she has painstakingly learned to fly. Life is going a-okay.
That is, until her parents decide to visit....
They don't know anything about magic, about Jessie's new digs, or about the crazy crew living in and around Jessie's house. She must do everything in her power to keep the truth away from them.
Which would be much easier without the unfelt presence lurking within Ivy House's borders. It seems an enemy has figured out a way to magically bypass Ivy House's defenses. Jessie is completely exposed.
The real battle, however, won't be with the incoming force. It will be between Mr. Tom and Jessie's mom, each intent on being the most helpful. Mr. Tom might have met his match, and he is not pleased.
Just when things were finally settling down, Jessie is in the thick of it again, and this time, the turmoil is all around her.

another good one
Spoiler alert!!!
I need the, will they? won't they? to stop. Just have them go balls to the wall, crazy monkey, I need to decompress kind of sex. All these teasing and back and ford is frustrating and feels unnecessary for adults. there is already plenty of tension and drama going on. It's starting to feel like a YA book, and not in a good way. At least they killed that love triangle nonsense in the last book.

Hysterical and Enticing
I laughed so much in this. Her parents crack me up, because they feel authentic. Niamh continues to be my favorite character, she’s such a pill. Jessie continues to discover herself and gain confidence, and this slow burn thing with her and Austin is gonna make me crazy. I can’t wait for the next book. And Nicole Poole is AMAZING.

Outstanding
I have read hundreds of books with many different story lines, but I gotta say that this book (series) was a wonderful treat. The author was imaginative, creative and a master of developing characters with such varied personalities that it made the stories write themselves. I will not give it away by going on and on about each character. However, I will say that if you choose to read this series, you will be plasently surprised.

Not a lot of books make me laugh out loud, so I felt quite comfortable starting this book when my husband and I went to bed last night. Needless to say, my husband is not speaking to me this morning because I kept him up all night giggling. Good for now - not as good as the last two
The series is great - I love the hilarious characters and the house etc. The stupid love thing with Austin is annoying and needs to move into it because it isn’t ‘build-up’ it’s getting old. Since the next book is Midlife Magical Love there better be some damn love!!!! Ulrich is a great side character and I would love to see him more!!

I devoured this story from beginning to end.
I'm already a fan of K. F. Breene's books. I love her writing style and her stories tick all my boxes. Breene has an intelligent writing style that's easy to read. Her main characters have realistic personalities that I can't help but root for. She also writes great supporting characters that contribute towards the protagonist's growth and the plot. I love the believable background stories and settings in her books and marvel at the balanced mix of relationship, tension, action, humour and mystery she creates.
Hollie Jackson is a fantastic narrator. I like the pace at which she reads and the emotions she conveys. Her performance was outstanding; bringing the story and characters to life. There are some very unique characters in this series, and the voices she has created for them all are very impressive. Their personality shines through. Hollie transported me into each and every scene.
As a menopausal woman within spitting distance of the big 5-0, I love that this series has an older protagonist and supporting characters. Jessie is a woman who's comfortable in her own skin and has the confidence of life experience behind her. However, as everyone knows, change is a big part of life, how we react and deal with it is the key to personal growth. I loved how Jessie dealt with the situations in this book, how she's learning and growing into her new magical position.
Magical Midlife Invasion builds on the previous books. The threads running through the series and the ones that begin and end in this book were enthralling and entertaining. I loved listening to Jessie stumble through her parental visit while trying to keep the magic hidden from them. It created some very entertaining scenes.
There are some darker scenes, including violence and scary-ass killer dolls, so be warned.
I'd recommend Magical Midlife Invasion to adults who enjoy coming-of-age stories with older protagonists. Readers who love older, independent, capable heroines and strong alpha heroes. Plots with a generous helping of banter, humour and realistic issues for the over 40s within a paranormal adventure.
I can't wait to get my hands on the next audiobook - Magical Midlife Love - and check out the other books available in the Paranormal Women's Fiction (PWF) genre.

As the third book in this series it had a lot to live up to, it did not disappoint. A wonderful funny story, as usual.
This book is part three of the good story of a middle aged woman discovering her strength... and magic. I liked the humor in it, the characters' different personalities and their adventures. I had jyst read the previous books so I found it a bit hard getting used to the actress' voice at the beginning, but that's quite usual for me.

Great series, light-hearted, funny and with a relatable heroine
Really enjoying this series. Great characterisation, I love what Nicole Poole does with Edgar in particular, I’ve not been so fond of a vampire since Angel and Spike (not the same kind of fond mind you! 😆). Always nice when something makes you laugh out loud. Hope the author is cracking on with the next one already.

Awesome series
I love this series so much I am having Ivy House withdrawals already.
Action packed and had me in stitches in places. KF Breene is definitely one of my favourite authors and the narration by Nicola Poole brings the characters to life.
Just hope the next book is out soon.

Another good addition
Really enjoying this series..fun but clever writing, hysterical characters (love the old vampire). I think though that I am enjoying the narrated version more than I would written, narrator is fantastic and really beings all characters to life. Intro of parents is a fun plot twist, and slowly simmering chemistry between Jessie and Steele is a nice change.

Brilliant narration!
If I could give Nicole Poole more than 5 stars I would, she truly adds to the story. Looking forward to the next edition.

good
Good addition to the series. Some funny moments. A little too slow burn with the romance between Jesse and Austin for my taste - getting to be too tedious with the constant back and forth.
Love the colourful characters and the parents were hilarious.
Had some issues with the audio - poor production value compared to previous books. Narrator was fine.
