Audiobook two - Captive of the Wolf Pack

Their love is dangerous, but it’s worth risking everything. War is coming to Bonfire Falls, and wolf shifters Nyx, Remus, and Torak will stop at nothing to protect their mate.

Audiobook three - Captive of the Dragons

Desperate for help, Ariadne travels up the mountain to the dragon enclave where she’s held by three intimidating, yet irresistible dragon shifters. Now’s not the time to fall in love, but to save her town, she’ll have to risk her heart.

Audiobook four - Captive of the Vampires

Azealia’s life of self-imposed exile comes to an end when a clan of powerful vampires sets out to destroy her. A wolf shifter, a bear shifter, and a dragon shifter come to her aid, but it will take more than their combined strength to defeat their enemies. It will take the most powerful magic in Bonfire Falls - love magic.

Magically Mated is a complete four-audiobook series with HEA, no cliff-hangers, no cheating, and tons of hot and steamy action.

So redundant so very repetitive!

The author makes excellent story lines that have the potential to make wonderful novels. However, she has a horribly annoying tendency to keep repeating the same things over and over as if making the female characters have some inner struggle in order to come up with enough words to hit the count she needed. It reminds of writing a high school English paper and trying to come up with enough “filler” to hit the required page count while still staying on topic. I wished I could reach my hand into the book and smack the character in the face, telling her to move on with the freaking story already. All of the books in this series are basically the exact same story line with different character names as if the author was writing from some specific formula. You have the nerdy male shifter, the sexy bad boy male shifter and the artistically creative male shifter. They all hook up with a troubled witch that doesn’t know how truly powerful she can be until she used her growing love to ignite her inner power and save the men she loves while dealing with her insanely repetitive inner conflict about having a relationship with three men. The narrator is the only thing that really saved this series.

SUPER Repetitive

Every time, the woman was shady about the men, and none of the guys even questioned it or got super upset like normal people would do, not even about sharing her, but the hiding and sneaking they all did. And there was always a pattern in each book, the alpha first, the middle normal guy, and then the super soft nice guy last, and they all -ALL- reacted the same way. It was literally the same book over and over and over, and the places and professions changed, but that was about it. The women had the same attitude, the men had the same personalities, it was very bland and very hard to finish. The last book with the vampire, I didn’t even try to finish. Not worth the credit. I’m a book lover, and I’ve never given such a low rating before.

A woman's fantasy???

I guess this is a fantasy. Dealing with three men, long-term, would likely be a nightmare. I understand she was filling different desires with different personalities, but it seemed a bit fantastical to me. Other reviewers are correct that the books followed a pattern that made listening to them all a bit predictable. However, I'm not really looking for mental stimulation with a book like this...they are sensual and I think that is where they excel.

Narrator is TERRIBLE

The heroine in the first two books are too timid and whiny for me. The narrator makes it so much worse though. I literally couldn't finish the series.

What a struggle!

This series was really hard to listen to. the first two heroines were the worst sort of whiny self centered characters. Hard to care about whatever was happening to them. The narrator made them even more irritating. I should have saved the credit.

Interesting, not a bad listen

I am a repeat listener for any book/series I enjoy. Unless Liv writes more in this series, I doubt I will ever feel compelled to revisit the Bonfire Falls community. Each story was in itself ok, the non sex scenes were tepid and predictable. Each story in this set of 4 (not 5 as the title line showed books 1-5) were almost identical in their plot. Captive of the Dragon Clan had only slight variations on the theme. All had a female lead (a witch), 3 shifters (male leads), 1 evil female character and her minions. All the witches struggled with the idea of multiple love interests and determined to have a poly relationship. All the men put up a perfunctory struggle but accept the role of a part of a quartet because they want the girl. The evil chick dies or is banished and they all live HEA.

I have listened to worse stories, but I had higher hopes for this series. Meghan narrates these books well. Aside from enunciation differences, I have no complaints.

Well...

Not a terrible story. Lots of strong characters that all live in this unfortunate city that is always on the brink of war. Major inconsistencies, but a repetitive sex story isn't generally about the story. My biggest issue was with the narrator! She did a great job at handling all the voices actually. She just couldn't land the sexiness. It was terribly hard to listen to sex scenes that were spoken to you like you were in first grade! I sped it up, slowed it down, stopped listening for a while, everything!! By book 4, she was a lot more believable, but the hotness level of this book could have been changed so much with a different narrator.

Series of shifters

The first book of this series was very enjoyable. The following books there is always 1 woman and 3 bears or 3wolves. Basically the author had no imagination once you have read the first book and you listen to the others they are all the same . Once I had started 2 book I knew exactly what would happen . I tried all the stories to make sure. SAME THING. If you enjoy repetition you will enjoy.

Bit of a let-down

Struggling to get through this box set. After listening to the wolf protector box set this one is a big let down for a few reasons. The main reason is that they're basically all the same with a few little tweaks like names and species..the first book had a motorcycle riding shifter, and artist, and a hippie type. So did the second one. The guy she expected to be soft was rougher than she expected. The way the girls go about telling the guys is the same...kisses them all first, then then sleeps and asks to be shared. I feel like I'm listening to the same story again.

Also, in the second book, the heroine originally escapes her stepmother and the academy by climbing out the window. After she is recaptured and returned to her SAME room, it is said that the window is too high to climb from and she risks falling to her death. Also, previously in the story it is mentioned that she can levitate herself and other objects. Why can't she do that to get to the ground?

ALSO she is attending a DARK MAGIC academy. When trying to break out of her room it's states she can't because her step mom used dark magic to lock her in. And that witches learn dark magic in THEORY so they can learn to defend against it, and if one wishes to learn dark magic they need to learn from some outside source, and she didn't do that because she doesn't like dark magic. But she attends a DARK MAGIC ACADEMY.

Plenty of other scenarios like this. Sure I will find more as I keep going.

Author strings together a plot without rehashing and realising what she's already said.

Third book...heroine sounds the same as the others...also it was mentioned that Blaze tied ropa around her WRISTS and then tied them to the bed post...he then went and slept in the lounge. however come morning it's said that she's tied spread eagle to the bed and she needs to pee and would like to cross her legs but can't...when her legs were never tied. Too many inconsistencies I am not enjoying this bundle at all. Honestly it is going to be a struggle to finish
