Publisher's Summary

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of Magnus Chase and the Ship of the Dead by Rick Riordan, read by Michael Crouch.

Loki the trickster god is free from his chains. Now he's readying Naglfar, the Ship of the Dead, armed with a host of giants and zombies, to sail against the Norse gods and begin the final battle of Ragnarok. It's up to Magnus Chase and his friends to stop Loki's plans, but to do so they will have to sail across the oceans of Midgard, Jotunheim and Niflheim in a desperate race to reach Naglfar before it's ready to sail on Midsummer's Day.

Along the way, they will face angry sea gods, hostile giants, and an evil fire-breathing dragon who happens to be a former acquaintance. But Magnus's biggest challenge will be facing his own inner demons. To defeat Loki, Magnus will need to use words, not force. This will require finding a magical elixir so deadly that it will either make Magnus Chase powerful enough to out-talk the silver-tongued Loki, or destroy Magnus utterly.

This one I liked very much!

I’ll admit I’m not a big fan of audiobooks, sometimes I can’t engage with the content, get bored and just drop the audiobook altogether.

This one was amazing!!! Michael Crouch’s performance was phenomenal :) he can make his voice a 100 different ways when the dialogs involve a lot of characters! Loved it very much! Will keep an eye out for more books read by him!

Normalising

All of this book is refreshing. Gender fluid, a Muslim girl observing Ramadan...thank Mr Riordan for writing this and opening up 10 year old son to a world where diversity is celebrated.

subtle but noticeable SJW propaganda

Rick becomes more and more politically correct in each book and it's getting annoying, one day SJW and being politically correct are going to go out of fashion for those people and when the book is read then they will just cringe at some of the words in his books

Magnus Chace book3

Amazing. Great
But I would like a painfully buitful mane character (make her a bad ass sexey girl )and make her have a super power to make a man fall in love with her (not that she needed to use. Magic it make them fall in love with her) so she could dlipritily break their hart plz I know u can do it

pronunciation ruined it for me

narrator did a better job than the guy who did book 1. However the words were mispronounced bifrost as beefrost, idun as seagun etc.

even at nearly 40 I LOVE this series

Rick writes as though each and every character is his best friend! The way Alex has grown is amazing. His understanding of Muslim culture is inciteful. The way it all comes together keeps you entertained to the very last word and leaves you wanting the next book.... like now!

A great story

This is a great story (like the title says) and should be one of the best story’s in Midgard (and the 8 other realms) so you should definitely listen to it and if you do there’s a big thank’s from me.

Imma a fan but ……

So love love love everything Rick Riordan does and this book is still amazing BUT the gender fluid stuff just seems unnecessary, nothing against anyone that is but in this book it just goes next level and Jack the sword … calm down horny sword smh

Too fast

It’s being read to fast, but if I slow down the speed, even by one, it sounds like it is being read by a robot that is having difficulty learning english.
